What did were your first impression on the product?
First Impressions were good, they looked like appealing, tasty snacks. My DC's were particularly drawn to the Melty Twists which they thought loooked fun.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
They loved the savoury flavours of the Melty twists as well as the crunchy to 'melt in the mouth' texture.
They enjoyed the mini wholegrain biscuits, preferring the Apple flavour to the Strawberry & Vanilla. They did comment that they were quite sweet and my youngest would say they stuck in his teeth!
The flapjacks were deemed "Too sticky, squishy and sweet" and not enjoyed as much as the other products.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I liked that they were a sensible portion size and handy for lunch boxes too. The Melty Twists were a fun/quirky format (the kids really liked them) but did create quite a bit of mess when my DCs tried to tackle them! a bag of smaller ones would be great.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
It was simple and bright with easy to read nutritional information.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I would not swap my current brands but will start to buy the Melty Twists as they were a hit. I would also be interested in trying new products from the brand as they launch, especially savoury ones.

churchilllounge · 11/09/2017 13:46

I tried bundle 1.

What did were your first impression on the product?

To be honest they looked a bit bland and worthy. As they were linked with Disney I expected something fun.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

They loved the breadsticks (as did my husband who pinched a few). My 3 year old found the fruit ones too sweet (I don't think she's ever rejected anything sweet.) my 1 year old happily ate it (dipping it in yoghurt).

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Great packs for taking out and about. Perfect.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

It's very simple but again I thought it would be fun and I thought it was a bit plain.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

Yes to the breadsticks. The fruit ones - I probably would for my youngest.

Thanks for sending us them.

danson16 · 11/09/2017 14:55

When we first got the product we were excited by the breadsticks as they looked really nice but was bummed there was only one of each flavour of the bakes as they looked amazing. The bakes looked like double sized fig rolls, which I have to say were my favourite. As soon as my daughter saw them, she wanted to eat them.

My daughter thought the rolls were great, she ate them all fully, leaving no crumbs. She liked the fruit inside and the texture of the roll. However the breadsticks did not go down so well. My daughter took 1 bite of both and would not touch them again. I also tried them, the cheese was quite hard, the tomato not as bad however they were still hard. The tomato had the better flavour and could taste the tomato. The cheese tasted more like a plain breadstick, not really any strong taste of cheese.

I think the pack sizes are not big enough, like most things, never enough to last the week and have to buy 2 or 3! The strawberry pack being the worst as only has 4 in. The mixed berry and apple has 6 which is good but wish it would have 7 in, one for each day. The breadsticks look like good quantity in the bags from what I can tell.

Obviously the packaging the products came in were just clear polythene. However the packaging of the actual item looks good. Its fun and great for children. The colours work well and mickey mouse is always good on the packaging. Although I would maybe suggest other characters, because not everyone likes Mickey Mouse.

I think some things, like the bakes if they were in bigger quanitities and possibly other products. I would not purchase the breadsticks as they were not to our taste. I would however be willing to try other products in the range.

danson16 · 11/09/2017 14:57

Also my daughters favourite fruity bake was the strawberry one, it went down a treat and would definitely buy this one again.

CumbrianExile · 11/09/2017 15:11

Thanks for sending us bundle 1. Both myself and DS(3) enjoyed sampling the products.

What did were your first impression on the product? - Both looked very appetizing. DS initially looked a bit confused when I handed him the fruity bake - but once he tasted it he loved it. They were a good size, perfect for toddler hand.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture? - i thought the breadsticks were very nice, a good amount of crunch and flavours. I particularly liked the slight taste of basil on the tomato ones. DS said they were nice too. I didn't get to sample the fruity bake, which suggests they were also good, he said these were yummy, and wanted more.

What did you like about the format/pack size? Fruity bakes were fine. like others above me though, there was too many breadsticks for a snack, so would probably hand out a couple at a time, so a resealable pack would be great for these.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? neither product came in the packaging, but a sheet showing the design was included. i thought it was bright, and the mickey picture would definitely draw my attention to the product. DS picked it up and started shouting mouse, so i think he would also be drawn to them.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? I am not very brand loyal, and don't have a particular brand, but I would definitely buy these products again, and I am intrigued to try the twisty bakes from the reviews above.

Chuffingchuff · 11/09/2017 16:15

What did were your first impression on the product?
They looked nice. I liked that the packaging was clear so we could see the product before opening.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

The breadsticks were quite hard and difficult for her to bite as she's only 1. They were a good shape and size, easy for her to hold. She seemed to like the flavour.

The fruity bakes she really enjoyed. They were a good size and texture, easy for her to eat and seemed to like the flavours.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

There were plenty of breadsticks which I felt was good value for money.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

My packaging was plain, clear packaging with white labels.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

If it was on offer yes, but I don't tend to buy products like this at the moment. I would be more likely to buy the fruity bakes than the breadsticks.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 11/09/2017 16:31

We tried bundle 1.

What were your first impression on the product?
To be honest they didn't look particularly appetising. Beige/ brown in colour, they looked a bit boring!

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Both DC liked the breadsticks & the fruit bakes. They seemed to prefer the parmesan breadsticks to the tomato ones but did eat all of both. The Strawberry fruit bake went down the best but again they ate the lot!

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Great! Perfect for snacks and especially for taking out and having on the go.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
None of our products came in the proper packaging- unless I'm missing something?!

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Possibly - they went down well so if they were at a reasonable price I don't see any reason not to buy.

Thank you!

Bufferingkisses · 11/09/2017 18:21

Bundle 1

What did were your first impression on the product?
The breadsticks looked rather large! My first thought was that they are going to cause lots of dribble whilst trying to eat them!
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
They seemed to like the taste and texture. They certainly asked for more. Mainly likes the fruitbakes though - which is strange as they usually like savoury.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
I liked the pack size as it discouraged waste and also discouraged offering too much.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Mine weren't packaged but the sheet with them looked inviting.
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
It would depend on price point obviously but probably yes. They seemed to have flavour which a lot don't!

joleyn · 11/09/2017 18:39

Bundle 2

First impressions - looked good, twists were an odd size.

Taste/tex ture - both dcs loved the biscuits, flapjacks were very sticky but they still liked them. Twists were OK.

Format/pack size - flapjacks were a good size. Biscuits were a good size to be shared by my 18 month old twins. Twists were too big for a snack.

Disney packaging - I think it was fine. Dcs are too young to be interested in packaging yet.

Swap - I would definitely buy the biscuits and the flapjacks again. I probably wouldn't buy the twists.

HattietheManatee · 11/09/2017 19:04

Thanks for sending us the testers!

What did were your first impression on the product?
Twists - assumed 3 year old would hate them as she won't touch anything with cheese on or in.
Flapjacks were small.
Biscuits looked a little dry.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Twists - was surprised as both 3 and 5 year old LOVED the Pepper and cheese twists, the cheese wasn't overpowering. The broccoli and cheese twists were bland though and neither really liked them.
The apple biscuits were really popular with the 5 year old and he wolfed them down! We couldn't taste the cinnamon in them but they were nice, the strawberry ones were blander.
The flapjacks were popular with the 5 year old and the OH, I found them too sweet and the 3 year old found them too sticky (she doesn't like getting things stuck on her hands).

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Not had a twist snack for the kids before and they liked the shape, am sure it would be crumbly but my kids can make a mess out of a wet wipe :D
Biscuits a good size pack for a young child, not too large.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Twists and flapjacks came in plain packaging so not sure what final product will look like. The Disney characters on the biscuit packaging were recognised and commented on by the 5 year old but not the 3 year old.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Will definitely buy the pepper and cheese twists, good to have some savoury snack options. I would also consider buying the apple wholegrain biscuits again as the 5 year old loved them and was good to have some wholegrain in them. I wouldn't buy the flapjacks as think they're too sweet/small.

ikkle87 · 11/09/2017 19:26

We were chosen to try Bundle 2. We got 2 twisty melts, 2 flapjacks and 2 packs of mini wholegrain biscuits. Only the mini wholegrain biscuits were in official packaging.

What were your first impression on the product?
We were really impressed with the twisty melts, they were really original looking, they smelt cheesy without being too strong and they weren't a luminous orange like some cheese flavoured snacks. I also love the fact they smuggle in extra veg!
The flapjacks were a nice size and looked moist, and when taken out of the packaging smelt amazing!
I liked the Mickey mouse branding on the biscuits and my son did too. I was a bit worried about him choking on them if he was a guzzle guts due to the shape/size of them but as they are for over a certain age I think it's just a case of watching your child while they eat.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
J really enjoyed the melty twists, so much so he asked for the second one. I asked him what they tasted like and he said wotsits. You couldn't really taste any of the broccoli or sweet pepper in them.
The flapjacks were a great size, chewy and moist and sweet so he liked them.
He said the apple wholegrain biscuits were spicy and having tried one I think I know where he was coming from as they tasted a bit like apple pie with a hint of cinnamon and i think that's what he could taste.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I liked that the melty twists were wrapped individually, they were a good size although J ate two! Otherwise they were perfect for snacks.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
I love the use of Mickey it made J want to eat them as he is his favourite Disney character. I'd love to see other disney themed characters brought into the range. The nice bright green for apple and pink for strawberry worked well and was attractive.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Yes, maybe not everything but we would definitely try more of their product range.

CommonFishDiseases · 11/09/2017 20:04

What did were your first impression on the product?
The fruity bakes looked a good size for small hands to hold and 'recognisable' based on larger similar products for adults on the market. The breadsticks looked healthy and also easy for little hands to hold.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
DC did not like the taste of the tomato breadsticks. I think it is more of an adult taste really. DC liked the cheese breadsticks better and ate all of those up, however found them very dry and I think would have preferred them with a dip e.g. humous/yoghurt, as they made him very thirsty. They were too dry to have a whole packet as a standalone snack. DC loved the taste and texture of the fruity bakes and ate those very fast.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I think the pack size was about right for a snack.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
I like that you can see through the breadstick packaging to see the actual product inside. I like that the name of the product is clear and easy to read.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
No - I was put off by the ingredients, namely the sugar, glucose syrup, flavourings etc. My current brand of kids' snacks is much healthier.

DaisyDando · 11/09/2017 20:17

What did were your first impression on the product?
I was a bit taken aback at the lack of packaging, but the breadsticks looked nice and the fruit bakes looked like tasty fig rolls.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My son really enjoyed both the breadsticks and the fruit bakes. Breadsticks are quit low down on his dream list of snacks, but he was very enthusiastic about these.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
I'm not sure what the pack size will be, but the size they were provided in as a tester was perfect.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
I can see from the enclosed leaflet that the Disney packaging is quite attractive and not too fussy.
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Possibly. Before testing, I wouldn't have done as I would've assumed I was paying for the brand rather than the product. But these were tasty and if they are packaged individually, quite suitable for slinging in the changing bag.
Thanks, we liked having snacks through the post!

BBQsAreSooooOverrated · 11/09/2017 22:55

What did were your first impression on the product? The melty twists were bigger than I was expecting. The biscuits looked really nice. The flapjacks seemed quite small.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture? She wasn't that keen on the melty twists but really enjoyed the others particularly the apple biscuits.

What did you like about the format/pack size? There were lots of the biscuits and they went down very well.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? The biscuits were in Disney packaging but the other 2 products weren't so can only comment on the biscuits. They looked really colourful and dd instantly noticed Mickey as she likes mickey mouse clubhouse.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? If they are a similar price then I'd definitely purchase Disney Kitchen products.

theothersideoftheworld · 11/09/2017 23:04

We had bundle 1.

First impressions were that they looked a bit bland.
The breadsticks went down really we'll especially with my 5 year old. He loved the Parmesan ones more than the tomato ones.
The fruit bakes were delicious and didn't last very long.
The pack sizes were ideal and I liked how they are individually wrapped.
The packaging was clear so no fun packaging to comment on!
I would swap to these products for a bit of variety.

chrisma232 · 12/09/2017 01:56

We received the Disney Kitchen Toddler snacks bundle 1 - Fruity bakes and Italian Breadsticks.

What did were your first impression on the product? - The breadsticks looked a bit over baked but the fruit bakes looked quite nice.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture? - We started with the parmesan bread stick and there was no cheese flavour really which was a big shame .It just tasted like a breadstick but was quite dry and hard.My child didn't particularly like it.

Next we tried the tomato breadstick it smelt like it had a herb in it as well as the tomato. The herb overpowered the tomato flavour .My child didn't like this one at all and wouldn't eat the rest.I had a try of it too and the herb left an unpleasant aftertaste that lasted quite awhile.

Up next we tried the fruity bakes. First we tried the mixed berry fruity bake. It smelt lovely My child really liked it and ate it all.It had a really nice texture to it.

The apple flavour version took longer for the apple taste to come through and didn't get much taste of the apple. It would have been better with more apple filling.

The strawberry flavour also had a lovely flavour to it and my child ate it all. They would be better though with more fruit filling as there is a lot of biscuit taste.

The format and the pack size is just about right for toddlers.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? - It's very bright and attractive.Very well designed and love the design. There is nothing I would change about the packaging.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? I would with the fruity bakes as they were really liked but not the breadsticks as the cheese ones didn't taste of anything and the tomato ones just tasted of really strong herb and not tomato.

carolineandbaby · 12/09/2017 06:58

What did were your first impression on the product?
A bit boring. I received Bundle 1 in clear plain packaging and all the products were beige of the same colour and texture. That said I though the breadsticks and soft bakes were of a suitable size for the age range targeted.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

While I found the taste boring and And bland especially the Parmesan breadsticks they went down well with the little ones. The texture was really crunchy which I enjoyed but did watch the kids eating at all times as I was worried it may be too hard and crunchy for them.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Pack sizes were perfect for on the go.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Well if what I received was the kitchen packaging (clear wrap and plain black and white label) then very boring but clear and easy to see product so you know what you are buying. I honestly was expecting more colour and fun shapes in the food.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

Yes only to try it but would return to current brand.

lottietiger · 12/09/2017 09:22

What did were your first impression on the product?
Good although it would have been nice to see the packaging on the flapjacks/cheese twists.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
my 4 year old wolfed down the flapjacks and the melty twist. The strawberry biscuits he ate about half and then offered them round and the apple he wasn't quite so keen on taste wise. he liked the texture of all of them though no leaving half eaten bites around anywhere.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
The flapjacks where just the right size for lunchboxes or a quick snack and I liked they were several in a pack so were economical to buy.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? My son liked the fact they had MIckey Mouse on the packaging it made him want to try them.
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I would definitely buy these again for lunchboxes during school holidays or for travel etc. when I asked my son which was his favourite he said all of them which is a good advert.

aggga8 · 12/09/2017 10:13

What did were your first impression on the product?
good
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My kids enjoyed it.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
perfect small and lovely pictures
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
love it
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
yes

BadgerFace · 12/09/2017 10:25

Disney Kitchen Toddler snacks bundle 1
Fruity bakes
Italian Breadsticks

What did were your first impression on the product?
The breadsticks looked very big compared to other brands - very fat and quite hard.
The Fruity bakes were a good size.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My four year old loved both.
My 20 month old found the breadsticks a bit hard. She ate half the fruity bake and crumbled the rest which is unusual as she loves food.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
A good number of breadsticks.
Only only fruity bake per pack although we were sent three so I am not sure what the real pack/size is.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Ours came in see through cellophane bags - no Disney packaging which was a shame as we have recently been to Disneyland Paris and my 4 year old would have loved Disney packaging!

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I am not sure. I would need to check the prices and sugar content against Ella's/Organix which is what we usually buy.

EllaMenoPea · 12/09/2017 11:22

@PoppyMumsnet just checking its OK that I haven't had the email survey yet?

Goldenhandshake · 12/09/2017 11:33

Still not received the sample pack :(

doggyg · 12/09/2017 13:38

We tested bundle 1.

What did were your first impression on the product?
The product came in clear plain packaging and all the products looked a similar colour and texture. The breadsticks looked a good size for children though and the fruity bakes looked tasty (but quite small).

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My DD tried a breadstick and didn't have any more as she said she wasn’t keen on it. I think they would probably be better eaten with some sort of dip as they were quite dry. She loved the fruity bakes and there seemed to be quite a lot of filling, which is always good.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Breadsticks were a good portion size for children but the fruity bakes could have been bigger.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Ours came in cellophane bags so could only see the packing from the enclosed leaflet. It looks quite attractive and would definitely appeal to children.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I don't really have a current brand but would definitely buy the fruity bakes again as they went down really well and great to have shoved in my bag for emergency snacks!

BrawneLamia · 12/09/2017 13:41

We were sent Disney Kitchen Toddler snacks bundle 2:
Melty twists
Fruity flapjacks
Mini wholegrain biscuits
I tested them on my children aged 4 and 21 months.

What did were your first impression on the product?
The biscuits came in brightly coloured Disney themed packaging. My children liked it but to be honest it didn’t appeal to me. The other products were in clear plastic wrapping which I assume was because they were samples, so it is hard to say.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
They both liked everything! I tried them too. I thought the biscuits had a strange flavour, especially the strawberry ones, but the DC liked them. The flapjacks were small but very sweet. They would be good for when the children need a high energy snack eg at soft play. The melty twists were the favourite. The tomato ones tasted like wotsits, I would happily eat them myself.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
The flapjacks seemed a bit small, but they were very sweet so this was probably a good thing. My four year old ate the whole pack of biscuits, but the toddler only ate about half so I saved the rest for later.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
The children liked the packaging, but personally I wasn’t keen. I suppose I prefer to buy products which are marketed as being healthy, so I wouldn’t have picked these off the shelf. The Annabel Karmel connection would be more appealing to me, so I think you should emphasize this. Only the biscuits came in the official packaging, so I can’t comment on the twists or the flapjacks.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I don’t have a current brand, I tend to buy what is on offer, but I would definitely consider these if the price was right.

Thank you!

Mammatron · 12/09/2017 13:54

What did were your first impression on the product?
◦ Melty twists: my son giggled when he saw these so his first impression was obviously good! They're basically a giant crisp.
◦ Fruity flapjacks: my first impression was that they look like a healthy nutritious snack
◦ Mini wholegrain biscuits: my son instantly reached for these when I opened them, a good size biscuit for little hands.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
◦ Melty twists: my son was getting grizzly in the car so I handed him a melty twist to appease him, my son enjoyed the taste and loved the texture- he had great fun squishing it into smithereens and covering his car seat in crumbs. Next time he's only going to be eating these in a place where I don't mind him making a mess!
◦ Fruity flapjacks: my son seemed to enjoy these, I tried a little bit and found it delicious so would happily eat a whole one to myself.
◦ Mini wholegrain biscuits: my son enjoyed both flavours but especially liked the apple flavour.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
◦ Melty twists: my son liked how big these are, I gave him the first one whole but after seeing the mess he made of that I broke the second into smaller pieces for him!
◦ Fruity flapjacks: good size for little hands.
◦ Mini wholegrain biscuits: again, a perfect size for little hands & just the right amount.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
◦ Melty twists: these came in plain foil packaging.
◦ Fruity flapjacks: these came in plain clear packaging.
◦ Mini wholegrain biscuits: bright colourful packaging with Disney characters, enticing for little people!
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I would purchase all of these products again.
