Non tester.
I can't stand peanut butter! but DD loves it.
DD (2.7) prefers crunchy, although we have smooth at the moment as DS (10 months) enjoys that - although plan to start him on crunchy when we next need a new jar

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?

I loved it, DS1 is unchanged in his hatred of peanut butter and DS2 wolfed it down! It was like healthier or fresher normal peanut butter if that makes sense!

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

Far nicer, tasted more wholesome, less messed about with.

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?

*I think I would. I am not eating sugar at the moment so it is a really nice "sweet" treat for me whilst still healthy.

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?

I had mine on rice cakes with sliced strawberries, very nice. DS2 had his on toast. I may try and make some satay chicken at the weekend if there is enough left

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would, I have lots of friends who watch their sugar intake

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?

Loved it. Its really crunchy and full of flavour. Only DD would try it, but she liked it too.

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

This was my first trial of peanut butter. Would you believe I'm in my thirties and have NEVER had it! So I can't compare it... But we did really enjoy it and will definitely get it again.

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?

Yes, that is good value.

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?

I tried it on it's own with a spoon, and then on toast. Then DD and I had it on toast with banana (yum). I've had it on crackers and now that I've heard that there is a Nigella recipe for muffins.. I'll be trying that too

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I really loved the consistency. There are decent sized peanut chunks in there and I am now converted to peanut butter.

Not a tester (unfortunately!) but I much prefer crunchy. I have yet to find a low fat crunchy peanut butter though annoyingly. You can get low fat smooth but not low fat crunchy. Anywhere.

I eat crunchy peanut butter on toast every single morning. I love it.

I love whole Earth and always buy the crunchy which appears to be diminishing even though I haven't been eating it every day - I'm sure Hubbie knows something about this !!

Non tester here. My mum used to buy Whole Earth for us as children as it doesn't have sugar in it. I prefer the taste of this over other brands and the lack of sugar, additives etc. I prefer crunchy but the current one is smooth as DS chose it! We have it mostly on toast and DH always has some when testing his homemade bread! I've used it to make peanut butter and choc chip cookies.
For those concerned about palm oil, Whole Earth does at least use sustainable palm oil.

Not a tester but I much prefer crunchy. Only buy Whole Earth as it has no sugar and I prefer the taste. We get through a big jar every week Blush

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?
My dd loved it!! she loved all the pieces of nut. DH and DS refused as they claim that PB is 'icky'. I liked it all though it was much more nutty and less buttery than my usual brand.

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?
This tasted healthier than usual but didnt spread as far iykwim.

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?
In all honesty that is a bit more pricy than my usual so would prob get if it was on offer.

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?
on toast and on toast with jam, on cream crackers and out of the jar!! lush!!

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
yes i think i would.

thanks for the freebie!

Thank you for selecting us for the trial :)

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?

I love it and barely managed to stop myself from eating the whole lot with a spoon when it arrived the other day especially on toast and straight out of the jar. I usually buy smooth PB (don't think I have ever tried crunchy before...) and am quite sold. The dcs were mixed: they liked the crunch, but dd1 immediately noticed that this was less sweet than our normal brand. She liked it, but was less keen than ds who was quite enthusiastic. Dd2 decided to stick to cream cheese for breakfast and has refused to try it so far.

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

We normally buy Tesco own brand; I like the Whole Earth version for its crunch and for being sugar free, but am disappointed that it contains palm oil. I've just checked, and the Tesco version contains peanut oil and vegetable oil (as well as salt and sugar) but no 'nasties' such as palm oil (actually, I was surprised as was expecting a load of E numbers and preservatives....)...I would need to be very convinced about how sustainable the palm oil really was before buying products containing it.

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?

It is a little pricey, but I would be happy to pay it if I knew that everyone in the family preferred this product and I was comfortable with the palm oil. The jury is still out on whether we should make the switch from a flavour/preference perspective and I guess I need to find out more about Whole Earth's sustainable approach...On the other hand, the world of crunchy peanut butter has been a revelation :)

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?

On a spoon and on toast. There isn't enough in the jar to use it to cook with!

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably - we quite liked it, and I do like the fact it is sugar free and seems a bit healthier than our normal brand, but I don't think I would be evangelical about it.

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?

I love crunchy peanut butter so I liked it, and it was what I was expecting. DS would rather have gnawed off his own arm than eaten any however.

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

I felt it was a bit less cloying than some.

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?

It's expensive given that I usually buy Tesco Value to cook with! I would probably buy it when on offer however.

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?

I was going to make cookies but there wasn't really enough, it's a small jar! I eat it off a spoon and had banana and peanut butter toasties, yum.

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Peanut butter hasn't actually come up in conversation with friends in my lifetime I don't think, but on the offchance that it might, I'd say that this is pleasant but expensive.

I always buy whole earth since I noticed a "chemical" taste in other brands. Generally go for smooth because I not like sharp nut bits in my food.

I add it to my standard "hob-nob" biscuit recipe to get slightly nutty, oaty biscuits or have it on toast with marmite.

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?

Loved the consistency. It was much less stick-to-the-roof-of-your-mouth than I expected.

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

I loved it. I don't mind the salt. I exercise quite a bit, so does DS1 who is a real peanut butter fan, so we need the salt. Loved that it didn't taste as sweet as the cheaper varieties.

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?

In theory, yes. It's nicer and it's not overpriced. In practise, until DH gets a job, we have a fairly tight budget and are likely to buy the supermarket own brands for now.

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?

It arrived yesterday afternoon, so I've only had it on Ryvita so far (Actually that's a lie. DS 2 came down in the middle of the night to catch me eating it from a spoon out of the jar Blush ) But I intend to try some in a chicken satay with lime and coconut milk, and some in peanut butter cookies with chocolate drops this weekend.

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I would. I really like that it has no added sugar and its texture is great.

We are testers and huge peanut butter fans in my house! We received the crunchy one which I am really chuffed about as its my favourite! We made a chocolate banana and peanut butter cake yesterday, and it was lush.

BBc good food recipe adapted :) I also had it on toast for lunch.

I thought the consistency was slightly gritty, DD said it was yummy. I thought the taste was very peanutty and I really liked the crunch!

I have tried many peanut butters and I think it is the most textured I have had. I also like that it is a healthier option, and makes me feel less guilty about giving it to the baby.

I would pay that much although when times are tough it is expwnsive and it would be more of a luxury.

I would recommend it, as its tasty. I would probably add a caveat that although its expensive it tastes good!
