This thread is for the Mumsnetters who are currently testing out the AddWash™ WW8500 Washing Machine.

Here’s what Samsung have to say: “We wanted a washing machine that simply adapts to consumers, not for consumers to have to adapt to their machines. Our AddWash™ range reflects Samsung’s commitment to marrying beautiful design and practical innovations to create appliances that help be more efficient”.
Ashwin Gouveia - Senior Product Manager – Laundry (Samsung UK)

Testers:
Once your machine has arrived, please tell us:

  1. What are your first impressions of how the machine looks?
  2. Having read the instruction manual, which features are you most excited about using?

After having a few days to test your machine, we’d love to know:
  3. Are you pleased with how the machine washes? Why?
  4. How is this machine different to your previous model?

Finally, now that you’ve had your machine for over a week, please tell us:
  5. What is your favourite feature and why?
  6. Would you recommend the Samsung AddWash™ WW8500 to a friend? Why?

Please also add your review to the Mumsnet reviews section here.

Non – testers, for the chance to win a £300 voucher, please answer the following question:
If you could add a magic feature to your washing machine, what life-changing function would it have? Would it make your clothes magically repel creases, or hang up your clothes automatically? Would it have a super quick wash cycle for those nights where someone urgently needs a clean PE kit? Would it have a sensor to locate those odd socks?

Whatever your idea, please post it as a comment below. All who post a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a £300 love2shop voucher.

    Standard Insight T&Cs Apply
    Thanks,
    MNHQ

I wish I could put my laundry in separate loads into auto loading shutes atop the machine. Whites, colours, dark etc

The machine would then auto fill & runneach load back to back till they were all done. Bliss.

I'd like a compartment to pre soak stains. Having to find space for the bowls for stain laden clothes is annoying!

My perfect washing machine would wash everything together without needing to sort dark and light clothes and filter out tissues so they don't make a mess of the washing!

I want a magic putting washing away facility. One which will clean, dry and organise clothes into perfect outfits would be great. No more scrabbling round in dark morning trying to find matching top!

non-tester here. I agree with self-cleaning, including the detergent drawer! And in my dreams, a machine that recognises the clothes' fabric and adapts its temperature/ amount of detergent automatically.

Non tester : my magic feature would be lots of the above but I would really love a machine that was able to warn you when something would need attention/replacing, before the machine actually broke down, so you could plan ahead and not suddenly find yourself without a machine!

Non-tester: My preferred washing machine feature would be an all through service from picking up the clothes (from the floor!) through washing, drying, and ironing to folding up and putting in drawers. In short I want a maid-bot like on the Jetsons

Def a self cleaning ability. Something that stops any velcro from bibs/clothes sticking to the delicate parts of other clothes and ripping them to smithereens when detaching them again! Fed up of destroying the pretty parts of clothes ha. Also the ability to fold the clothes up for me as I end up doing it more than once when the kids come along and unfold it all!

None tester. A machine that didn't need maintenance, no emptying of filters, drains, cleaning the rubber door seals etc. Also one that magically can match socks and pair them together and sort the clothes into a different pile for everyone in the house!

Non tester - A machine that also ironed and put your laundry away would be amazing 😉 Maybe one day x

I have had my Samsung machine for over 5 yrs so it owes me nothing I use the delay feature to start wash later when I am at work but would like to be able to use my phone to activate it. Also, I would like an easy to remove powder tray to clean it easily as ironically this is the dirtiest part of the appliance

I love the idea of a self cleaning washing machine - i hate all that black gunk that builds up in there! Most of all though I'd like one that sorts the socks into pairs - as I dread that job, it seems to take forever. Used to try and turn it into a game and get the kids to do it - but found out that I had to re-do it every time...

A sensor that would let you know it f something that shouldn't be in washing machine was inside.such as the other week I must have bundled my children clothes up off bathroom floor after giving them a bath, forgot to check like I usually do,placed in machine.was shocked to find on opening the machine, that a nappy had been hidden with washing and lots of gel absorbing beads from nappy all over washing, took ages to shake off in bin and sort out before having to wash clothes again.

Feature I would add: a place to put washing liquid, fabric softener etc not just for each load but for 10-20 loads. So you can just empty the entire bottle of washing liquid and leave it. Set the dial for normal or heavy stains and it works out for itself how much to use. Good economy as you don't have issue of DH doing it wrong and using too much. My DH once used fabric softener instead of washing liquid for 3-4 wash loads. Sad it smelled so nice but was dirty still!

An automatic clothes folding option!

Non Tester - a drying and folding and putting away option would be wonderful!. If it would pop round with the hoover as well I would be extra pleased

Purplehonesty · 17/12/2016 21:42

I'd like it to be completely silent.
And maybe empty itself magically onto the airer.
Hmm that's two features. I will go with the second.

Non tester. I'd like to be able to set up the full days laundry in one go... Instead of littering the lounge with depressing piles of colours, whites, delicates, etc which I'll never get to the end of if I actually want to leave the house.

Non tester - I'd love a magic machine that located the dirty washing, washed, dried and put it all away afterwards!!! But nearer to real life the add way feature sounds amazing because I always find an odd sock or tea towel needing a wash just after the machine starts!

Non tester. A machine that checked the pockets; weighed the clothes to use correct amount of water and Dried them..... Then put them away and cleaned the bathrooms 😂😂

Non tester. I'd be happy with a machine that could filter out tissues left in pockets rather than covering every item in the load with bits of tissue. Also if the 30 wash actually left clothes clean that would be nice.
