Those other variants were lucky, the Yorkshire variant has has to battle through 17 breeds of sheep to get to humans

whataballbag · 21/05/2021 16:02

Imagine how fuming bojo would be to see we're all just taking the piss out of it 😆

SulisMinerva · 21/05/2021 16:04

I wonder if one of the symptoms is the overwhelming urge to purchase a whippet.

I’ve had this for a few weeks! Maybe I’ve caught it. Grin

Wildswim · 21/05/2021 16:04

Worrying news indeed. What sounds like a very dangerous triple mutant in Yorkshire.

I believe their names are Charlotte, Emily and Anne.

naughty40me · 21/05/2021 16:05

I'm from Yorkshire....are we sure it dint start wi that meyt raffle darn werkinmens? Si the

Zilla1 · 21/05/2021 16:06

Is a variant that delights in calling a spade a spade then has a hissy fit when other variants do the same.

Perhaps the spectacular progress made in Sheffield in early vaccinations despite government obstructions and chaos wouldn't have been jeopardised by government screwing over the PCNs further?

Fascinating thread. Can someone explain the 'bah gum' pun? I'm not a native speaker.

Zilla1 · 21/05/2021 16:08

Is it true the Geordie variant is a virus without any viral coat or jacket proteins?

Chillychangchoo · 21/05/2021 16:10

It’s gotta be a mutant strain then coming from Yorkshire.

I can only drink the proper Yorkshire tea (pg tips aka piss water for emergencies only) so one can only fear the strength of this variant. Shudders.

Suranjeep · 21/05/2021 16:13

@dementedma

Just braced up here for our very own Scottish variant....
I'd call that Krankie McVariant

All this pissing down rain we are having
It’s bound to wash it away

HighlandCowbag · 21/05/2021 16:15

It'll be double 'ard if it's Yorkshire. Proper, double 'ard.

shewalkslikerihanna · 21/05/2021 16:16

@ThreeLocusts

Eeh by gum
Is an old Yorkshire Expression
For ... fucking hell!

Hoppinggreen · 21/05/2021 16:18

An ITN journo posted on our local FB page asking if anyone would talk to them about an alleged outbreak at a local school
She was unequivocally told to bugger off

I'm a Lancastrian living in Derbyshire (foreigner) - we can't compete. I'm sure you tykes'll sort it out.

theemmadilemma · 21/05/2021 16:20

Grin This thread is why I fell in love with Yorkshire and I'm never leaving here.

TheQueef · 21/05/2021 16:20

@ThreeLocusts 'ee bah gum' is Yorkshire dialect, a bit like a non blasphemous 'oh my god' but very versatile and tailorable to any situations.
It's all about how long the 'eeeee' is.
Most Yorkshire people use it regularly, makes a good punctuation noise too.

shewalkslikerihanna · 21/05/2021 16:21

@Hoppinggreen
Yorkshire fights back

Bout bloody time we showed our metal !👍

Can I be the first to mention floods at this point?
