Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news...

Anybody care to join?

I realised that it was the everyday stuff I missed most during lockdown. I really miss things being normal and dull and unexciting. Everyone in RL just talks covid covid covid all the bloody time. If it isn't covid it's recessions and A levels.

I bought a new flask. It's a 500ml Thermocafe and I love it. I take it into work and out into the garden.

I am also learning to do something called a "halo braid" in my hair. I am so bad at braiding it's unbelievable.

The cat hid a dead shrew in DH's slipper this morning.

I invite you all to top this parade of mediocrity.

Today is a great drying day. I’m going to wash my towels.

Emma1962 · 20/08/2020 09:00

& clean my freezer. Excited.

Bin85 · 20/08/2020 09:07

I had some little To Do notebooks from Paperchase and went back to buy some more.
The assistant couldn't find them and said they didn't have them but after searching I found them !!!

JellyNo15 · 20/08/2020 09:12

I have grown my hair since lockdown and decided to keep the length when I had my hair cut and coloured a few weeks ago. I can now have a high ponytail for bed and it has more volume in the mornings now. Simple but not something I would have done if there had never been lockdown.

poppym12 · 20/08/2020 09:35

I've just found my ideal setting on the toaster.

Bells3032 · 20/08/2020 09:37

@poppym12 wow well done! I have never managed that. it is so hard!

poppym12 · 20/08/2020 09:41

I am tempted to remove the knobs so that no one can change it.

chargeorge · 20/08/2020 09:53

I havent' done any washing for a while but I'm on my last pair of panties so today's the day!! Fun ahead for me

HorridHamble · 20/08/2020 10:50

I was going to cancel my milk delivery because DC have gone off it. Went through 12 pints a week last year and now 2 pints a week, which usually get wasted. Felt bad for milkman as lots of people have cancelled now that we can visit shops whenever we want. Then I remembered he can deliver eggs and butter, so I changed my order from milk to eggs and butter.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 20/08/2020 11:11

@poppym12 put a tippex or nail polish dot exactly where the dial needs to go

Imgladimnotyourchild · 20/08/2020 11:19

I have Egyptian toes

Ninkanink · 20/08/2020 11:37

Today is a beautiful, sunny day! I’m going to walk into town to visit the blinds shop and choose blinds for our kitchen and bathroom.

OLGADEEPOLGA · 20/08/2020 11:42

I've just walked past a black jumper and said hello to it, thinking it was the cat. I'm now off for a sit down.

FawnDrench · 20/08/2020 11:44

I didn't get any GCSE results today because I took mine in the 70s.
At that time, grade 1 was the best you could get and 9 an abysmal failure.
I got grade 9 for chemistry.

The80sweregreat · 20/08/2020 11:49

Great thread! Doing boring things can be quite interesting.

pinkpetal2 · 20/08/2020 11:56

I went to Sainsbury's to get one thing. When I went I found loads of reduced meat we eat all the time, so that can be froze and I don't need to do a big shop now. I also found some glittery welly boots my daughter would love for £6 reduced from £20. Perked my day up.

Satsuma2 · 20/08/2020 12:01

I've got Celtic toes and I've done two loads of washing so far today. Going to get my car mucked out so she is tidy to see her doctor tomorrow.

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 20/08/2020 12:14

I’m another one whose grown their hair during lockdown I’ve gone from a pixie cut to a weird looking mullet style. Today I’m wearing pigtails - I’m 41.

I’ve ordered next weeks food shop

I’ve also ordered a sewing kit - I only needed some navy thread but decided a whole kit was a better idea.

Sunbird24 · 20/08/2020 12:16

I’m still in bed wasting time on MN when I should be getting washing done.

Bells3032 · 20/08/2020 12:29

@Sunbird24 i am supposed to be writing a job spec for a member of my staff and i am procrasonating

What is this egyptian and celtic toes thing everyones on about?

Sunbird24 · 20/08/2020 12:34

@Bells3032 there’s a picture on page 1 of lots of different toe types, can’t decide what mine are!

Coniferhedge · 20/08/2020 12:35

Later this afternoon I will be taking delivery of my Lakeland heated dryer so I can dry my washing without having to put the heating on. I nearly didn't post this as I'm sure you'll agree it's borderline too exciting for this thread.

Bells3032 · 20/08/2020 12:36

@Sunbird24 oh thanks. mine are egyptian.

Norfolkmum02 · 20/08/2020 12:38

I bought a new rug today

AnnieWay · 20/08/2020 12:46

I can't decide if I have Greek or African toes. As far as I'm aware, I'm about as genetically British as they come. DF has gone back quite a few generations in our family history & has only found English ancestors with the exception of one family who lived in Wales for a while...
