We have a very exciting product test for you...We've been asked by Samsung to find 30 Mumsnetters to try out their new G-Series American-style fridge freezer (average selling price £1,800) in their home and give feedback on Talk. Everyone who is selected to take part and adds their feedback will get to keep the fridge freezer forever!

This is what Samsung says about the product: "With the new G-Series three door American-style fridge freezer, you will get lots more storage space thanks to thin wall insulation technology. You also get the benefit of some really clever features, all designed to make your life easier. A plumbed dispenser gives you chilled and filtered ice and water on tap, foldable shelves mean you can fit all your food and drink in irrespective of their size, shape, width or breadth, and FreshSafe Vegetable drawers give you the best humidity levels to preserve vitamins and nutrients in any fruits and vegetables you?re storing. Even better is the CoolSelect Pantry which acts as a mini fridge within a fridge. It?s an independently controlled drawer which can be set to three different temperatures, so you can be sure you are storing your food at the right temperature."

There are a number of criteria for taking part in this project - to take part you must:

  • Live in mainland UK
  • Be willing to provide two lots of feedback (once when the fridge freezer has just been delivered and again after a couple of months) which will appear on MN and may be used for marketing by Samsung (they will link to the feedback thread from their website - you can namechange for the feedback if you like)
  • Be available at home for one weekday in the next 2-3 weeks (date to be arranged with Samsung) for delivery
  • Have space, electricity and a cold water supply (for ice and water dispenser) for a fridge freezer this size in your kitchen (or wherever it would live) - click here for more information on dimensions etc

If you are selected to take part, the fridge freezer will be delivered free of charge but Samsung aren't able to remove any old appliances so you would need to arrange for any existing fridge freezer occupying the space to be removed yourself.

You will get to keep the new fridge freezer once the product test is finished - so long as you add at least 2 lots of feedback on Mumsnet. Feedback will focus on overall impressions of the fridge freezer, the flexibility of the storage space inside it, any features you particularly like etc.

If you are interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks
MNHQ

I went shopping this weekend and looked longingly at the bags of ice and had to walk sorrowfully by as there is simply not room in our piddly freezer for bags of ice, or an ice cube tray for that matter (however that is because the bloody thing needs defrosting).

I dreamed DREAMED of the american frezer. I wouldn't have to worry about bags of ice then, as it has ICE ON TAP.

I have had to drink vodka and tonic in this heat with NO ICE mumsnet. If that doesn't sway it ("mumsnetter drinks drinks in summer heat with no ice shocker") I am leaving and going to netmums not really

TheRealMBJ · 11/07/2011 13:01

I didn't want to ask Jasper in case you were lucky and I wasn't.

Yes, I'm that sad Grin

BerryLellow · 11/07/2011 13:04

Has anyone heard yet? I doubt very much I'll get one down in Cornwall, but I can still hope...

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 11/07/2011 13:24

mummylin2495 · 11/07/2011 13:43

I am hyperventilating now ! The only thing to cure me would be a fridge/freezer to try out.Come on MN im sure you dont want me to be ill !!!

WhipMeIndiana · 11/07/2011 13:43

there're 30 fridges,
I counted 90 applicants on this thread, probably closer to 100 of entrants who didn't post as well,
roughly 1/3 or 1/4 chance then?

TheRealMBJ · 11/07/2011 13:43

But yes, you are right, definitely the
most competent member of MNHQ. And so kind to give us an update.

Can I get you anything Helen? Cup of tea? Slice of chocolate cake? Just baked some, you know. It would be no trouble....

WhipMeIndiana · 11/07/2011 13:45

I will be making chocolate rice crispie cakes with mini marshmallows, Helen.............

AnnMumsnet · 11/07/2011 14:06

lovecorrie · 11/07/2011 14:10

It's not CAKE they want - it's sparkling champagne Wink. I'm off to the offy in a minute...

TheRealMBJ · 11/07/2011 14:18

I have a bottle of Veuve Clicquot just sitting here (teetotal as up the duff). It wouldn't be missed, not really...

lovecorrie · 11/07/2011 14:18

Oh no, that's not nice at all. nonononono...

DirtyMartini · 11/07/2011 14:21
GetOrfMoiLand · 11/07/2011 14:26

I can't bake cakes.

I can make spiffing cocktails though.

However I need ICE.
