Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news...

Anybody care to join?

I realised that it was the everyday stuff I missed most during lockdown. I really miss things being normal and dull and unexciting. Everyone in RL just talks covid covid covid all the bloody time. If it isn't covid it's recessions and A levels.

I bought a new flask. It's a 500ml Thermocafe and I love it. I take it into work and out into the garden.

I am also learning to do something called a "halo braid" in my hair. I am so bad at braiding it's unbelievable.

The cat hid a dead shrew in DH's slipper this morning.

I invite you all to top this parade of mediocrity.

DD vomited spectacularly in the car yesterday. First time she's ever been car sick, I hope its the last. Today, in an entirely related matter, I am having the car professionally cleaned inside.

maddy68 · 21/08/2020 14:57

I has my third x-ray today on my broken leg they were pleased it was less swollen

Ninkanink · 21/08/2020 14:58

I made a tuna and bean salad for lunch.

I bought some salad/starter plates in a lovely dark blue colour with a subtle pattern, to add some contrast to our dinner plates. Later I need to list some things on eBay to pay for said plates and other purchases.

I’m having a cup of tea now and after I think I’ll settle down to read for an hour or two.

Ninkanink · 21/08/2020 14:59

The spindly spiders eat the nasty thick-legged spiders, so I consider them my friends and allies in spider terms!

Bin85 · 21/08/2020 15:00

We were meant to be starting our holiday in France .
We ate croissants in the kitchen.

Ninkanink · 21/08/2020 15:01

Oh also, the high winds today caused my two plants stands to fall over and I came home to both my ivy plants smashed on the courtyard floor. So I’ve moved them to heavy pots on the steps to one side, and the plant stands have been relegated to the shed. This is a shame, as I can’t see them very well out of the kitchen window anymore. It seems very bare without them.

forgetthehousework · 21/08/2020 15:13

I am too hot with a cardigan over my tee shirt and too cold without it.
I should really go and put on a thicker shirt.
We are definitely having chips for tea.

(And the 1/24th dolls house workshop is finished).

Poor DD - sad little(?) mite. BUT Today, in an entirely related matter, I am having the car professionally cleaned inside. 😂😂

I really love this thread! Like Goldilocks' porridge - it's JUST right!! 🐻 🐻 🐻

I amused myself by seeing what predictive text comes up with, I like the ones from the right hand side best, I'll do an example now (you're welcome):
"the moomin will not even be nice though and it's really hot and the sun is really cold and the weather here is freezing windy weather with a coat of sun and it's a revenge day out and a musical"

Aaah I do love a dose of nonsense.

I'm participating in dreamlab but my phone seems to heat up fast and it's taking ages to actually get anything done.

We have a large number of earwigs in the garden this year. Exciting times.

I agree. 😊

I have my slightly smelly washing in the tumble drier to see if it refreshes it a bit. It non tumble stuff so I have a 10 minute timer set to check on it.
I'm eating toasted double chocolate pancakes.

The80sweregreat · 21/08/2020 15:54

You can buy products for washing machines that are meant to clean them or just check the filter. That can cause them to smell.
Had so many machines over the years. They only last about five or six years tops.

muckandnettles · 21/08/2020 15:55

The puppy likes his new toy I bought a while ago - it's the first day cool enough for him to do the running round it makes him do. He's quite tired now.

muckandnettles · 21/08/2020 15:58

Also, one of the nasty little flies that has been bothering me in the kitchen all week got caught in the spider's web in the corner of the kitchen and died buzzing horribly for what seemed like a very long time.

SecretWitch · 21/08/2020 15:59

@maddy68, I hope you mend quickly!💐

Made myself a lovely coffee

Cat hair floating in it

Bummer

Drank it anyway

Issantagettingbusy · 21/08/2020 16:08

Just bought my ds 5 a learn the time big clock for his room. Hope it isn't noisey or he will want the battery out!

Cocolapew · 21/08/2020 16:10

The washing was a bit musty smelling because I had to dry it indoors and had no heating on 80's.
I bung everything in the drier but can't do the DDs work polos because they have plasticity writing in them, and it was tipping it down here yesterday.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 21/08/2020 16:13

35°C right now - I am still doing nothing.

The80sweregreat · 21/08/2020 16:13

Ah, sorry I thought it was your machine !
I don't have much luck with washers.

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 21/08/2020 16:15

The rub a 2p coin on limescale really works and is strangely satisfying!!!

Today I have decluttered my wardrobe (so has DH) and the random crap drawer in the living room. The garage and loft are in for it tomorrow!

TheDogsMother · 21/08/2020 16:24

I also had tuna and bean salad for lunch. Big news from round our way. They've repainted the post box.

Frownette · 21/08/2020 16:26

I've put my wedding dress through the washing machine on delicate wash...we'll see how it turns out. One hour to go.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 21/08/2020 16:34

@stayingaliveisawayoflife

Does it have to be 2p?
I have limescale (very hot water area) but no p's 2 or otherwise
