We have a very exciting product test for you...We've been asked by Samsung to find 30 Mumsnetters to try out their new G-Series American-style fridge freezer (average selling price £1,800) in their home and give feedback on Talk. Everyone who is selected to take part and adds their feedback will get to keep the fridge freezer forever!

This is what Samsung says about the product: "With the new G-Series three door American-style fridge freezer, you will get lots more storage space thanks to thin wall insulation technology. You also get the benefit of some really clever features, all designed to make your life easier. A plumbed dispenser gives you chilled and filtered ice and water on tap, foldable shelves mean you can fit all your food and drink in irrespective of their size, shape, width or breadth, and FreshSafe Vegetable drawers give you the best humidity levels to preserve vitamins and nutrients in any fruits and vegetables you?re storing. Even better is the CoolSelect Pantry which acts as a mini fridge within a fridge. It?s an independently controlled drawer which can be set to three different temperatures, so you can be sure you are storing your food at the right temperature."

There are a number of criteria for taking part in this project - to take part you must:

  • Live in mainland UK
  • Be willing to provide two lots of feedback (once when the fridge freezer has just been delivered and again after a couple of months) which will appear on MN and may be used for marketing by Samsung (they will link to the feedback thread from their website - you can namechange for the feedback if you like)
  • Be available at home for one weekday in the next 2-3 weeks (date to be arranged with Samsung) for delivery
  • Have space, electricity and a cold water supply (for ice and water dispenser) for a fridge freezer this size in your kitchen (or wherever it would live) - click here for more information on dimensions etc

If you are selected to take part, the fridge freezer will be delivered free of charge but Samsung aren't able to remove any old appliances so you would need to arrange for any existing fridge freezer occupying the space to be removed yourself.

You will get to keep the new fridge freezer once the product test is finished - so long as you add at least 2 lots of feedback on Mumsnet. Feedback will focus on overall impressions of the fridge freezer, the flexibility of the storage space inside it, any features you particularly like etc.

If you are interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks
MNHQ

I'd love to get a fridge freezer to test like everybody on this thread and I've submitted the form - but I have no idea if I have actually successfully submitted an entry or not Blush as like shakey it took me straight to the blog page...

NewGirlHelenMumsnet is this what is supposed to have happened? Please please can I put a plea in for next time there is a form to fill in like this that there is a message or page to tell us that the application has been successfully submitted so I can at least dream for a few days that I might get a fridge freezer (or whatever you have up your sleeves to try out on us hapless mnetters!) rather than worry that my application never even made it as far as MNHQ Grin

Oh and please can you let me know if getting the blog page means that my application didn't actually make it so I can try to apply again.

thank you!

AnnMumsnet · 08/07/2011 00:08

zipzap + Shakey1500 - your form was in ok thanks. you should go to Mumsnet.com once you have completed the form

zipzap · 08/07/2011 00:14

Wow AnnMumsnet you are dedicated to the cause and working late! Grin thanks for the answer - I've just looked back and seen that I was taken to the mumsnet.com page - but as I was looking for something to say that I'd been successful in submitting my application the thing that stood out was the blogging title, hence thinking I'd gone to a page about blogging...

Look, I'm going tomorrow to get new ff so can you just pm me Helen to say one of these is mine to save me the trip. Thanks

5GoMadOnAZ650 · 08/07/2011 08:24

Gah Dp measured the space wrong so can you take us out of the entry please :(

TheRealMBJ · 08/07/2011 09:42

We have plenty of space! Please, please can I try this one I really need a new freezer anyway.

TheRealMBJ · 08/07/2011 09:48

We are in the process of planning a new kitchen anyway. So this would be perfect for us now.

(Can you tell I'm desperate to try it? Grin)

Fimbo · 08/07/2011 09:57

Can I repeat the question - does it have to be hooked up to a water supply?

pinkthechaffinch · 08/07/2011 10:32

did my form go in ok, MNHQ? Confused

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 08/07/2011 10:56

MrsOnTheMove - don't worry, we have your entry!
pinkthechaffinch - yes, we got yours too
fimbo - yes, you need to have a cold water supply within 4 metres of where it will live
5gomad - oh no, sorry to hear that! We'll take you out
said - nice try but we won't be doing the selection and notifying testers til Monday, sorry!
BettyTurnip - we select at random from all those who meet the recruitment criteria - heart-rending stories bear no weight honest!
PIMSoclock - we'll be in touch with selected testers early next week
Nicola27 - don't worry, we have your entry

Thanks to everyone who has applied - we're closing this now!

Lilpickle08 · 08/07/2011 14:05

Really gutted, thought I'd be all virtuous and go for a swim before I filled the questionnaire in. Came back, filled it in merrily and then it came back 'closed'. Very upset! :-(

lisad123 · 08/07/2011 17:20

Im not getting too excited, its highly unlikely that i will get one, but oooo a girl can dream. I must not moan, i do have two empty soap dispencers on the side board Grin oh BUT one is silver to match this beutiful fridge!
