It’s a parking one!

Get on fine with house next door. Kids play etc.

About a year ago, her sister started coming to visit every single day. Weekends too. Fine. None of my business.

So we both have double drives and both have two cars. DH also has a motorbike but there’s space to keep it on our drive.

I work from home so I’m out to drop the dc to school then pretty much back for the whole morning. DH is gone in his car from maybe 7am. Motorbike stays on drive until weekends really.

So next door’s sister has a big 7-seater. But she’s taken to partially blocking our drive with it so next door’s car can get in and out.

So she parks up in the morning, partially blocks my drive. And then sometimes they’ll head out in next door’s car and my drive will be blocked.

I can (with ball-achey manoeuvring) get my car on. But if anyone was to visit, or DH was to come home, they couldn’t park on the drive. And they can’t park in front of my house without then blocking other next door’s.

It gives me the fucking rage! It’s so inconsiderate! I’ve said it to next door’s and her answer has been to knock in if I ever need her to move.

DH is so laid back he’s horizontal so he doesn’t see it as a big deal. But it’s just so selfish and irritating.

I’ve come back and parked up right behind her, as in touching the bumper, so I haven’t blocked other next door’s.

WIBU to roll the motorbike out and block her car?? If I put it sideways it won’t block the drive I don’t think.

I hope I’m explaining properly. I need to try to figure out how to post a diagram!

Maybe, Bull's hooves magically appear when she leaves the car and so is avoiding the painful transition as much as possible.....

We have bin wars with our next soon neighbour (well in my head it’s a bin war, he is probably just a selfish arse who doesn’t even realise there is an issue, but to me it’s a war)
but unfortunately for me my DP is too laid back to care and won’t let me do an of the petty things I want to do, using the argument of ruining neighbourly relations as an excuse, the only thing he will let me do is hide the bins in certain times of the year.
I even made signs once, I laminated them and everything and the kill joy snuck out and took them down when I was in the shower. 🤨

Might I suggest a Garda Olaf? It can be a small one but you’ll know it’s there.

I’m already considering it, I might have to go out and have a look at where I could position him.

NDN definitely needs some kind of guidance as 1, he doesn’t seem to understand how to throw things away properly and 2, how to share bins or bin space, despite many, many conversations over the years.
But for all my issues I’d probably need about 5 Olaf’s each with their own sign.

DP is generally pretty great so I have to let him slide on this one personality flaw.

My DH used to hold me back with the nightmare neighbours, not wanting to 'cause trouble' or 'upset things' - until NNs crossed a line one day & DH declared they were dead to him & he 'wouldn't cross the road to p*ss on them if they were on fire'. And he never went back on it.

He's a sweetie, he only said it to me & not them. You have really try, to get that response from my DH & trust me, the NNs were dedicated.

Have been invited to an impromptu lunch by school mum friend. Am quite literally dining out on this story which honestly makes the whole thing worth it.

She declined my offer of a penis cucumber salad. There’s no accounting for taste, I suppose.

All quiet on the war front. However, I have still promoted Sgt Olaf and have sent Garda Rex on patrol with him. Because I’m really immature and do know better but don’t really care.

I would like to thank you all effusively for standing by me during my darkest hours.

And I would like to think that whenever a cry for help goes up across the lands, Sgt Olaf and his loyal sidekick will be there to fight crime and restore order and peace to all.

*must clean wheelie bin. Have never really looked so closely at the back. Kind of mortified but sure what can I do at this stage?! Fort has become sadly dilapidated and has turned into a sodden cardboard mess which I now get to scrape up.
