Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news...

Anybody care to join?

I realised that it was the everyday stuff I missed most during lockdown. I really miss things being normal and dull and unexciting. Everyone in RL just talks covid covid covid all the bloody time. If it isn't covid it's recessions and A levels.

I bought a new flask. It's a 500ml Thermocafe and I love it. I take it into work and out into the garden.

I am also learning to do something called a "halo braid" in my hair. I am so bad at braiding it's unbelievable.

The cat hid a dead shrew in DH's slipper this morning.

I invite you all to top this parade of mediocrity.

@mathanxiety

I can't figure out if my toes are African or Oriental. Feet are really weird.
Me too. We are foot twins.

I'm picking up my asda order later. There is wine in it. Grin

ChocolateCoffeeCake · 22/08/2020 08:32

I washed my hair this morning. I wasn't going to but I did.

FirelighterGirl · 22/08/2020 08:33

I'm about to do some yoga. Then tidy up.

kitschplease · 22/08/2020 08:35

I'm going to clean the oven today.

AwkwardSquad · 22/08/2020 08:49

I have oriental toes, apparently. I’m thinking of making a small batch of rhubarb jam this weekend - last chance before the end of the season.

cricketmum84 · 22/08/2020 08:50

I went to the supermarket for gravy powder.

I came back with bread, cookie and cream magnums, pringles, veggie lamb koftas, babybels, cider.... and no gravy powder! 😳

Ninkanink · 22/08/2020 09:11

Today we’re going to the cheese shop and also a garden centre.

Goyle · 22/08/2020 09:19

I'm getting an electric bike from my employers Cycle2work scheme but it might not arrive until October because there is a backlog of orders.

MajesticWhine · 22/08/2020 09:23

I just can't work out which toes I have. Greek possibly. I need to do some laundry today. I might place a shopping order to come next week.

SpeedofaSloth · 22/08/2020 09:27

I'm taking DD to Primark today to spend her pocket money, she says that's where they sell the best Tic Tacs.

ElectiveAffinities · 22/08/2020 09:28

I wanted to try growing pea-shoots from dried peas but our Sainsbury's didn't stock them. Then I found a big pack in our fantastic nearby shop which stocks every kind of slightly random ingredient imaginable.

I now have lots of pea-shoots and will eat them in a salad.

Welikebeingcosy · 22/08/2020 09:30

I've run out of blueberries and debating if I should do a trip on the bus to Lidl where they are half price and get a few extra bits or hold out for my big ASDA delivery shop when all the food runs low.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 22/08/2020 09:48

I've run out of blueberries

I missed the blueberry offer when it was on at Aldi, and it was in my local Lidl last week but DH didn't go because when he was ready the heavens opened and the roads flooded.

How much do your want the bargain blueberries? (I wanted to freeze them so I'm Sad to have missed the special offer.)

HaveYouSeenMyFriendKimberley · 22/08/2020 10:12

I have a bag of dried peas sitting in the cupboard I bought for that purpose ElectiveAffinities. Sadly I've not felt the inspiration in sixth months!

WouldBeGood · 22/08/2020 10:18

Who knew that’s how you get pea shoots? I’m excited now and must try this.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 22/08/2020 10:27

I need to reseed borretsch (borage?) for the bees.
It stopped raining

drinkingwineoutofamug · 22/08/2020 10:30

It's raining. Trying to figure out what to do 1st
House work (hell hole)
Assignment for uni ( just hell)
Which level of Dante's inferno should I begin at.
Brew first while I procrastinate

greenflamingo · 22/08/2020 10:38

My daughter just made batter for breakfast pancakes and caught the cat eating it.

Trailing1 · 22/08/2020 11:14

I just had a shower in peace and quiet without the kids harassing me.

elephantoverthehill · 22/08/2020 11:19

I am waiting for washing machine to finish so I can hang out the clothes and then go to the allotment to fight with some raspberry canes.

Gingernaut · 22/08/2020 12:33

When I went into Iceland, they had no Calgon scale preventer, no washing soda or distilled, white vinegar.

They usually have the glass bottles of the two types of Sarsons and small boxes of Calgon.

I had to pop into Aldi to see if they had something.

They had.

In the Aisle of Random, I found kilo bags of Washing Soda for 79p and boxes of Bicarbonate of Soda also for 79p.

Bought 6 bags and 2 boxes.

Also, in the Aisle of Random, six packs of the bar type trouser hangers, not the ones with the clips which I hate.

Also found the last two distilled, white vinegar bottles in amongst the malt, brown vinegar.

I had a Chinese takeaway for the first time in ages. And accidentally ordered chicken and cashew nuts, not chicken and cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce. It’s tasty. But not what I wanted.

turquoise50 · 22/08/2020 14:39

@SilenceOfThePrams Why did you have mention chicken & cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce? That's my all-time favourite! I LOVE it and will order it even if it's not on the menu (they always make it if you ask). Now I realise the last time I had it was probably last year (?!) and now I WANT IT. Seriously don't know if anything else will do for tea tonight now.
