Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?

My children liked the taste and flavour, said it was natural. I love the crunch, however, kids prefer smooth peanut butter. Similar to what we usually buy.

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

I like that it is not full of sugar, it seems more healthy.

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?

I try to buy Whole Earth on special offer - my children eat peanut butter often and it is pricey compared to some other more natural brands.

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?

On toast, with banana. In a satay sauce with chicken and salad. Mostly on toast. Delicious.

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I would recommend it, its a nice peanut butter, not full of additives. I do think the price will put a lot of people off though.

Hi,
I'm supposed to be a tester but it hasn't arrived...

We like different Peanut butters for different jobs. Crunchy for cooking satays and peanut butter cookies; smooth for bagels with jam and dolloped into banana bread recipes.

DH eats his smeared on bananas (ahem) and I like either on Ryvita.

Crunchy definitely. Whole Earth is OK, although I find it a bit 'dry' and prefer Meridian (sorry!). I also think it's better value because you can buy it by the bucket - maybe Whole Earth would consider this?

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?

Ds enjoyed it. It was different to what I was expecting. It really is a lot nicer than the brands I'm used to.

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

It certainly is much better quality

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?

I would not of paid those prices before I tried it, but now I have I will buy it more often

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?

So far I've only had it on toast. I will cook with it very soon and post back.

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I pointed it out to Dm when we were out shopping on Sunday, I told her its good stuff. She agreed as she's already tried it. Will recommend to other people.
I think it is much nicer and better quality than anything I've tried before.

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting? better texture than my usual brand (Sainsburys), but I didn't feel it was as tasty

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?
About the same

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not? I just compare the prices in the supermarket on the day, wouldn't move from current brand unless it is cheaper

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook? Tried it on a spoon ! and then on toast, which is how I normally eat it. DS doesn't like Peanut Butter, and has refused to try this "new sort" so far

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not? No strong feelings about it, no advantage over own brand

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting? The peanut butter was nice and crunchy whilst still being 'spreadable'. Some crunchy peanut butters we have had are harder to spread. I liked the flavour, but it was not as sweet as my dds are used to, so it took them a couple of tries to warm to it. They were also less used to the darker bits in it as the usual peanut butter I buy is pretty much all on colour - probably because it is the cheap own brand one!!

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall? It was definitely better quality and felt more nutritious and healthy!! Not sure if that was the name and the info I have read helping form my opinion though! It certainly looks more natural and has more colours and textures within the peanut butter, but definitely not as sweet.

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not? I don't think the price is too expensive, but then again if I saw a jar on the same aisle which was cheaper I may be tempted to buy it instead as we are currently on a very tight budget.

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook? So far it has been eaten on its own with a spoon, on rice cakes, on the top of fairy cakes instead of icing! Our family favourite however is spread on toast with bananas sliced on top. I find this is a really satisfying start to the day and that it keeps be full until lunchtime. I am planning to make Nigella's peanut butter and snickers muffins with it when I get some more time.

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not? I would recommend to my friend who eats all organic and is very health conscious. Also I have mentioned to someone at work who loves peanut butter. In terms of my own family I think I will be more likely to end up buying a cheaper and sweeter version, although I think I will buy a jar of this brand next to see if I can unsweeten my children's taste buds! I do think it is a really healthy and energy providing spread. I just wish it was allowed in school packed lunches.

Thanks for letting us try it.

Crunchy for me! Although it doesn't spread as far, so you use more, so it's much more expensive than using smooth.

I'm not a whole earth customer but have been looking for a no added sugar peanut butter so I feel I might be about to become a customer, We buy both smooth and crunch peanut butter, the smooth always goes down quicker, the children have it on toast and it is used in peanut butter cookies that are a family favourite. The crunchy is for me marinades and satay sauce. Grin

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?

I enjoyed it and two out of four children did also. The other don't like the texture of peanut butter and the way it sticks to your mouth!

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

I do think that this brand is better than supermarkets own. Somehow it seems less gloopy and greasy.

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?

Yes, I would pay that.

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?

I enjoyed it with jam on bagels. We also baked some peanut butter cookies with it. I will post a picture if I can work out how!
However, only half of my children enjoyed those - the other two weren't keen.....still - all the more for me!

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes. I had confidence in this brand and I liked the product.

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?
It was much better than I expected the crunchy bits are bigger than in other brands and the consistency is well blended

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

It tasted nice fresher and less processed more peanutty even

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not? not
Yes that sounds comparable with other brands

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook? on Bread so far would like to try to make cookies with it

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not? I already have as it is really nice and I think it is nicer than other brands

Non-tester here, I only didn't apply because I'd bought a jar the day before I saw the thread.

I do try other brands but I always come back to Whole Earth, it is the best tasting brand and I like the fact that the palm oil is sustainable. Crunch only for us, mainly eaten in sandwiches and on toast, but also used for satay sauce from time to time.

Tester here! We've just had some PB sarnis for after school snack (DS2 had honey, he doesn't like PB. I didn't have any, as I'm on 5-2 and I don't want to undo my good work! Grin)

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?
"Excellent, brilliantly smooth, lovely, delicious"- DS1 (even though it's the crunchy version!)
"Lovely strong taste"- DS3

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?
"I liked how it wasn't as gooey as the others" - DS1
I like the way you can see the 'whole'-ness of the peanut butter skins-all that fibre!

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?
No, I've looked at Whole Earth before and rejected it because of the palm oil.
Also, I'm afraid it's out of my price range. That jar will be gone by breakfast, and two quid is too much for something that will only last a day or two.
I usually buy from a wholefood shop that has peanut butter made from...peanuts (and nothing else). It sticks the kid's tongues to the roof of their mouths, but it's good for them Wink. If I can't get to that shop and I want PB, I'll get a large jar of Tesco's own brand, which does have sugar and salt, but uses peanut oil instead of palm oil. I think from memory the one Lidls sells is quite good on ingredients as well, but can't swear to it.

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?
Usually in sarnis or on toast. Love it with chocolate spread.
Recently discovered the joy that is a plate of raspberries and a dollop of Peanut butter...scoop PB into the hole into the raspberry and eat. Go on, try it, it's delish. I'm contemplating dipping some in melted chocolate for a posh after dinner thing.

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
No. Palm oil lets it down big time.

I'm a tester, we got ours today.

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?

The consistency was good, not too oily but not too dry either. The bits of peanut were just the right size. The flavour was good, it doesn't need sugar, you get the real taste of peanuts!.

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

I've tried Sainsburys and Skippy. Whole Earth is better than these, but I'd say it's the same as Sainsburys organic

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?

I'm trying to remember what I paid for the Sainsburys organic (but can't!). If it cost the same or less I would definitely buy it, because it doesn't have sugar in it.

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?

The kids have just had peanut butter on toast and I did a taste test on its own. My son liked it (he's a real lover of peanut butter). He said he would prefer it with sugar, but he's happy enough to have the Whole Earth. That's good enough for me! I also like to make satay chicken with it and put it on ice cream - which is delicious!

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend it and tell them that it doesn't have any sugar in it

Dear Whole Earth

Please please find an alternative to palm oil. We all know how disastrously damaging it is to the rainforests and devastating for the orangutans and many other species. I won't buy Whole Earth while you continue to use palm oil.

Thank you.
