Q1. How would you describe Gift Wink in a couple of words?
A reminder and finder gift service for occasions
Q2. What do you like most about Gift Wink?
I think the site looks good - very clean lines, very modern. And I like the idea.
Q3.If you could change one thing about Gift Wink what would it be?
It would be good if it could be used for other occasions - not just birthdays. Anniversaries would be very useful - not just wedding anniversaries, but significant milestones that may be marked with a gift.
Q4. What features could you not live without?
I don't like this question. There is nothing in life that I can't live without
Q5. Would you be interested in posting your own gift ideas to Gift Wink?
I might. Especially for older people - as that was pretty poor!
Q6. Would you buy a gift from Gift Wink? If no, please tell us the main reason why
Most probably not. I guess it's a commission website - so prices are more than I would be willing to pay. Also, the gifts recommended to me are very much middle class and more than I would spend on anybody (me included!). It's definitely not designed with people on lower incomes in mind!
Q7 On a scale of 0-10 how likely would you be to recommend Gift Wink to a friend or family member? Please use a scale where 0 is would not at all and 10 is definitely would
- I might, but I don't really have any folk I would recommend it to. And if I did, they would know where I might have got my clever ideas from!
Q8. Are there any comments or suggestions you'd like to share with Gift Wink?
A few functionality issues:
The screen where you input the birthdays is annoying, as the columns get smaller and smaller, so you have to click out of it and then back in to be able to input more names. May be an idea to limit it to three inputs then a save.
5 of the 6 birthdays I inputted were for males. But my 87 year old Dad wouldn't appreciate the same gifts as my brother and husband in their thirties. Given that we're giving you ages, it may be worth looking at how many gifts are available for different age ranges.
When you go onto the 'gifts' page, there is no section for 'men'. Pretty big omission!
I'm not hugely keen with having to input names and full dates of birth without knowing its a secure site. So I probably wouldn't use it in the future.
I do however really like the wish-list function. But not the gifts for women. They're all a bit clichéd and samey. Very middle class and expensive.
I think the site is a GREAT idea, but a bit sexist (aimed at Mums, suggestions by Mums) and very yummy-mummy stereotyped. It would be good to see a bit more variety.
Phew - not going to win the voucher, am I?!
