Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news...

Anybody care to join?

I realised that it was the everyday stuff I missed most during lockdown. I really miss things being normal and dull and unexciting. Everyone in RL just talks covid covid covid all the bloody time. If it isn't covid it's recessions and A levels.

I bought a new flask. It's a 500ml Thermocafe and I love it. I take it into work and out into the garden.

I am also learning to do something called a "halo braid" in my hair. I am so bad at braiding it's unbelievable.

The cat hid a dead shrew in DH's slipper this morning.

I invite you all to top this parade of mediocrity.

My sidesleeper cushion arrived - it comfy and red.

Plainandsimple · 24/08/2020 19:36

We had a full English breakfast today for tea, lots of fried food and stodge really suits this weather.

Lweji · 24/08/2020 19:41

The veterinary grade pet food I ordered has arrived. At my work. It will have to wait until I go there.

PC20 · 24/08/2020 20:19

Oh this thread is making me laugh. It is do banal!
Several pages back someone mentioned looking for a new vacuum. I bought a Shark last year & I love it. Today used it to get (rather too many) spiders webs off my ceilings

PC20 · 24/08/2020 20:19

*so banal!
I should spell check

BoreOfWhabylon · 24/08/2020 20:31

@oomymoomy it's the MS Society. I don't know if they're doing it everywhere though.

AnneBoleynsHead · 24/08/2020 20:52

A wasp stung me on the finger this afternoon.
I made all of today's meals from the Blood Sugar 800 calorie cookbook. Sadly the in-between meal snacks to stave off starvation took me up to 1500 calories.

SRK16 · 24/08/2020 20:53

I can’t tell whether I have Egyptian or Norwegian toes.

I hinted at my husband to get me some chocolate and he didn’t. Too lazy to go myself but do really fancy it. Dilemma.

badg3r · 24/08/2020 20:59

I have washed approximately half of the sofa scatter cushion covers this evening and managed to trim my big toenails to the same length. Oh, and I changed the rigs on the sofa and armchair round. REBEL!

badg3r · 24/08/2020 21:00

That should be throws not rigs 🤣 I guess I can add now that I have corrected a typo as well in a post on an online forum. Totally nailing Monday.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 24/08/2020 21:00

I started to read 'The shining' ...

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 24/08/2020 21:02

I've just walked the dogs and one of them fell in a stream. They also had flashing collars on.

LJZRBB · 24/08/2020 21:06

I just got my eye brows done. Finally. Yay!!
However their prices have gone up 50% since before lockdown. Boo

SpeedofaSloth · 24/08/2020 21:13

I sold some sewing patterns on eBay. I will post them tomorrow.

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/08/2020 21:13

I am working from home and decided to move my laptop to the other side of the dining table today.

dementedma · 24/08/2020 21:20

I have washed my hair, shaved my legs and put on moisturiser. I'm practically glamorous

forgetthehousework · 24/08/2020 21:29

I should go and start the washing up.
I really do need a monkey butler!

HelenaJustina · 24/08/2020 21:31

I’ve made a new recipe for dinner (All in one jewelled pearl barley with squash, pomegranate, watercress and feta) and loaded the dishwasher. Not a lot else achieved this evening...

ChinUpChestOut · 24/08/2020 21:36

I used up Sunday's roast chicken in a lovely leftovers fry up for dinner tonight. I think I put in too much parsley though.

I've been running around the house all morning tidying and cleaning for the viewing that was scheduled at noon. I do hope they make an offer.

I must remember to wash my hair tomorrow morning.

Greenandcabbagelooking · 24/08/2020 21:40

@Plussizejumpsuit

I took my car to the garage today for its first service with me as owner.

@Greenandcabbagelooking don't know what it says about my life but I genuinely feel your heated airer news is exciting!

Hahaha, I mean, I'm buying it to go in a new house, which is exciting. But there's certainly more exciting things to buy!
EggyPegg · 24/08/2020 21:44
@ReallySpicyCurry
Cheesy beans AND tuna. No, no, no, no, no. Fish and cheese together is all kinds of wrong.
I have African toes.

HA! DS1 had a jacket potato with tuna and cheese today. It's his favourite topping. I'm veggie so I don't weigh in on the cheese debate when it comes to fish.

I'm making a blanket for myself for a change. I bought 4 balls of Bulky yarn and thought that would be enough to make a big snuggly beast. It's currently the width of a very wide scarf (albeit a long one) and I'm half way through my second ball. I have realised this this is going to be a Very Expensive Blanket. It is my birthday this week and I'm now hoping for birthday money to buy more yarn except I haven't had birthday money in years

sarahC40 · 24/08/2020 21:55

I got some planning done; I am going to school tomorrow to prep another classroom and count books; and I bout a shark today as the Dyson started to smoke which didn’t seem reasonable.

sarahC40 · 24/08/2020 21:56

Bought! When can we have an edit button?

SunshineCake · 24/08/2020 21:58

This is a great thread.

I tripped over a bag today. My cat was rather unimpressed to get wet when he went out in the rain. The neighbours put the wrong bin out and they never do that.

margaritasbythesea · 24/08/2020 22:11

I am sad because I have Norwegian toes and this is unsurprising to me.

I bought a new cat wormer today and I don't like it as much as the usual one.

No waterlillies in stock at the local garden centre, unfortunately.
