This thread is for the 100 Mumsnetters who tried Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter.

However, if you're not a tester, share whether you/your DC prefer your peanut butter Crunchy or Smooth and you'll be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 Whole Earth hamper!

For those who tested the product, we?ve got a few questions we'd like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments.

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I personally prefer crunchy.
However, we always get smooth as DP prefers it and it's better for toddler DD.

Non tester: it has to be crunchy all the way. You get the taste and creaminess of the butter with the reassuring bite of peanuts.... Great at adding texture to sandwiches

We all love whole earth crunchy peanut butter! It gets eaten on toast, in large quantities. I prefer the consistency of the non-organic one, despite wanting to like the organic version.

I like smooth in sandwiches, but crunchy in cooking, for something like satay chicken. sitting on the fence, me

Not a tester but I love Whole Earth peanut butter. It's got to be crunchy though - smooth peanut butter is disgusting.

Has anybody tried a spoonful of crunchy peanut butter dolloped over vanilla icecream? Food of the gods, I tell you. :)

We always have BOTH. My 4 year old likes half a slice of toast with crunchy and half with smooth!

Crunchy is sooo much better! Smooth glues your mouth shut.

Not a tester. I usually prefer crunchy but have a toddler DD so buy smooth at the moment.

Definitely crunchy; it's far more delicious!

Non-tester.
We have both smooth and crunchy peanut butter in the house at all times. (and usually a spare of each!). Whole earth is the brand we most often buy.
DD1 (2 1/2) loves peanut butter on a cracker (cream cracker/ryvita) or on a spoon. Crunchy is her current favourite. Sometimes we have peanut butter sandwiches for breakfast/lunch.
DH often has peanut butter on ryvita with blueberries for dessert.
I've never cooked with peanut butter, apart from making protein balls for DH, which isn't really cooking.

I'm not a tester. I prefer smooth PB, love it on toast with chocolate spread, or a dollop on a plain chocolate digestive, or I make a milk shake style drink with milk, peanut butter and Baileys, I like peanut butter with ice cream too.

Received my peanut butter in the post this morning, thank you!. Going to try it on some toast in a minute...yum!

I usually buy Suma to avoid the added sugar and fats, but I love the taste of whole earth crunchy, it is my second choice.

Smooth all the way. Crunchy is great for sauces, but smooth spreads better.

I usually prefer smooth.
But had whole earth crunchy as a replacement in my groceries delivery and I'm converted.

I always buy Whole Earth because its much less sweet than other brands. Much nicer taste. I used to be crunchy all the way but since having kids who demolish the stuff I've switched to smoooooooth and its lush.

So now I'm a smooth girl.

Not a tester, but always and only crunchy. I tend to eat a peanut protein ball for breakfast, but need to lay in better stocks of peanut butter to make my own.

We really liked the consistency. Nice big chunks of peanut. Much chunkier than the Meridian one we were currently using.

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

We much preferred it to the Meridian one. Somehow sweeter even though no sugar was added. But, not sure if I want the kids having salt in their peanut butter. And, I'm going to be reading up about Palm Oil. I see some mumsnetters think that is a bad thing.

Yes, I would be happy to pay it. But, not all the time as I do prefer products without added salt.

We had it on toast, and my daughters love it spread on slices of apples. It went very quickly so the satay sauce I had planned to make with it didn't happen!

For flavour I would recommend it, but I would state my reservations about the salt (and possibly Palm Oil)

I liked the texture and consistency. Very similar to our usual Skippy. The flavour was better in my opinion, not quite as sugary. DS was non-committal.

As good as, if not nicer than, Skippy. Significantly better than stores' own brands, I have also bought the organic, health food brands but they are definitely more pricey, and the DC don't really like them.

If guess I would pay it. However we buy Skippy in the large tubs in Costco, so the price is better there

On toast. I have it with jam too often. I did try a. spoonful on its own, just to try it first.

Yes, as it contains less sugar. It is tasty, and still not too bad for your health. Fat is good, sugar is bad!

I didn't cook with it - as I don't really bake.
