We have a very exciting product test for you...We've been asked by Samsung to find 30 Mumsnetters to try out their new G-Series American-style fridge freezer (average selling price £1,800) in their home and give feedback on Talk. Everyone who is selected to take part and adds their feedback will get to keep the fridge freezer forever!

This is what Samsung says about the product: "With the new G-Series three door American-style fridge freezer, you will get lots more storage space thanks to thin wall insulation technology. You also get the benefit of some really clever features, all designed to make your life easier. A plumbed dispenser gives you chilled and filtered ice and water on tap, foldable shelves mean you can fit all your food and drink in irrespective of their size, shape, width or breadth, and FreshSafe Vegetable drawers give you the best humidity levels to preserve vitamins and nutrients in any fruits and vegetables you?re storing. Even better is the CoolSelect Pantry which acts as a mini fridge within a fridge. It?s an independently controlled drawer which can be set to three different temperatures, so you can be sure you are storing your food at the right temperature."

There are a number of criteria for taking part in this project - to take part you must:

  • Live in mainland UK
  • Be willing to provide two lots of feedback (once when the fridge freezer has just been delivered and again after a couple of months) which will appear on MN and may be used for marketing by Samsung (they will link to the feedback thread from their website - you can namechange for the feedback if you like)
  • Be available at home for one weekday in the next 2-3 weeks (date to be arranged with Samsung) for delivery
  • Have space, electricity and a cold water supply (for ice and water dispenser) for a fridge freezer this size in your kitchen (or wherever it would live) - click here for more information on dimensions etc

If you are selected to take part, the fridge freezer will be delivered free of charge but Samsung aren't able to remove any old appliances so you would need to arrange for any existing fridge freezer occupying the space to be removed yourself.

You will get to keep the new fridge freezer once the product test is finished - so long as you add at least 2 lots of feedback on Mumsnet. Feedback will focus on overall impressions of the fridge freezer, the flexibility of the storage space inside it, any features you particularly like etc.

If you are interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks

Really wish our kitchen was big enough to have entered this one!

Good luck to everyone who meets the criteria!

moominthecorner · 10/07/2011 22:11

I'm not thinking about it. Lalalalala no, not me. Not at all.

mummylin2495 · 10/07/2011 23:21

I have been going from one extreme to the other, telling dh to hurry up and get on with the new room cause i need to put a new fridge in it ,then 5 minutes later i think to myself, its not going to happen so it dosent matter if the room isnt finished ! I am not usually lucky in these things ,but i did get some batteries last year !!!

SchrodingersMew · 11/07/2011 02:24

DurhamDurham · 11/07/2011 08:08

The suspense is killing me!!

I keep clicking on the link, torturing myself looking at the damn fridgefreezer!

mummylin2495 · 11/07/2011 08:16

I have already talked myself into being disappointed.Things like this dont happen to me. >

lovecorrie · 11/07/2011 08:27

ooooh, it's today then is it??

TheRealMBJ · 11/07/2011 08:48

The thing is though, you never get a 'Sorry, but you weren't chosen' email, so carry on checking until the end of the week when, it becomes clear that you are the stupid sod that clung to a scrap of hope. Blush

northernmonkey · 11/07/2011 09:21

Oh I thought that was just me MJB

I must admit i've never been so bothered about one of these product testing than this one.

SchrodingersMew · 11/07/2011 10:27

Haven't heard anything yet so kind of guessing I was unlucky. :(

TheRealMBJ · 11/07/2011 10:30

Me neither Sad

But there is a strange number on my phone? No voice message though....

SchrodingersMew · 11/07/2011 10:33

I don't have any strange numbers. :(

TheRealMBJ · 11/07/2011 10:35

I'm just an eternal optimist. Grin We live in the middle of nowhere. There is no way we will ever be chosen for any of the cool stuff. I only ever get the tomato seeds (which were a massive failure in our late frosting North Yorkshire rural dump) or other small, easily delivered stuff. Sad

SchrodingersMew · 11/07/2011 10:38

I try to be optimistic about these things.... But I always fail miserably! Wink Don't think I have ever even gotten anything like tomato seeds!

Tequilamockinbird · 11/07/2011 10:38

Heard nothing here either Sad

Still keeping everything crossed though!

SchrodingersMew · 11/07/2011 10:39

I've been bloody checking everything they could possibly contact!

Refreshing MN, emails, checking phone.

I think I may be going a bit mad! :o

TheRealMBJ · 11/07/2011 10:41

Well, if I don't 'win' this one then surely I'm due the Euromillions? Grin

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/07/2011 10:44

Oh god is today DDay?

I bloody hope I have this fridge.

Please mumsnet. I love you. And all things Samsung.

SchrodingersMew · 11/07/2011 10:54

Yep! Today is DDay! Been waiting all weekend too.

I will be very [henvy] to whomever gets it. :)

TheRealMBJ · 11/07/2011 10:56

They should make it compulsory that you sign your name if you were lucky... Then at least we'll know.

SchrodingersMew · 11/07/2011 10:57

Haha, bit of a stalker there MBJ. [hwink] :o
