Anybody care to join?

I realised that it was the everyday stuff I missed most during lockdown. I really miss things being normal and dull and unexciting. Everyone in RL just talks covid covid covid all the bloody time. If it isn't covid it's recessions and A levels.

I bought a new flask. It's a 500ml Thermocafe and I love it. I take it into work and out into the garden.

I am also learning to do something called a "halo braid" in my hair. I am so bad at braiding it's unbelievable.

The cat hid a dead shrew in DH's slipper this morning.

I invite you all to top this parade of mediocrity.

It’s so windy it made the dog jump when she was in the garden. I think she thought someone had stroked her, from the tail to the head.

Today I’ve added raisins, sultanas, currants and prunes to next weeks food shop so DH can start soaking the fruit for the 5 Christmas cakes he’s making.

I’m also getting annoyed trying to find a bike for DD’s (Christmas) birthday - why do they think all girls want pink/purple and/or flowery bikes? The ones I’ve found that she would like aren’t in stock anywhere near me/relatives or reasonable driving distance.

Since posting on this thread I’ve decided my life is quite exciting

More dull news:

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day. I couldn’t take advantage of it to hang washing out, even though I wanted to, as I was all caught up on the laundry!

I found a tiny slug frozen at the back of my fridge. I speculate that it escaped from a loosely wrapped lettuce.

An interesting ice cube for a Halloween party then!!

Oh god that’s the stuff of nightmares.

Last night I watched Bob Ross. Joy of Painting..he used mainly shades of brown..very soothing.
Today I have enquired about a job I am not sure I want but think I should go for.

I got a new kettle yesterday too! It's a cheapo tesco one bc my old posh morphy Richards contraption was not worth the money. Kept sloshing and burning me.

My DH has an appointment at the dentist today at 2.30!!!

I asked him this morning what time the appointment was and he told me with a straight face.

That's a red letter day nowadays.

Disappointed with fresh but filleted sardines, bones that were left too small to see but hurt in mouth.

My dentist isn't fully open yet. No idea when I can go for my check ups.
I just put the washing out so it'll probably rain now.

I've done that in the past, just for practise, and have often been offered those! Mainly because I was more relaxed and myself I think! 🌹

I am laminating things at work. The laminator is nice and warm

I popped out to get bread and eggs this morning and ran into the man who lived in our house for 15 years, moving in in 1979 and out in 1994 and we had a nice chat.

There are apples nearly ripe on a tree in the garden that I didn't even know about.

I bribed my kids to do a page each of a maths workbook today. They have done nothing all summer and I'm worried they'll find school a bit of a shock to the system otherwise.

I put the laundry out and then back in as it rained. Just contemplaring sorting out the pillow cases and The Cupboard of doom.

I've just folded all the washing - it was A LOT!

I've just looked on Rightmove but nothing of interest caught my eye.

My late-flowering clematis has just flowered and is looking delightful.

I always seem compelled to put 3 boring updates each time I post on this thread.

The cupboard of doom is sorted. We have too many duvets, covers, and beach towels.

Earlier in the week I made damson ice cream.

I've just espied one of those huge spindly ineffectual spiders in my bedroom (taking shelter from the storm, I guess).

I'll leave it up to its own devices unless it climbs on me, in which case all bets are off.

I painted the dining room most of the week. I'm delighted with it. It is unfashionable pale creamy white.

I've ordered two new sports bras today and I had a Dairylea Dipper for lunch.
My bird table has blown over on the winds.
