Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news...

Anybody care to join?

I realised that it was the everyday stuff I missed most during lockdown. I really miss things being normal and dull and unexciting. Everyone in RL just talks covid covid covid all the bloody time. If it isn't covid it's recessions and A levels.

I bought a new flask. It's a 500ml Thermocafe and I love it. I take it into work and out into the garden.

I am also learning to do something called a "halo braid" in my hair. I am so bad at braiding it's unbelievable.

The cat hid a dead shrew in DH's slipper this morning.

I invite you all to top this parade of mediocrity.

Saw the sunshine this morning and put on one of my favourite, floaty, halter-neck summer dresses (usually more of a 'going out' item tbh but since that's not happening, I've abandoned all such classifications of clothing!). I’m a bit too cold now, but trying to ignore it / pretend I’m not, in case this is my last chance this year to wear this dress.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 24/08/2020 14:53

I am sitting here doing backups of data files and fotos.

DS has decided which subject will be the 'oral exam only' for his Abitur and submittet a concept for the 5th component paper he has to write.
I am suprised at is energy - but perhaps he has had a talking to at school.

netsybetsy · 24/08/2020 15:27

Doing the Tesco online shop.
Managed to walk dog between rain showers.
Enjoying 80s nostalgia progs on YouTube

netsybetsy · 24/08/2020 15:28

Oh! I have African toes Smile

Greenandcabbagelooking · 24/08/2020 15:29

Hold onto your hats, this is thrilling and excited news...

I bought a heated clothes airer from Lakeland. And some muslins form Primark.

Roystonv · 24/08/2020 16:14

You are meant to remove sellotape before recycling cardboard Shock, who else knew this and why don't I? To comply with thread requirements ...... I cut my toenails this morning

Happynow001 · 24/08/2020 16:21

@HelloDulling

Have just sewn name tapes into DS’s new uniform, washed floor and am about to walk to the bank to pay DD’s drama fees.

This morning went to M&S and got there as they were doing the yellow sticker reductions. You should see my freezer!

Gosh. I'm really envious of your M&S yellow sticker items!

Plussizejumpsuit · 24/08/2020 16:22

I took my car to the garage today for its first service with me as owner.

@Greenandcabbagelooking don't know what it says about my life but I genuinely feel your heated airer news is exciting!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 24/08/2020 16:34

DD came back from the library and bought ice cream on the way home.
Which is exciting, but only mildly...

firecracker69 · 24/08/2020 16:41

I hate wearing foundation but wanted a bit of colour to brighten up my face before applying my make up. I used a foundation brush to "dab" some fake tan to my face.

Just got back from afternoon tea with friends. Imagine my surprise when I was greeted by an Oompa Loompa upon inspecting my make up in the bathroom mirror. I clearly "daubed" rather than "dabbed."🤡

Cocolapew · 24/08/2020 16:58

I went for a walk after work and now my legs are sore.
I did more laminating today, it was very satisfying.

BikeRunSki · 24/08/2020 17:12

Your library is open??!
Cavagirl · 24/08/2020 17:19

My Le Creuset butter dish finally arrived today after 2 bloody months waiting for it to come back in stock! Now need to buy butter...

BoreOfWhabylon · 24/08/2020 17:27

I have found a charity shop that will collect donations. They are coming on Thursday. So now I have two days to do a massive clear out.
I'll start tomorrow.

My feet appear to be multicultural. Or possibly alien.

Autumnchill · 24/08/2020 17:44

I got a sleep rating of 89 on my Fitbit. This is my highest rating in over a year

oomymoomy · 24/08/2020 17:46

@BoreOfWhabylon Do you mind if I ask which charity please? I have about 6-8 bags of decluttered stuff sitting in my spare room, waiting for the charity shops to reopen. I’m desperate to get rid!

labazsisgoingmad · 24/08/2020 17:53

took photos of the stuff to go on ebay and etsy.
took dogs outside for a wee several times!
refreshed their water the dogs i mean

NeedToKnow101 · 24/08/2020 18:01

I found a facemask that I thought I had lost. In the pocket of an item I hardly wear.

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 24/08/2020 18:02

I’ve been looking for shelves for DD1 for Christmas, she’s 10 (11 at Christmas) and this is the second year she’s asked for one.

I’m eating a huge bowl of strawberry ice cream whilst watching The Simpsons.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 24/08/2020 18:25

@BikeRunSki

Yes, but I am in Berlin - with some restrictions but you get your books.

NeedToKnow101 · 24/08/2020 18:38

@BikeRunSki - some of the libraries in London are open too (only for dull and unexciting books though).

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 24/08/2020 18:44

I've written and posted two anniversary cards, and vacuumed under the sofa cushions.

I have unclassifiable toes. I might pain them to make myself feel better about this.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 24/08/2020 18:45

*paint them. I already pained one foot by putting the vacuum down on them.

Beebopbad · 24/08/2020 18:59

I have one Egyptian and one Mongolian set of toes.

I bought these little rope bags that you put soap in then lather it up for the shower. They arrived today.
