This is the feedback thread for the 250 Mumsnetters who are testing out Mini Milk.

Here’s what Wall’s say: “Small, but perfectly formed, our Mini Milk range is a firm favourite within the Wall’s range of ice creams. With a choice of three delicious flavours, Vanilla, Strawberry and Chocolate, Mini Milk is a yummy treat you can feel confident giving to your kids this summer.”

Here are some questions to get you started, but please feel free to add your own comments too:

  1. What was your overall impression of Mini Milks?
  2. Which of your children tried Mini Milk? How old are your DCs? Have they tried Mini Milks before?
  3. Did your child enjoy the Mini Milks? If so, what did your child like about them? And which was their favourite flavour?
  4. Would you recommend Mini Milks to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Everyone who adds their feedback, as well as completing the short feedback survey we will be emailing to you, will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Please note: your anonymous comments may be used by Wall’s on their website and other marketing materials.

Thanks,
MNHQ

In no way did I participate in this test so I could eat a chocolate mini milk. Grin

  1. What was your overall impression of Mini Milks?
It's hard to approach these with a fresh perspective because I've adored them since I was little. The packaging is nice but I think it would be even better if it was a bit more geared towards pointing out the goodness of the product, which is very wholesome.
  1. Which of your children tried Mini Milk? How old are your DCs?
DS - who will be 2 in September.

Have they tried Mini Milks before?
No.

  1. Did your child enjoy the Mini Milks? If so, what did your child like about them? And which was their favourite flavour?
Yes - he liked the chocolate and strawberry ones. It's hard to determine what particularly he liked as he's not the best talker yet.
  1. Would you recommend Mini Milks to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes. There's nothing not to like about them. They are a good treat option compared to a lot of stuff on offer, and surprisingly low in sugar.

  1. We've had Mini Milks before but not for a long time, now there's a lot more kiddies around our house it's good to have them back again! The actual ice creams were still similar to past ones i've bought years ago when i was a child although dare i say slightly less sweeter these days??!!! The packaging is great, really eye catching and great to get the kids eye (and Mummy's purse!!)
  1. DSD - 10 loves these, likes chocolate flavour the best but is a chocaholic. My niece (3) and friends daughter (2) also loved them, chocolate seems to be the most popular. All knew Mini Milks well!
  1. Love, love, love them…chocolate all the way!
  1. Definitely, just the right size for the little children, maybe not big enough for the 10 year old meaning she wants two! Price is also great and handy to have in the freezer..great for the grown ups too (especially the milk ones!).

  1. What was your overall impression of Mini Milks?
Eye catching packaging - the lion on the front caught the eye of my son when we saw the box in the freezer. I liked that the size of the box wasn't too big and fitted nicely into my freezer at home without taking up much room. to fit in the freezer.
  1. Which of your children tried Mini Milk? How old are your DCs? Have they tried Mini Milks before?
My sons aged 2 and 5 tried the mini milks. They hadn't tried them before.
  1. Did your child enjoy the Mini Milks? If so, what did your child like about them? And which was their favourite flavour?

My boys loved them. They liked to pick a different flavour to try each time. Their favourite seemed to be strawberry.

  1. Would you recommend Mini Milks to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend them to everyone, children and adults alike - me and hubby enjoyed them too! Will definitely be a regular purchase from now on.

  1. Very good, eye-catching box, and a good size
  2. Dd (12), and dts (18 months). Dd has had them before, but dts haven't
  3. Yes, they loved them (as did I!). Dd likes the chocolate ones best, and the dts liked all of them, judging by how fast they ate them.
  4. Yes, although they're so well known, I don't think it's necessary.

They were an ideal size for the dts

Hcg123 · 27/06/2015 09:47

Thank you very much for the voucher!
My overall impression of mini milks was good - I remember having them when I was a child ????
We all tried the mini milks (well who can resist?!) my ds is 20 months old, he thoroughly enjoyed them. I can't really say If he had a fave flavour tho, as they were all demolished / left him with an ice cream tache ????
I would recommend them - although I think most people I know already know about them. They are a good size for little ones. I think it would be good if they introduced more flavours tho, eg peach, raspberry, blueberry, banana etc.

  1. What was your overall impression of Mini Milks? Great-sized, fun ice-creams. The packaging was more fun looking than it used to be. I'm sure they used to have a joke on the stick when I was young and I was sad not to find one.
  2. Which of your children tried Mini Milk? How old are your DCs? Have they tried Mini Milks before? Toddler aged 3 and 11 month-old had a few licks. Neither had tried one before.
  3. Did your child enjoy the Mini Milks? If so, what did your child like about them? And which was their favourite flavour? They loved them. DC1 has never had anything on a stick before and loved the idea of a lolly, calling it a 'lollipop ice cream'. DC1 liked the chocolate one best but was happy with all three flavours.
  4. Would you recommend Mini Milks to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes. Because they're the only child-appropriate ice cream available. At a National Trust property recently the person selling ice creams refused to give me a small ice cream for the toddler. I wasn't asking for a discount either- just an appropriate-sized treat. I hardly ever see Minimilks sold separately in vans and freezers.

  1. What was your overall impression of Mini Milks?

Nicely packaged, good size for a treat, pricier than own brand alternatives but possibly tastier too.

  1. Which of your children tried Mini Milk? How old are your DCs? Have they tried Mini Milks before?

My 2yo. Tried one last summer, didn't
like it or any other ice cream. Trying again this summer.

  1. Did your child enjoy the Mini Milks? If so, what did your child like about them? And which was their favourite flavour?

He's not keen on any ice cream as it's too cold, but he was happy to have a couple of links of the chocolate one when it was a bit meltier. He didn't like the others at all.

  1. Would you recommend Mini Milks to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would. Notwithstanding my son's fussyness, I thought they were noticeably nicer than the own brand ones I usually buy. They're a great size for a treat for all the family.

My Mini Milk review

  1. What was your overall impression of Mini Milks?
I really liked them and like the smaller size of the Mini Milks it makes them perfect for my smaller children.
  1. Which of your children tried Mini Milk? How old are your DCs? Have they tried Mini Milks before?
All my children tried the Mini Milks ages 9,7,4 and 20 months. They have all had Mini Milks before and love them.
  1. Did your child enjoy the Mini Milks? If so, what did your child like about them? And which was their favourite flavour?
The favourite flavour in our house was by far the Strawberry flavour! My smallest children loved the size of them because they both struggle with bigger Ice-cream lollies. They all love the texture and smoothness of the Mini Milks.
  1. Would you recommend Mini Milks to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not so much for my older children although if there was a larger not so Mini Milk they said they would have them all the time because they love the taste. But for anyone with baby/toddlers under the age of 6/7 years then absolutely recommend them to friends and family.

  2. Which of your children tried Mini Milk? How old are your DCs? Have they tried Mini Milks before? 21 month old DS tried them and hadn't tried them before
  3. Did your child enjoy the Mini Milks? If so, what did your child like about them? And which was their favourite flavour? Yes he did but it was a bit much for him - ate half
  4. Would you recommend Mini Milks to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes and I'd have them in for playdates too. They're a nice treat and not too full of sugar.

Additional comment - if the stick could be slightly longer it would be nice. Not very east for toddler hands to grasp without getting cold!

  1. What was your overall impression of Mini Milks?
Great, everything about them was positive
  1. Which of your children tried Mini Milk? How old are your DCs? Have they tried Mini Milks before?
All of us tried them, ages 17, 17, 16, 13 and 11! They've all had them when tiny but probably don't remember!
  1. Did your child enjoy the Mini Milks? If so, what did your child like about them? And which was their favourite flavour?
Yes they all enjoyed them each liking a different flavour best. Overall vanilla was probably most popular. I think they most liked the flavour, there isn't another ice cream with the same taste!
  1. Would you recommend Mini Milks to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes. They are a great price, great size and great taste.

  1. What was your overall impression of Mini Milks?
My overall impression of Mini Milks was good. I remember them being a treat as a child and I love that the vanilla ones taste just like they used to!! The packaging with the lion makes them appealing to children.
  1. Which of your children tried Mini Milk? How old are your DCs? Have they tried Mini Milks before?

My daughter, aged 4 and son, aged 1 tried Mini Milk. Amelia has tried them before but Alexander hasn't.

  1. Did your child enjoy the Mini Milks? If so, what did your child like about them? And which was their favourite flavour?

They tried all the flavours. They are an ideal treat as their size means they eat them fairly quickly with minimal mess and before they get bored and distracted by something else! Their favourite flavour was definitely chocolate.

  1. Would you recommend Mini Milks to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would definitely recommend Mini Milk. I think they are great value and are good as a sweet treat for the children in the summer. I like the fact that there are no artificial flavours etc.

AmyLouKin · 06/07/2015 15:57

My mum used to buy these for me and my siblings when we were kids as they were not very expensive, we're not too big for little tums and wouldn't fill us up on a hot day after school ( we still ate our dinners). My fave was always chocolate or vanilla, never was very keep on strawberry flavour. I would quite happily eat them these days too! Smile
