Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news...

Anybody care to join?

I realised that it was the everyday stuff I missed most during lockdown. I really miss things being normal and dull and unexciting. Everyone in RL just talks covid covid covid all the bloody time. If it isn't covid it's recessions and A levels.

I bought a new flask. It's a 500ml Thermocafe and I love it. I take it into work and out into the garden.

I am also learning to do something called a "halo braid" in my hair. I am so bad at braiding it's unbelievable.

The cat hid a dead shrew in DH's slipper this morning.

I invite you all to top this parade of mediocrity.

If it makes you feel any better @MrsBobDylan I just ordered DD’s uniform and the suppliers website said that order has to be submitted by the end of JUNE to guarantee delivery by September 😱

Ninkanink · 19/08/2020 15:12

@MojoJojo71 my vote is for freestanding. Doesn’t take much to keep it clean - a quick wipe of the sides and underside when I’m cleaning the bathroom, hoover under it when I hoover the upstairs floors (including the bathroom), and a wipe over the floor when I mop.

dudsville · 19/08/2020 15:18

I think I found a wild blueberry bush on my walk earlier, but I couldn't take a pic so can't be sure.

hardheadedwoman · 19/08/2020 15:20

Justajot I also got a new microwave without a turntable - revolutionary!

ChavvySexPond · 19/08/2020 15:24

My garden looks such a happy shade of green because of all the rain.

I have been sucked in to the RoboVac chat. Smile

I'm also in the market for a new lactic acid toner. (Any recs?)

Still haven't bought school shoes.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/08/2020 15:38

DD came out of her room and started to bake brownies.

elephantoverthehill · 19/08/2020 15:40

It's still raining and I have African toes. At least I worked out what to do with the chicken thighs for dinner tonight.

WoodenKitty · 19/08/2020 15:53

The plumber came this morning and fixed the leaky pipe dripping through my ceiling. A happy day!

Frownette · 19/08/2020 16:19

We had a power cut for god knows how long, maybe 7 hours?

I've now got the tumble dryer on and can charge my phone. May go to get some seafood soon.

managedmis · 19/08/2020 16:24

One of my cats had 4 teeth out today.

peaceanddove · 19/08/2020 16:43

I am putting together a Pinterest board of suitable outfits for a few days away in The Lakes with DH. Not as easy as it sounds as having to factor in lots of variables + I only do very minimalist packing anyway.

oomymoomy · 19/08/2020 16:49

I changed our toothbrush heads. Well overdue.

DS11 ("I hate art") is drawing. Granted, it's to avoid any other kind of work (high school transition prep stuff), but still.

Nestofvipers · 19/08/2020 16:54

@ MojoJojo71 freestanding unless you’re planning to regularly use the bath to shower too. If it’s regularly going to be used for showering then definitely go for L shaped.

Nestofvipers · 19/08/2020 16:55

Above is to @MojoJojo71

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 19/08/2020 16:59

After OP’s comment about the cherry/apple tree situation I spoke to DH again, we’ve decided to stick with the cherry tree.

I have a hybrid of Roman and African ties.

Morrison’s have substituted my box of 8 milk chocolate choc-ices for 3 white chocolate own version of Magnums - I’m going to reject the substitution.

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 19/08/2020 16:59

Ugh toes!

iklboo · 19/08/2020 17:02

I have Greek toes apparently. I suppose it explains my love for gyros & ouzo.

longtimemarried · 19/08/2020 17:10

I found some vintage knitting patterns in a charity shop today - feeling very happy.

MojoJojo71 · 19/08/2020 17:22

@Nestofvipers it’ll be used to shower most days so I was either going Lshaped or thIs type of ‘freestanding’ that has a shower screen.

What if really love is a proper freestanding bath and a separate shower but I just don’t think I have the room

Serena1977 · 19/08/2020 17:25

I have started Christmas shopping

I need to change the beds.

Ninkanink · 19/08/2020 18:24

I’ve hoovered the downstairs floors.

Gratin is done.

I’m about to pour myself a glass of wine.

I have a cross stitch somewhere waiting to be started. I might dig it out tonight or tomorrow.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 19/08/2020 18:31

DP and I are home from work. I have been assessing colleagues on their nursing competencies all day. We are to have sausages and chips for tea. The cat purred like a teakettle when we came in. I’m going to have wine, chocolate and a bath later. I’ve commenced the wine part already.

forgetthehousework · 19/08/2020 19:08

I got my fountain pen from Rymans, they sell the cartridges too but when I ask for ink cartridges they always direct me to the computer section! My best fountain pen is a Parker, which uses a different size cartridge.

My new net curtains look lovely.

I think I have Roman toes but after a quick look all I can be really sure of is that the nails need cutting.

Mrsjayy · 19/08/2020 19:16

I had A katsu curry for tea very nice it was too blue dragon not made from scratch but still.
