What did were your first impression on the product?
We received bundle 1. I thought that the fruity bakes looked appetising and the right size for a small snack for a toddler. The breadsticks were chunkier than I expected and looked full of flavour.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Both my two year old and my six year old liked the fruity bakes but didn't finish them. They didn't choose them over their usual Organix flapjacks (even though I think they are much tastier). My two year old, who normally loves breadsticks, licked the Parmesan one and then refused to eat it. He ate half the tomato one. I thought they were flavourful but quite tough to chew.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
A good size for snacking out and about.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
The bundle that I received came in clear packaging - I'm assuming it will look different in the shops.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I might try the fruity bakes again but will probably stick to a different brand of breadsticks.

Leiajulie · 12/09/2017 17:14

went down a treat here

Brisgirl · 12/09/2017 17:27

Bundle 1

First impressions: impressed with flavours and size of both breadsticks and fruity bakes

Taste and texture:
The fruity bakes went down an absolute treat. He ate a couple of breadsticks on the first day but hasn't gone back for them since. I think they're quite a coarse texture and not as flavoursome as they could be. Definitely not as smooth and 'melty' as other breadsticks.

Pack size is great for taking out and about so very handy.

Our packaging was just clear plastic bags and we had pictures of what it might look like so no comment on the Disney packaging.

We would definitely try the fruity bakes again but wouldn't buy the breadsticks. Shame as they're a great size and idea.

embarassedmum2017 · 12/09/2017 17:29

What did were your first impression on the product?
The products looked very appealing especially mini wholegrain biscuits. It is a good alternative to the custard cream she seems to really like now. She loved the packaging as she loves Mickey mouse. I particularly like the small pack sizes as it is handy to take out and about.
The flapjack and cheesy twists were in what I assume is not the final packaging as the current packaging did not appeal to my 2 year old.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
She didn't like the biscuits at first taste but it is growing on her. My son loved the cheesy twists and flapjack.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
The pack size is ideal for taking out and about and is just about the size to satisfy a toddler with no leftovers.
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
The plain packaging was not appealing to.my little one but she loved the Mickey mouse one.
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I would definitely try the biscuits and possibly the cheesy twists provided the price is right.

clareken260 · 12/09/2017 17:31

First impressions, fruity bakes were a nice size, bread sticks were quite chunky.
Taste/Texture, lo enjoyed the fruity bakes, and had help from her brother, who liked them too. She preferred the tomato breadsticks, but struggled a bit with how chunky they were.
Pack Size, good for out and about.
Packaging, the snacks came in clear wrapping, but she liked the characters on the nutritional information.
Would I swap? Might buy them if they were on offer.

fish88 · 12/09/2017 18:01

What did were your first impression on the product?
They looked appetizing, packaging was boring.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
She really liked the fruity bakes, she ate the Parmesan breadsticks but not the tomato ones.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
The fruity bakes were a perfect size for my 11 month old to have as a snack. She could only manage 2 breadsticks at a time so the rest of the pack started to get stale.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
It came in clear bags rather than disney packaging.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Depending on the price I would buy the fruity bakes again.

19angel77 · 12/09/2017 18:01

My thoughts on the packaging were that they could have been more colourful with different characters on.
My 2 year old son loved the fruit bakes, but wasn't overly keen on the flavoured breadsticks although his friends at playgroup seemed to enjoy them.
Would definitely buy the fruit bakes and would love to try the flapjacks and might get a pack of breadsticks

Changingagain · 12/09/2017 18:44

What did were your first impression on the product?
That they looked much plainer than I expected from Disney and that they would be easy to keep in my bag for when we're out.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
With all flavours of the fruity bakes, he took a bite, chewed it up and spat it out. So he clearly didn't like those. He ate one cheesy breadstick but didn't want any more so I think he was impartial on those. The tomato breadsticks were given back to me as soon as he got the first taste.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
The fruity bakes were wrapped individually which is convenient. The breadsticks were in bags of I think about 10, which I would have transferred to a ziplock bag and kept in my handbag if he had enjoyed them.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
They were in clear packaging which I assume isn't what they're sold in.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Definitely not as my son didn't like them.

BirgitteNyborg · 12/09/2017 19:04

What did were your first impression on the product?

I thought the products looked good. Didn't like the packaging tho. Too busy.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

Not good. Dry and chewy :( Parmesan breadsticks bland and flavourless. Tomato ones a bit better.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

Pack size was good.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

I thought it was a bit too busy.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

No. We didn't like them :( V disappointing as my kids normally love breadsticks.

Florida123 · 12/09/2017 20:02

We tested the Disney Kitchen Toddler snacks bundle 2.

What did were your first impression on the product?

  • Melty Twists: Unusual size, almost like a small banana! Perfect for weaning as good for chewing on / holding in a small fist.
  • Fruity flapjacks: Came in clear packaging. Looked extremely tempting! Thankfully not too big a size, wouldn't have been comfortable with that.
  • Mini wholegrain biscuits: Bright, colourful packaging - very eye-catching.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

  • Melty Twists: She really liked these, particularly the one with sweet pepper. Asked for more!
  • Fruity flapjacks: LOVED these as they were so sweet. Good job that they're not too big!
  • Mini wholegrain biscuits: Wasn't keen on either. I tried one and it was a bit dry.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
All the packs were snacking size, perfect for holding in your handbag for when the need arises.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Familiar, friendly, eye-catching.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? We don't buy that many snacks, however, I would buy these now and again. The flapjacks are rather tasty!

ImSoUnoriginal · 12/09/2017 20:15

What were your first impressions of the product?
Looked interesting. Was intrigued by the melty twists.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
He loved the oat bars (I thought they were a bit sticky and could see them getting welded to clothes/furniture), wasn't fussed with the melty twists (think he prefers normal baby crisps) and liked the biscuits so much, we bought him some more. He particularly liked the strawberry and vanilla ones.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
Pack sizes seemed just right.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
It's not my favourite but I'd overlook that since my fussy child liked them.
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I would swap to the biscuits. Although he liked the oat bars, the stickiness of them would put me off them.

iamcalledemma · 12/09/2017 20:24

Myself and my 2.5yo son tested the Bundle 1 snacks.

What did were your first impression on the product?

The breadsticks looked quite chunky compared to the ones we normally buy, and the fruit bakes looked a bit beige and not very inspiring to look at.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

My 2.5yo son loved the fruity bakes and asked for another one as soon as he finished them. He seems to like all the flavours. The breadsticks didn't disappear as fast, he seemed to prefer the Parmesan flavour. He only ate two or three out of the pack before leaving them but did go back and finish it later in the day.

I had a little bite of the apple and strawberry fruity bakes, and thought the strawberry was very, very sweet, which made me wonder about the sugar content but the apple one was quite nice. The breadsticks were quite crunchy and a weird texture, and I wasn't sure about the flavour of the tomato ones but I liked the parmesan ones.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

They were both of a good size, I liked the individual wrapping of the fruity bake, it made it very easy to put in the bag for snacks.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

Mine came in clear cellophane, but looking at the leaflet it looks enticing for a toddler, very colourful with characters on. I tend to avoid buying products with cartoon characters on, I would prefer a generic animal or something.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

I would probably buy the fruity bakes, we don't buy anythng similar at all and they went down well and I liked the individual wrapping. We buy similar sized packs of breadsticks already and I don't think I would switch to these, he eats more of the plain flavoured ones we currently buy.

Thanks for letting us test these!

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 12/09/2017 20:24

Bundle 1 tester.

What did were your first impression on the product?
Looked interesting and my kids were desperate to try them all.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Both my children loved the breadsticks but weren't so keen on the fruity bakes apart from the apple one.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Nice size and the bakes came in their own little packets.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Bright and eye catching.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Not sure yet - depends on the price.

DillieDoily · 12/09/2017 20:42

What did were your first impression on the product?
We received bundle 1. The products weren't in the official Disney packaging but instead in clear packets. My DS(5) immediately wanted the eat the apple fruity bakes and he really enjoyed them. My DD (2) also liked the look of the Fruity Bakes. Neither of them were keen on the look of the breadsticks and in fact refused to believe that they were breadsticks (obviously too used to the thinner, smooth breadsticks).

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Neither of them liked the taste or texture of the breadsticks- too hard, tough and crunchy. Both liked the fruity bakes but only my son finished one.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
A good size for snacks- liked the fact they were individually portioned and wrapped

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
The bundle that I received came in clear packaging - I'm sure my DC would prefer the bright Disney packaging!

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I might try the fruity bakes again but will probably stick to supermarket own brand breadsticks.

AWhistlingWoman · 12/09/2017 20:43

Bundle one tested by DD3 (aged 3) with DS1 (aged 6) and DD2 (aged 9) hovering like vultures in the background

What did were your first impression on the product?
Despite the plain packaging the kids were all extremely keen to the try them. I immediately liked the size of the fruity bakes as they looked just right for DD3. The breadsticks looked as though they would be full of flavour, quite different from the plain ones we usually have at the moment. Quite a large helping in each packet of breadsticks.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
The fruity bakes did not last ten seconds from when I had confirmed she was allowed to eat them so I am assuming DD3 thought they were delicious. Older two didn't get a look in with these! When pushed for her favourite flavour she said, 'strawberry.'

Everyone was keen to try these, the parmesan ones soon disappeared but the tomato ones lingered and nobody seemed to keen. I tried one and found it quite dry. There are quite a lot of breadsticks in a packet and I think you would need a dip or a drink of water to make it through the whole back, certainly the tomato ones.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I thought that the pack size for the fruity bakes was ideal, a lovely snack to have on the way home from preschool etc.

The breadsticks I thought the pack was a little large, especially given that they are quite dry.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
All our snacks came in clear packaging but DD3 did notice the Disney branded leaflet that came in with it. She is currently very keen on Mickey Mouse and was excited by the proposed packaging.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
I might for the fruity bakes, we tend to by Goodies bars but DD3 can sometimes find them a little bit much for her and gives up half way. I might be tempted by the parmesan breadsticks if they were on special offer but I think I would have to pass on the tomato flavour ones I think we might even still have some left in the bag which is a bit of a rarity in this house, someone will hoover most edible stuff up!

Thank you for the opportunity to try them!

What did were your first impression on the product? Very good. He looked at them all and was very excited to try them
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture? He loved them. Esp the cakes!
What did you like about the format/pack size? It was enough for him
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? It's cute and has his favourite characters on it. Means he will chose it
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? Yes

LovelyBranches · 12/09/2017 21:14

What did were your first impression of the product?

The malty twists were different to anything I'd given to my DS before. It looked like a big giant crisp and I don't think I would have wanted him to eat it all in one go. Thankfully he didn't, although he did enjoy it. Possibly a bit too big portion wise.

The fruity flapjacks didn't come in packaging but they looked as if they had bits of fruit in and they seemed like a good size for a snack.

The mini biscuits came in bright colourful packaging which I would normally avoid thinking that it meant that it was full of food colourings but this didn't seem to be. The biscuits looked a good size and consistency.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

Ds enjoyed each of the snacks, the flapjacks were his favourite but the biscuits were mine as they were easy to pop in my bag and give when required. The melty twist was enjoyed but it may have been too big for my DS.

What did you like about the format/pack size?

It's not the style of packaging that would normally attract me, I prefer much more adult led packaging that emphasises nutritional content but DS loved the packaging and was keen to get stuck in. He very much enjoyed this taste test and it's nice to see him enthusiastic about food.

The size of product was great except for the melty twist which is too big.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?

My DS loved it as a parent I look for emphasis on nutritional qualities. This had this info but it didn't instantly draw my attention.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?

I would. Thank you for giving us the chance to try this out.

Amaksy · 12/09/2017 22:38

We got to try the Disney Kitchen Toddler snacks bundle 1 - Fruity bakes
& Italian Breadsticks

What did were your first impression on the product? I thought they were good sizes, not too big or too small, an ideal size for a snack not too filling too so can have between meals.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture? Very tasty - not any hint of artificial flavours, very natural so must be nutritional.

What did you like about the format/pack size? Great size - enough for my LO who's 2 great to pack in bags/ lunch boxes too when on the go!

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging? Oh can only go from the poster, guess it would've been nice to have these on the wrappers to actually imagine for real. I did think a lot of green with pink/red/yellow was a bit much.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen? Maybe not swap completely but use alongside as I noticed the snacks contained sugar and I'd rather opt for no-added sugar range. And due to child's flare up too I normally tend to avoid milk, soya and eggs so might not be completely on board to swap.

Ditsy79 · 12/09/2017 23:14

We received the bread sticks and fruity bakes.
What did were your first impression on the product?
They looked quite rustic, and looked appealing. The pictures of the packaging were attractive.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My 4-year old daughter took one bite of the bread stick and refused to eat any more. We tasted them and both flavours were pretty bland (although this is due to the low salt content). The tomato bread sticks were slightly more palatable than the parmesan ones, but both had a bit of a stale texture.
The fruity bakes unfortunately didn't go down much better with my daughter. She said they were too sweet. We tasted them too, and agree they are very very sweet. They also left a funny chalky taste in the mouth for a while after.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Good size for taking out and about.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Colourful

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
No, my daughter didn't like them at all and I was a bit shocked at the long list of ingredients in the fruity bakes (lots of different forms of sugar: Glucose, dextrose, fructose, sucrose, honey - it's all sugar.

Lacystacie · 12/09/2017 23:31

Disney Kitchen Toddler snacks bundle 2
Melty twists
Fruity flapjacks
Mini wholegrain biscuits

What did were your first impression on the product?
Fruity flapjacks:
looked lovely in the see through package and smelt delicious
Mini wholegrain biscuits:
the packaging was bright and attractive my child instantly recognised the character on it, smelt very strong it was slightly overpowering but child didn't seem bothered b this
Melty twists:
the melty twists are huge but that didnt stop my child diving in and munching it.
What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
Melty twists:
she enjoyed the taste of the both and enjoyed how crunchy they are
Fruity flapjacks:
she thought they where slightly too sticky but loved the taste and so did i.
Mini wholegrain biscuits:
lovely little biscuits and she liked that they where small, she devoured both flavours in a few minutes so she definatly enjoyed the taste.
What did you like about the format/pack size?
perfect size for snacks and each one was equally filling to her
What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
its bright and easily recognisable for children, all the information is well presented and easy to read
Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
yes quite happily i willl also be recommending the new range to friends and family

Jedimum1 · 13/09/2017 00:41

What did were your first impression on the product?
The look is a first odd at first, the bread sticks look a bit like little sausages, a bit thicker than usual. It looks quite "homemade" too, which I guess is not a bad thing!

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
My DS(2.5) loved the tomato based ones and finished a whole bag in minutes. He didn't like the fruity bakes, though. My DD(4y 10m) liked both and snacked on them all afternoon. I tried the tomato one as it was quite nice flavour and texture. Not overly keen on the parmesan ones.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
I felt the bag was on the small side, but maybe it's because the bread sticks are thicker than other brands.

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Not much, to be fair. I saw an issue with Mickey. It's a character they recognise but doesn't arise any curiosity. It's also a character that usually is sold to boys and opposed to Minnie, so some might assume that is being marketed at boys. That said, I'm a bit fed up with this gender division, I have a boy and a girl and I'd like to but something that is more neutral. I think they could add both characters to the pack (Mickey and Minnie) or go with something more up to date, even a mix of characters. I like the background colours in general.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
If the price was right, yes.

Jayjayharrychops · 13/09/2017 02:47

First impressions ?

The products were in clear plastic bags so I cannot comment on the packaging.

What did you/your child think of the taste ?

The Parmesan breadsticks did not really taste of much the kids though they were just salty. The tomato breadsticks on the other hand were full of flavour & my kids loved them.
The biscuits went down a treat with a cuppa for afternoon tea & left the kids asking for more.

Format/pack size?

The size of the treat bags I thought were very generous & a perfect size for a between meal snack. As I received the treats all in clear plastic bags I cannot comment further.

What did you think about the packaging?

As I received the treats all in clear plastic bags I cannot comment further.

Would you swap from your current brand ?

I would definitely consider buying some of the products.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Yes they have been a real hit!

What did were your first impression on the product?

They was a great selection of products and flavours. We were very pleased to trial them.

What did you/your child think of the taste/texture?
He liked them all but particularly the fruity bakes and the biscuits. I think he found the concept of the melty twist bizarre but still ate them. The flapjack was too sticky.

What did you like about the format/pack size?
Fine

What did you like about the Disney Kitchen packaging?
Bright and informative.

Would you swap your current brand to try Disney Kitchen?
Depends on price but probably for the fruity bakes and biscuits.

Thanks

CherriesInTheSnow · 13/09/2017 09:01

Lovely variety of products :) As there are a few different ones I will try and keep this succinct:

Melty twists: My DD really liked both of these flavours, particularly the cheese and broccoli ones. I found the format (one "roll" of crisps" a bit unusual and slightly impractical if you are on the go, as you have to break it up anyway. Taste and texture were great though!

My DD loved the flapjacks too and I also tasted them; they're a good snack size and actually very tasty and fruity. They are a bit wetter/sticker than other flapjacks we have tried or made at home though!

The mini biscuits were both lovely, fruity and without tasting unnatural and perfect shape size and texture for small children to take out to the park etc without making a big mess. I would definitely buy all of these products again!
