Non-tester. DD and I are smooth girls, and DH is crunchy all the way. Prefer less processed taste, more peanutty, less chemical.

Non-tester, but crunchy all the way. I also love to use peanut butter in a variation of this recipe: www.food.com/recipe/african-pork-and-peanut-stew-155437

Non tester here.

Crunchy all the way. Love it as a quick snack on a cracker, but by far my favourite way is on toast where is just melts a little. Yum!!!!!
Would love it if a peanut butter recipe book existed!!

Try adding a tablespoon of smooth peanut butter to your banana smoothy. One third pint semi-skimmed milk, one third greek yogurt a large, very ripe banana and 1 tbsp smooth peanut butter. Sublime!

  1. tried the crunchy. Kids really liked it and I loved it.

  2. We eat a lot of peanut butter. This might actually be my new favourite. Really lovely.

  3. seems a reasonable price. More expensive than some brands but it is more peanutty than others.

  4. Ate it on its own, on toast, on celery. Not tried it in a banana smoothie yet but think it would be nice.

  5. Yes, would definitely recommend.

I'm not a tester (wish I had been though). I like crunchy and Whole Earth was the brand that persuaded me to try peanut butter again, having been turned off it as a kid - I don't like it sweetened AT ALL, so Sunpat is c**p!!

I've cooked with it as well - some HFW recipe involving a lot of garlic, peanut butter and sweet potatoes. Didn't go down all that well with DD, but me and DH liked it well enough. I don't think it matters that much for satay sauces if you use crunchy or smooth, but I like crunchy and that's what I'd have in the house. It wouldn't occur to me to buy the other sort just for a recipe. I'd just adjust the recipe if necessary.

Not a tester but our whole family prefer smooth. Though I use crunchy for cooking making peanut sauces etc

Spent most of my life believing I hated peanut butter then I discovered Whole Earth a couple of years ago and love it! It has to be crunchy in our house and prefer standard over organic. Yum!

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?

We enjoyed its crunchyness and overall texture.

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?

I thought it tasted less processed and had more depth of flavour. It compared well.

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?

It is quite expensive but not shocking for the quality. I would maybe buy it in school holidays or if it was on offer.

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?

On toast. It was lush.

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend it because it feels like a luxury product.

Well, was meant to be a tester but since mine didn't show up and no one replied to my emails I'll add my thoughts as a non tester.

We all much prefer crunchy PB - far more versatile, as it works better in cooking too and more satisfying to eat by the spoonful

Crunchy - & I do like Whole Earth. When I'm not eating it straight from the jar I mix with honey over low heat for an ice cream sauce, or use as is to thicken curries without flour.

Non tester - you can't beat crunchy PB, on hot thick white toast, maybe with a dab of strawberry jam and a massive mug of tea.

The Dc's love it smooth and as a spread/dip for fruit, apples and banana etc.

Non tester but always buy whole earth crunchy peanut butter, yummiest nuttiest not sticky or weird or sweet - so nice! HAS to be crunchy though

Crunchy is unquestionably the best! But, I prefer peanut butter that is just made of peanuts - no sugar, no salt, and no palm oil. The prices seem reasonable enough, but I'd be more swayed by the contents.

Peanut butter is lovely on toast with jam, but also nice in a cold or warm Asian-style noodle dish with soy sauce, vinegar, some warm water to loosen the peanut butter, and sliced red peppers and spring onions.

Crunchy all the way.

As DS has a dairy allergy we also eat quite a bit of almond nut butter and rotate with cashew and brazil nut butters too.

I prefer crunchy. The DC prefer smooth. Somehow, mine runs out MUCH faster than theirs.....

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?
it was salty but that was what I expected due to not having sugar added. We all liked it - super crunchy!

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?
nicer, as I tend to have pb with sweet things (eg in a sandwich with Nutella... Or dipped with Apple) so because it is saltier it is a nicer contrast. And it's crunchier than other brands so that's a big plus!

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?
yes, quite reasonable IMO. Due to the stronger flavour you don't need so much. Same reason I buy mature cheddar instead of mild!

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?
On toast, on apple, on celery. Planning to try a mild satay with it and I love the idea of sticking it in a smoothie.

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
yes due to the no added sugar thing

Tester here. Peanut butter tried by myself and dd (3). Ds (6) refused as he didn't like the look of it Confused

Q1. What did you/your DCs think of the consistency, texture and flavour of Whole Earth peanut butter? Was this similar/different to what you were expecting?
It was nuttier than I was expected, but that was a good thing. Also slightly more salty which I like, but dd not so keen on.

Q2. If you have tried other peanut butter brands before, how do you think Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter compared overall?
We usually buy Skippy. Which is a lot sweeter so I think the children prefer that.however this seemed healthier so this is probably what I will buy from now on.

Q3. The RRP for 227g of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter is £1.99 and 454g is £3.19. Would you be happy to pay this? If so, why. If not, why not?
Yes, seems about right for the product.

Q4. How did you eat your peanut butter product? On its own? On toast? Did you use it in a recipe? If so, what did you cook?
On toast and bagels. Not had time to try it in cookies yet.

Q5. If it came up in conversation would you recommend Whole Earth peanut butter to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes for families due to not having added sugar, so slightly better for children and useful for both sweet/savoury recipes.

I definitely prefer the crunchy over smooth. Love crunching the nutty bits spread on warm whole meal toast washed down with a glass of milk!
