Also forgot to mention with packaging that DD at only just 2 wasn't too fussed. The packaging is not my style but Disney is. The packaging is bright enough and the familiar icon of Mickey Mouse does make it stand out for sure.

outofmymind2 · 13/09/2017 09:05

What did were your first impression on the product?
Colourful packaging. The twists were a bit awkward to eat and very crumbly. Flapjacks went down amazingly and DS asked for more.
Mini biscuits were really tasty.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Really liked the flavours of all the snacks, enjoyed how sticky flapjack was but kept it in wrapper so his fingers didn't get sticky. Enjoyed the broccoli twist but said it was hard to eat and hold - big for a snack.
Enjoyed the flavour of the biscuits and how snack sized they are.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
Flapjack & biscuits great sized, perfect snacks.
Twists too big for snacks. Better as a pack of 3/4 small mouthful sized twists.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Mickey on the front enticed DS into eating them. He liked the bright colours.
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Will be putting some of the snacks in our food shop from now on as long as the price isn't extortionate purely for the branded name.

Bangkokbaby · 13/09/2017 10:01

What did were your first impression on the product?
Product was in clear plastic bags so didn't get to see original packaging until I saw the attached info sheet. Products looked interesting, but all of a similar brown colour

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My girls are 2 so limited in what they are able to tell me. They said that the fruity bakes were yummy and have asked for them again. They refused to eat the breadsticks, despite usually liking breadsticks. I think they were a bit crunchy for them and didn't really soften up when sucked. They used them to dip in humus, but still didn't eat them.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I found the pack sizes ok. I have loads of the breadsticks left as they wont eat them, so makes me feel like the pack size was too big, however I'm sure they could have finished them if they liked it!

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Mine were all in clear packaging so wast really clear to the girls that they were Disney. I think this would have made a big difference as they are huge mickey fans!

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
We don't tend to buy pre packaged snacks, but would give other things in the range a try.

JadeA92 · 13/09/2017 10:27

What did were your first impression on the product?
They looked fun and we could easily identify the characters and brand.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
He seemed to really enjoy them! Especially the fruity flapjacks (which he'd never tried before) and because he's teething, I think these felt really nice on his gums.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I liked that the wholegrain biscuits are a multipack, which made it so much easier for him to eat on the go! I just popped a pack in his bag and he could snack on these throughout the day.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Fun and creative.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen
Providing they are affordable, then yes.

What did were your first impression on the product?

My first response was pleasant surprise as they had Anna Karmel's name on as well - I was a little worried they'd be a bit cheap and synthetic (as kid's character branded stuff often is!).

Flapjacks looked a little small, but I liked that due to my son being on the younger end of toddlerdom. Twists looked massive!

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

He loved everything - he's quite easy going with food though.

*The mini-biscuits he was very enthusiastic about, both the apple and strawberry flavours.

*He also loved the melty twists, but it took him a bit longer to figure out how to eat them!

*He happily shovelled the flapjacks into his mouth, but I wasn't keen on how sticky they were. He ended up with sticky oats on his bum (he's 13 months old, so still a messy eater).

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Sizes all seemed perfect, I was surprised at how many mini biscuits were in a pack. The twists encouraged his problem solving skills (he figured out how to break them into bite-sized pieces).

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Only the biscuits had the proper branding, it all looked good though. He's a little young to get excited over characters at the moment though.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

I'd certainly consider it - the sugar levels and ingredients are comparable to what I buy already (and I'd totally eat the melty twists myself, they were delicious!)

emmav6 · 13/09/2017 11:26

we tested bundle one:
First impression on the product?
quite plain looking without the packaging and slightly concerned my LG would turn her nose up at them but she tucked straight into both types of snack!

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
the breadsticks were not to hard and crumbled nicely for her to eat safely. I like that she couldn't demolish them in seconds like the bakes.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
i like the sticks in small packs so they don't go stale, the pack i received lasted 4 days. the bakes are great in separate wrappers.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
ours were in plain clear bags so no, not like this. Looks great on the pictures though.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
If it was at a competitive price - yes

GeekyWombat · 13/09/2017 11:29

What did were your first impression on the product?

I was confused as to how Parmesan breadsticks wouldn't be vegetarian friendly. I thought the fruity bakes looked like old style fig rolls which made me want to nab one

I was also intrigued as to how the kids would take to them as they were in non-branded packaging - we regularly have little bags of apple and cinnamon biscuits (known in our house as 'Mickey biscuits') and they love them, but I've always wondered how much the Mickey packaging affected their popularity.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

The breadsticks were a big hit with both my 1-year-old and 3-year-old (although the 1yo was less interested in the tomatoey ones). They went down particularly well with dip as they were, obviously, quite dry. I loved the size of them, made them much more convenient for snack boxes than our usual brand. I also liked that they seemed to be wholegrain - definitely a bit better for them too!

The fruity bakes were hoovered up. I snaffled a bit and loved the flavour too. 3yo said 'it was like a biscuit AND a cake'. I'm not sure she's right but she was very impressed.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Ours wasn't in packaging so I'm not sure what the pack sizes would be.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

We didn't get packaging. The info leaflet looked pretty though!

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

We'd swap to these breadsticks (the Parmesan ones especially) in a heart beat, and I'd be tempted to get some fruity bakes for a change from our usual Mickey biscuits. That said, I stockpile those on special at Poundland - I'd hope price wise they were a similar deal.

Thanks for sending them through though - DC were excited at 'Mickey post' when they saw the leaflet.

Blizy · 13/09/2017 13:30

What did were your first impression on the product?
They looked OK, typical to other toddler snacks

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
We both didn't like the taste of the breadsticks (we had the Parmesan and tomato flavour). The texture was pretty horrible, a bit like dry cardboard!
However, my ds loves the baked bars in taste and texture.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
The pack size is ideal for a toddler and perfect for packing in bag for days out.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Ours arrived in clear non branded packaging, so can't comment.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? I wouldn't swap our usual breadsticks but would definitely buy the baked bars for me ds.

beanie623 · 13/09/2017 14:31

What did were your first impression on the product?

biscuits - were in nice packaging, nice small easy size for little ones. would grab attention easily as my son looking in box with most interest.
Twists - Interesting shape, on paper packaging again looked nice abd appealing
Flapjacks - Small in size, looked a little dark. Small not being a bad thing looked great for a finger food for little ones

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
The first thing we tried was the flapjacks, as found when opening the product very very sticky but did not put my son off at all, He loved these a lot, he had no favourites between the blackcurrant and raspberry they both went down great, the little he shared with me (loves sharing) I found both very nice too, and a great change of snack although having make sure baby wipes ready to wipe hands! They were certainly more on the sweeter side.
We tried the twists at different lunch times, the first one was the broccoli and cheese, After figuring out they were to eat, He seemed to quite like this one, lots of fun to play with too! I found the taste was ever such a hint of cheese and the texture was interesting not like many corn snacks we have had before.
The sweet pepper was a one bite wonder and lost all interest completely, did not want to try anymore, the taste of this one is what I found nothing at all! very bland and uninteresting.
Both biscuits have been a huge hit, the taste I found was bot too sweet and quite subtle. My son has devoured both and seems to like chewing for quite a long time.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
The sizes were great for little hands, They all were easy to pick up hold and eat which is great for food to mouth learning. And also great for different uses such as if going out they wooldnt be space consuming and easy to take around

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
A great loveable character and bright packaging, it catches attention and simple enough to find information you may need

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
A definite new buyer here, for the bisuits and flapjacks, and looking into more items. They were great and non fussy, thankyou!

TableMirror · 13/09/2017 16:48

Disney Kitchen Toddler snacks bundle 2
Melty twists
Fruity flapjacks
Mini wholegrain biscuits

What did were your first impression on the product?
The melty twists remind me of turkey twizzlers, cartoon branding makes me think cheap snacks. The flapjacks were quite sticky.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
He seemed to like everything apart from the apple biscuits. But he will eat anything.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Packet of biscuits a bit big for a two year old, I split into two servings
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
The melty twists would be handy for a packet lunch BUT they have literally no nutritional value, pointless food.
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
No, I prefer my child to eat smaller portions of 'proper' food than bland child focused foods.

DoubleMammy · 13/09/2017 21:28

Bundle 1

What did were your first impression on the product?

The fruity bakes looked nice, I wasn't keen on the appearance of the breadsticks, I didn't think they looked very appetising.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

Both children enjoyed all of the snacks. The fruity bakes were especially a hit and my daughter loved the Parmesan bread sticks.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Good bite size snacks, good pack size. Would be really handy to put in handbag/changing bag for when we are out.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Mine came in clear packets, it was not in a Disney branded packaging.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

Yes, probably. I would definitely buy more of the fruity bakes.

duggerlugs · 14/09/2017 05:50

What were your first impression on the product?
The twists were just in plain silver foil so can't comment on Disney branding. I've seen the biscuits in shops and my little girl likes the strawberry and Disney pic. Flapjack were in small see through packets so unassuming.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Little girl did nibble the twist then said yuck but Daddy enjoyed as an adult snack.
She's already tried the biscuits and likes. She likes the raspberry flapjack but only ate half blackcurrant but that may have been a less eating day.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
The twists are too big for snacks to fit in box to go with lunch and obviously easily battered. Flapjack could be bigger more like the Tesco flapjack or hobnob size ones. Bisxuits are sealed and handy so good choice.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?Because of the sizing I wouldn't swap unless my little one expressly asked.

Thanks for the opportunity to test it encourages my little girl to try 2 new items and i have realised she is extremely discerning over food!

Ecadia · 14/09/2017 07:14

Still haven't received mine yet will leave review when they arrive

jaggythistle · 14/09/2017 12:29

We tested pack 1, bread sticks and fruity bakes.

What were your first impressions of the product?

The fruity bakes are a nice size for wee hands, bread sticks also chunky.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

*My 2 year old loved the fruity bakes, she couldn't eat the first one ( berry ) fast enough. She liked all 3 varieties.

The bread sticks are a nice texture, crunchy but a bit softer/ less brittle than ordinary ones. She and my 2 older DC liked the parmesan ones but weren't so keen on the tomato ones. (I quite liked them Grin )*

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Fruity bakes a nice size. Bread sticks quite a big bag, fine to share.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Nice colourful packaging, all 3 kids liked to see Mickey on it. ( ours came in clear bags but we looked at the pictures)

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

I'd maybe buy 2yo DD the fruit bakes as she enjoyed them.

cannotmakemymindup · 14/09/2017 13:33

We tried Pack No. 1

What did were your first impression on the product?
The packs were a good size, products looked well made.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
She loved the breadsticks and said they were tasty and her favourite.
Fruity bakes she wasn't so interested in. She said it wasn't sweet enough - although they are but I think because the dough around the fruit isn't to sweet and you have to eat the middle before you realise it is sweet maybe why she said that. Definitely like a lovely fig roll but softer.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Fruity bakes perfect size.
Breadsticks to generous a size pack. Probably need two to four in a pack. If it's individual packs within a multipack.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
None of our food was in official branded packaging. Just clear with carefully labelled allergens. Wasn't sure whether you had labelled for vegetarian?

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I don't currently purchase breadsticks or fruity bakes from anyone but as the breadsticks were such a hit I would consider purchasing in the future.

OnMyShoulders · 14/09/2017 17:44

What did were your first impression on the product?

My first impression was that they look very rustic! (good thing 🙂) The breadsticks looked exactly like tiny little ciabatta loaves!

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

Delicious! As soon as I opened the packet for her, I could smell the fruit in the bakes and the seasoning on the breadsticks.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

I thought the breadsticks were just about right in terms of pack size, but the fruity bakes were too small. My DD would eat two or three of those in one sitting.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Ours didn't come in the packaging, just in clear cellophane and this put DD off wanting to try them. There was an A4 sheet included though which demonstrated the design. Personally, I thought it made the product look very artificial. The packaging alone would probably make me walk right past and dismiss the products as being 'rubbish'.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

I normally buy Asda or Tesco brand breadsticks and Go Ahead fruity bakes. As well as my 4 year old DD, my older DC ages 8-15 eat them too and although I much prefer these, I don't think the older ones would go for the Disney packaging! I'd buy them just for DD4 though.

Thank you for letting us trial them Smile

magjas0 · 14/09/2017 22:30

What did were your first impression on the product?
Very nice and eye catching packaging, my girl loved Mickey Mouse. Snacks were looking yummy.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
No for flapjacks as too sweet and too sticky. No for melty twists as it was so easy to break them and my girl does not like messy food. Besides, I think they did not have enough flavour.
Biscuits - my girl started with strawberry and vanilla ones, because as she said 'they are pink, so they are for girls', but she did not enjoy them much. She tried only one apple one and said she doesn't like it.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
Size of all snacks is about right.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Colourful, with Disney creatures - perfect for kids, eye catching.
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
No, not tasty enough as per my girl. But I'm keen to buy her fruity bakes and to see if she likes them

feeona123 · 14/09/2017 22:40

First impressions: The products looked new and exciting and very tasty.

Taste: Both of my kids liked all of the products, they went down very well! They did start off eating the melts but didn't finish them. I loved the flapjacks and so did the kids. I'm glad we got a few packs of biscuits, as they want them all the time.

Size: I think the melts are too big, I think they should be half the size they are. Neither of my kids finished the melts, just had about half. The flapjack bars were a great snack size and the biscuits are a good size to share between two or have half a packet at once.

Packaging: I like the colours on the packaging and also Mickey. My kids are into characters so liked it as well.

Swap: Yes I think I would do an occasional swap from my current brand to this new one as the kids really liked them and so did I!

Helen2385 · 14/09/2017 23:32

Hi,
We tested bundle 1.

What did were your first impression on the product?
Not very impressed. Thought they looked a bit bland and boring.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My kids (2yo&4yo) disliked both flavours of bread sticks. I tried them myself and I'm afraid I didn't find them very appetising either.
The fruity bakes went down very well, they both enjoyed all 3 flavours and have since asked me to get more in.

What did you like about the format/pack size? Fruity bakes, would happily buy a bigger pack size. They're all individually wrapped so could just grab a could for lunch boxes, backpacks etc.
Breadsticks good size pack, but none of that matters if they don't taste great.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
The packaging looks fun, would definitely engage with the kids. Where is Minnie though??

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Would not swap the bread sticks but would definitely buy the fruity bakes from now on.

Alexandra87 · 15/09/2017 11:49

What did were your first impression on the product?

First impressions were they didn't look at all appetising. Breadsticks looked dark and dry. Fruit bakes looked ok but not very appealing.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My son did not like any of the products and he is not a fussy eater at all. The breadsticks were so hard I nearly broke my teeth. The fruit bakes were edible but that's about it.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Fruit bakes were perfect size. Seems a large portion of breadsticks for a toddler my 6&7 year olds wouldn't finish them.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

The packaging was the only good part of the product. Obviously if children see something with Mickey Mouse on they're going to want it. Unfortunately this makes me like the product less as my son is likely to ask for them then be unhappy that I don't buy them because I know he won't eat them.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Definitely not. There are some fantastic toddler snacks out there. Sticking Disney characters on a pack of substandard food does not make it better quality.

Deedee75 · 15/09/2017 12:14

What did were your first impression on the product?
I received bundle 1, and all the products were in clear bags, with only pictures of the packaging, which looked colourful and bright. The breadsticks looked slightly fatter than what we usually buy, and the fruity bakes looked just like fig rolls.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My child seemed to enjoy both products, although was more keen on the tomato breadsticks than the Parmesan cheese ones. Initially he was reticent to try them since they are different to the ones I usually buy. I also enjoyed the herby flavour of the tomato and herb breadsticks, but I felt the parmasan cheese ones didn't really have any flavour to them. The fruity bakes were tasty, although seemed slightly dry.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
pack size for breadsticks seemed a good size bag and similar to others I buy, although I never give that many for one snack. Fruity bakes were ideal sized for an individual snack.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
I can only comment on the pictures of the packaging, but it was bright and attractive.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Maybe, depending on price.

glitter27 · 15/09/2017 12:18

Disney Kitchen Toddler snacks bundle 1
Fruity bakes
Italian Breadsticks

The packaging was clear so can't comment on that. My 2 year old loved all the snacks, but she particularly liked the cheese breadsticks. I like the size of the fruity bakes and breadsticks as they are easy to hold and good for a quick and healthy snack.

I had a little taste before I gave them to my daughter and they are very tasty.

I would definitely buy them if they are not too expensive.

hldf123 · 15/09/2017 13:13

What did were your first impression on the product?
looked cute attractive to children

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

they loved the flapjack and happily ate all of them, they didn't like the savoury twists, they were to large, they didn't like the taste either

What did you like about the format/pack size?
the pack sizes are good for on the go

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
its cute and was easy to get the kids to try

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
maybe for a change but would not replace

Helspopje · 15/09/2017 13:21

What did were your first impression on the product?

I doubt they were in their final.as sold packaging as see thru or plain foil wrappers with a sticker on didn't scream 'eat me'

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

They liked the twists but both spat out the flapjacks and biscuits. I tried an apple biscuit - tasted horrid

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Flapjacks were very small. Ok for the younger end of the range but I tried this on my 4yr old

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
As above, I don't think we got it in as would be bought packaging

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
No

CountingDownToBedtime · 15/09/2017 14:10

I tested bundle 2 with my 18 month old Son.My first impression was the flapjacks are tiny but as they are very sweet that's probably why,& the melty twists are an unusual shape for babies snacks.
I thought the flapjacks were very sticky, but my Son enjoyed them, the wholegrain biscuits were perfect texture & he enjoyed them.My Son enjoyed the melty twists,so must have found them tasty.
Thought the snacks were just the right size for little hands.
The packaging on the biscuits was fun,but very plain on the flapjacks on the flapjacks & melty twists, but I assume these will be on sale in colourful boxes.
Liked the nice colour packaging on the biscuits, but unless these are a good price am not sure would swap from current brands we use.
