Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news...

Anybody care to join?

I realised that it was the everyday stuff I missed most during lockdown. I really miss things being normal and dull and unexciting. Everyone in RL just talks covid covid covid all the bloody time. If it isn't covid it's recessions and A levels.

I bought a new flask. It's a 500ml Thermocafe and I love it. I take it into work and out into the garden.

I am also learning to do something called a "halo braid" in my hair. I am so bad at braiding it's unbelievable.

The cat hid a dead shrew in DH's slipper this morning.

I invite you all to top this parade of mediocrity.

That is a truly lovely bread bin.

I have one of those corner sofas, and I like to sit with my head in the corner and my feet stretched out, but I get a crick in my neck. If I lie on my side, my neck is OK but my wrist gets sore with holding my kindle, and I fall asleep.

Not sure what to do about it all

I have decided to grow my hair. It's been extremely short for several years (it got really crappy & thin) & it appears to have improved a bit so I'm giving it a chance. But I need to dye it... so much grey.

And, my back has briefly stopped hurting for the first time in 2 days. I'm floating on a cloud of codeine... I'm finishing my tea & going to bed before it wears off.

@ReallySpicyCurry - when I had long hair, I found a dutch braid easier than a french braid. Not sure why, probably something to do with finger movements etc.

Mamette · 18/08/2020 23:07

I have Roman toes in my left foot but my right foot is stateless, hmm.

I have a project deadline for 28th August and I’ll probably make the deadline if I work hard between then and now.

oomymoomy · 18/08/2020 23:08

Today I manually hemmed four pairs of school trousers and the cuffs of a blazer (DS starting secondary so all new uniform and slightly too big / long).

I’m nauseatingly pleased with myself about it. Not because I've never done it before - I have - but because there are three weeks still to go but now I don't have to think about it again. Smile

Only read 4 pages but if you want fountain pens, Google Cult Pens.

They are independent, generally quick service and often inc sweets or a small freebie in the packet.

I buy all pens there now!

MajesticWhine · 18/08/2020 23:10

DD is allergic to one of our dogs. We got a cockerpoo believing they are hypoallergenic but that is not the case. She's ok with the right meds though, and I bought a new bottle this morning.

Mrsfrumble · 18/08/2020 23:12

I’m impressed with all the braiding! I can only do basic plaits on DD, and can’t even do my own because I can’t see behind my own head! BlushGrin

This morning I booked 5 nights at a “wild” (minimal facilities) campsite in Wales for next week. The weather forecast is shit. DH and the children are really excited, so I’m pretending I am too.

Duffmcstockings · 18/08/2020 23:12

I just herd an owl.

ThorFull · 18/08/2020 23:13

DS, aged 4, is sleeping in my bed because I couldn’t be bothered to put him to bed and DH seems really tired, so will snore like an angry bear tonight.
Chatting as he was falling asleep, told me if I was as big as a tree, I’d be a giant.

PettyLittleThings · 18/08/2020 23:14

My DD has aboriginal toes but she calls them bunny ears.

I ate a cucumelon for the first time today.

Howallergic · 18/08/2020 23:16

I lost my codeine which I was discharged from hospital with yesterday. Really need it or will need to go back into hospital for the 3rd time in 2 weeks.

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 18/08/2020 23:16

I just found the The Young Ones on Britbox so I'm watching it. And drinking a pint of water.

funnyoldonion · 18/08/2020 23:17

Today I was subbed a large garlic for the price of a regular one and got an extra broccoli in my shopping.

Also, won £30 on the lottery, things are on the up

Doobydoo · 18/08/2020 23:19

Neveranynamesleft · 18/08/2020 23:21

Threw my old slippers in the bin.

MenaiMna · 18/08/2020 23:25

My car passed its MOT today, I didn't expect it to fail.

Serendipper · 18/08/2020 23:25

My son did a wee on the potty this morning. He’s got the floor ever since but I’m still super pleased at that one!
I also have a lovely new nightie and dressing gown for my hospital bag!

Hutella · 18/08/2020 23:27

I had a shower with my 5 and 6 year old because they ganged up and refused to wash themselves unless I joined in.

Greek toe - hopefully no Oedipus ancestry.

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 18/08/2020 23:28

I have Egyptian toes
I went to actual work today for the first time in months. The dog missed me and I've gained a shadow.
Dm saw eye to eye in something 😲 and talked girly shit 😲😲😲

gggrrrargh · 18/08/2020 23:37

I have Roman toes!

I am feeling very pleased with self as sport massage person gave me some back exercises to do.. and I’ve done them a whole 2 days in a row so far. I am expecting wild praise when she sees the dramatic change in me

Goldistheanswer · 18/08/2020 23:43

Just sitting here on MN when the dog walked in with a rat in his mouth. Cue massive panic before I realised it was a wet, black sock!

greyhoundexplorer · 18/08/2020 23:45

Egyptian toes here
Rescue dog is coming out her shell and getting cheeky
She stole a slice of bread and some Lego.
I retrieve the Lego but not the bread 😂

LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone · 18/08/2020 23:57

I downloaded a house cleaning app today.
I cleaned the dining room, because the app said so.

ILoveAnOwl · 19/08/2020 00:00

We plugged in our new fridge freezer. It arrived just before we went on holiday so we decided to leave it for 'something to look forward to' on our return. I found it anticlimactic. DH spent much of the day reading me snippets from the instruction manual.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 19/08/2020 00:04

I have egyptian toes, with the exception that I have freaky tiny toes, which sit on top of my fourth toe.
