This thread is for the Mumsnetters who are currently testing out the AddWash™ WW8500 Washing Machine.

Here’s what Samsung have to say: “We wanted a washing machine that simply adapts to consumers, not for consumers to have to adapt to their machines. Our AddWash™ range reflects Samsung’s commitment to marrying beautiful design and practical innovations to create appliances that help be more efficient”.
Ashwin Gouveia - Senior Product Manager – Laundry (Samsung UK)

Testers:
Once your machine has arrived, please tell us:

  1. What are your first impressions of how the machine looks?
  2. Having read the instruction manual, which features are you most excited about using?

After having a few days to test your machine, we’d love to know:
3) Are you pleased with how the machine washes? Why?
4) How is this machine different to your previous model?

Finally, now that you’ve had your machine for over a week, please tell us:
5) What is your favourite feature and why?
6) Would you recommend the Samsung AddWash™ WW8500 to a friend? Why?

Please also add your review to the Mumsnet reviews section here.

Non – testers, for the chance to win a £300 voucher, please answer the following question:
If you could add a magic feature to your washing machine, what life-changing function would it have? Would it make your clothes magically repel creases, or hang up your clothes automatically? Would it have a super quick wash cycle for those nights where someone urgently needs a clean PE kit? Would it have a sensor to locate those odd socks?

Whatever your idea, please post it as a comment below. All who post a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a £300 love2shop voucher.

Non tester.
Please an I have a machine that spots stains, and scrubs them out, so everything comes out spotless.

Ntinyn · 13/12/2016 06:45

Non tester: we don't have a tumble dryer so I'd like a function where the clothes can be hung up themselves!

Umirrific · 13/12/2016 06:51

Non-tester. A washing machine that washed, dried, de-wrinkled and folded without ruining any clothes would be the best thing ever!

MakeTeaNotWar · 13/12/2016 09:15

Non tester - clothes would come out ironed and folded and all out themselves away in the right places!

FlukeSkyeRunner · 13/12/2016 10:44

Non tester - a function that pairs socks.

GruffaloPants · 13/12/2016 12:31

Non tester here.

I'd love a super fast machine that delivers clothes washed, dried, ironed and folded Grin

RichTeaAreCrap · 13/12/2016 12:57

Non tester here. I would love a washer that was self cleaning so that the draw and seal didnt get clogged up and need cleaning to prevent it getting black mouldy gunk in them.

Moogdroog · 13/12/2016 14:46

Non tester here - if my washing machine could have a magic function, it would refuse to turn on when DH 'helpfully' does the washing if it had something in there that shouldn't be treated to the 60 degree cotton wash that appears to be the only setting he can find.

Am I still bitter about my brand new Boden dress, my cashmere socks and my Toast wool jumper? You bet I am!

BromptonCocktail · 13/12/2016 17:16

Non tester. The ability to pick up laundry from teenager's bedroom floors and retrieve manky kit from PE bags would be wonderful!

Rubydarling · 13/12/2016 17:44

Non tester here.
I would like a magic silent washing machine, as we have a combined kitchen/ living room and the noise from the spin cycle is by far the worst problem with the layout. And we bought a machine which claimed to be quieter than the others... humph...

cheekylittledevil · 13/12/2016 17:50

Non tester. I would like a machine that would pick up the clothes from 2 teenagers' bedroom floors, wash, dry and iron them and them put them away. Also, if it could get DS dressed in the morning so he's not constantly late for college, that would be great - thanks!

lornies79 · 13/12/2016 18:09

The magical feature I'd like on a washing machine would be the abilty to dry everything and fold it all up!

itshappenedagain · 13/12/2016 18:28

Non tester- a machine that folds up the washing. My most hated job

lizziefield1982 · 13/12/2016 19:51

I would like my machine to tell me it'd it was overloaded and therefore wasn't going to wash properly, and for it to have a self clean function for the powder drawer, it's always yucky.

littledinaco · 13/12/2016 19:57

To send you a text to let you know it's finished! I always forget!

BeeMyBaby · 13/12/2016 20:09

Non tester- a special wash cycle for baby clothes used for weaning, which properly lifts off stains and meant that I didn't have to do a pre-hand wash on each item.

FeelingSmurfy · 13/12/2016 20:13

The ability to check if there is anything in the pockets

vixo · 13/12/2016 20:36

Non-tester
I would like a machine that pairs up all the black socks correctly, and removes all the tissues whole, rather than them disintegrating all over every dark wash!

RamsayBoltonsConscience · 13/12/2016 20:37

I would like the machine to have a washing basket function so you put the clothes directly into the machine. It then sorts them, knows when there is a complete load and deals with it! Sorry, did you say the machine was magic?

Mbalm8 · 13/12/2016 21:53

Non-tester: not to sound repetitive with other mumsnetters, but definitely a machine that washes and irons and puts away the clothes would be a dream come true!

Traceyedd · 13/12/2016 21:56

I would love it to tell me when i have overfilled the machine. I have no idea what weight the washing is and therefore am constantly overfilling it so it doesnt clean properly. I am sure i would be horrified how much i really overfill.

throwingpebbles · 14/12/2016 00:03

non-tester - I dream of the day I can just pop dirty clothes in a machine and they come out the other end dried, ironed and folded.
And I don't know if it is too much to ask for the "sock eating" component to disappear but that would be very much appreciated too Grin

pinkspideruk · 14/12/2016 00:21

Non tester

My magic feature would be one where my clothes would be ironed and then hung up or folded ready to go away - I hate ironing with a passion - my current machine has wrinkle care cycle but then if you use it there is mre water left in the clothes so you end u with them getting wrinkled in the tumble drier instead! (unless its dry outside which in Wales is a rarity then they can go on the line)

Akire · 14/12/2016 00:55

I'd love a really fast wash. I can hand wash an item in less than 5min so why is the shortest wash usually about 30 plus spinning and waiting door to open?
Sometimes you want to freshen up with a super quick wash and spin so you can dry it. It must be possible!

Once a wash has finished please can the door open? It's stopped it's random spinning and it's fake, you think I'm finished....and one more turn playing, so why do we have to wait 3min like a lemon for it to open. It knows it's finished already!

Oh and an I messed up the programme can we start again please function. Not a turn it off wait 5min try a new program only to have it remember it started on a different program and is frozen. Leaving you to swear and hit it and randomly turn it on off and press anything to try and get it to forgive you.

And an are you sure you want this on a 90c wash feature, for when you not noticed and about to make all your jumpers fit barbie.

puglife · 14/12/2016 06:54

NON-tester - I'd have a washer that washes and dries clothes super quick keeping them crease free! (Not too much to ask for is it?!)
