We have a very exciting product test for you...We've been asked by Samsung to find 30 Mumsnetters to try out their new G-Series American-style fridge freezer (average selling price £1,800) in their home and give feedback on Talk. Everyone who is selected to take part and adds their feedback will get to keep the fridge freezer forever!

This is what Samsung says about the product: "With the new G-Series three door American-style fridge freezer, you will get lots more storage space thanks to thin wall insulation technology. You also get the benefit of some really clever features, all designed to make your life easier. A plumbed dispenser gives you chilled and filtered ice and water on tap, foldable shelves mean you can fit all your food and drink in irrespective of their size, shape, width or breadth, and FreshSafe Vegetable drawers give you the best humidity levels to preserve vitamins and nutrients in any fruits and vegetables you?re storing. Even better is the CoolSelect Pantry which acts as a mini fridge within a fridge. It?s an independently controlled drawer which can be set to three different temperatures, so you can be sure you are storing your food at the right temperature."

There are a number of criteria for taking part in this project - to take part you must:

  • Live in mainland UK
  • Be willing to provide two lots of feedback (once when the fridge freezer has just been delivered and again after a couple of months) which will appear on MN and may be used for marketing by Samsung (they will link to the feedback thread from their website - you can namechange for the feedback if you like)
  • Be available at home for one weekday in the next 2-3 weeks (date to be arranged with Samsung) for delivery
  • Have space, electricity and a cold water supply (for ice and water dispenser) for a fridge freezer this size in your kitchen (or wherever it would live) - click here for more information on dimensions etc

If you are selected to take part, the fridge freezer will be delivered free of charge but Samsung aren't able to remove any old appliances so you would need to arrange for any existing fridge freezer occupying the space to be removed yourself.

You will get to keep the new fridge freezer once the product test is finished - so long as you add at least 2 lots of feedback on Mumsnet. Feedback will focus on overall impressions of the fridge freezer, the flexibility of the storage space inside it, any features you particularly like etc.

If you are interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks
MNHQ

Hmm. At work at the moment so will have to check size when I get home in the morning - it is substantially bigger than out current fridge, but I reckon it'll be alright...

moominthecorner · 07/07/2011 06:57

Please pick mr!

moominthecorner · 07/07/2011 06:59

Or me, even! Dang predictive text Wink

HeadfirstForHalos · 07/07/2011 07:22

Me please! Our fridgefreezer is too small for 6 of us, plus all of the freezer drawers are cracked or broken now(plus it's a beko shh)

Doobydoo · 07/07/2011 08:01

DONE.I really want this!Smile

5inthebed · 07/07/2011 08:12

Monty27 I can beat that, my Beko was bought in 2003.

MrsChemist · 07/07/2011 08:29

I never thought i'd be glad of the stupid layout of my kitchen units, but because they are impractical, there is a nice space that could fit it in right next to the sink and washing machine.

TinFairy · 07/07/2011 08:39

Blatant discrimination against the non-mainland dwellers. MNHQ does realise that the rest of us 'across the water' do have electricity, running water and everything

GetOrf · 07/07/2011 08:51

I would LOVE this, I was just about to have a look this weekend for a new fridge freezer, mine is CRAP.

I have a great big 8 foot long wall with nothing on it at the moment where the fridge could go.

My SIL has one of these and it makes me spit with jealousy - it has a fast cool gizmo in which to cool down bottles of wine in MINUTES. I need it for that reason alone!

MrsChemist · 07/07/2011 08:54

I forgot to put that my freezers drawers are broken on my application thing. I should have said that. Damn!

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 07/07/2011 09:09

SchrodingersMew - we'll be in touch with the selected 30 testers early next week

TinFairy - sorry, it's a delivery issue, not much we can do about it this time but keep your eyes peeled for other cracking product tests soon!

Yes please! I have the space and will have the plumbing put in - it just needs to extend a couple of metres. I am a really good, thorough reviewer!

SchrodingersMew · 07/07/2011 09:59

NewGirlHelenMumsnet Thanks. :)

zingzillachinchilla · 07/07/2011 10:11

I already have an earlier model of such a Samsung fridge freezer, and I love it! I have the water and the power supply to my existing one, so it would be so nice to have a shiny new one... fingers crossed!

alibubbles · 07/07/2011 10:49

It look just my Maytag Trilogy

triggles I had that problem with my first Maytag, they sent me £300 to buy a fridge whilst waiting for the parts, 6 weeks later still no parts or news of repair, so I insisted on a new one. I got to keep the fridge too!

lovecorrie · 07/07/2011 10:53

done. how exciting!

clangermum · 07/07/2011 11:00

done too. never normally get picked for stuff like this but here's hoping.

HeadfirstForHalos · 07/07/2011 11:06

I should add to my previous post that I meet the criteria:)

NorkyButNice · 07/07/2011 11:25

No space here - gutted as I would LOVE one of those.

Not sure DH would be impressed if I suggested remodelling the brand new kitchen just to fit in a free fridge!

SoupDragon · 07/07/2011 11:31

"My SIL has one of these and it makes me spit with jealousy - it has a fast cool gizmo in which to cool down bottles of wine in MINUTES. I need it for that reason alone!"

My new Fischer & Paykel one has that I bought it to replace my old Samsung one.

HattiFattner · 07/07/2011 11:41

i NEED a new fridge. My kids are eating me out of house and home and now there's nowehere to put the wine (SHOCK! HORROR!) as the fridge is full of food. Save my sanity and let me have a new fridge/freezer please!

mummylin2495 · 07/07/2011 11:47

I would love to have one of these as we are currently having a new utility room and it would fit in nicely. My son has one similar and i love it.

feistychickfightingthebull · 07/07/2011 12:05

Have applied too, but I never ever get picked for these things - even ones where the offer is as little as twenty quid!!!! so really doubt that I will be picked but hey ho. I would absolutely love to have this fridge as we also have the dodgy Beko ones which can burst into flames at any time. A Samsung would be a definite upgrade

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/07/2011 12:15

I would so LOVE this.

Please pick me.

PLEASE

I have never been picked for anything, ever. I was that clumsy dolt at school and nobody ever wanted me on their rounders team because I dropped the ball. Sad

I am still incredibly mentally scarred and only a new american fridge freezer from SAMSUNG will be able to help my distress Smile

jasper1980 · 07/07/2011 12:20

Does it need to be hooked to the water supply or can you test without this?
