Oh Wiggins, oh Bradley
I love you quite madley
You look tres sexee
In the yellow jersey
Vous etes tres bon
Avant le peloton
With your mates Cav and Froome
To Paris you'll zoom
Do your side burns help you steer?
When you win I will shed a tear.

Brailsford for PM Wink Torch

LostInWales · 04/08/2012 18:33

Not to be left out here is my photo of Our Brad from the tour of Britain in 2010. You'll just have to take my word for it but he's the team sky (green rainforest rescue kit) rider on the far right. Probably.

evilgiraffe · 04/08/2012 18:55

Wooo, Brailsford for PM! There's a man who knows how to plan!

Women's team pursuit was if anything even more exciting than the men's - electrifying stuff, my throat is still sore from shouting at the telly...

Minimammoth · 04/08/2012 19:02

Can't do any worse than the present incumbent in my opinion but don't get me started.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 04/08/2012 19:25

LostInWales - love the pic. The sideys give him away.

More random wiggo pics please...

I like to think the Sky team / GB cycling team sing the theme from Wonder pets as they cycle along 'Whats going to work....Team Work...etc.'

OP posts:
evilgiraffe · 04/08/2012 20:13

Photos, you say? Well, I haven't got any of my own, but a brief search gives these little gems...

Brad doesn't really take anything seriously when he's not on a bike
This place has the right idea.
He really doesn't like the prawn sandwich fest does he?
Our Heroes.

Itsgottabebags · 04/08/2012 20:22

Bradley with your natty side burns,
Navigated on your bike the twists and turns,
You rode with speed,
A Uk hero indeed,
You deserve your gold medal,
For powering the pedal,
Congrats to you,
You're so very cool.

frostyfingers · 04/08/2012 20:45

I am gripped by the cycling - did you see that elimination race from the Omnium? Twas fab! They are all doing a fantastic job, although I felt for Cav sitting next to Geraint wearing his gold medal - it must feel like everyone but him has one. He's still my hero though, and it's nice to hear from him and see his lovely sparkling eyes and cheeky smile. Quite what I'm going to watch when it finishes I don't know.

evilgiraffe · 04/08/2012 21:01

He was laughing when Jake said they could have photos with Geraint's medal, though - he may be hurting a little but it doesn't look like he's letting it make him dead inside. I've been loving getting to fangirl over him on the telly, he's so much fun and gorgeous and unbelievably talented

Watching athletics now though, COME ON JESS ENNIS!

evilgiraffe · 04/08/2012 21:06

And Jake and the BBC ticker thing kept introducing Cav as "world road race champion" so it may have helped prevent his ego being too bruised :)

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 04/08/2012 22:19

Have just finished watching athletics - We Are Brilliant! Thank you Brad for starting it all off with Tour de France win and Time Trial Gold (and them rowing ladies who got one on Wednesday too) and letting us believe, as a nation, that we can win stuff. I am on a real high now (and have been since day before end of TDF)!

Lovely verse Itsgottabebags, glad someone can still come up with a poem.

Evil - great pics. I want to link to the one where Wiggo is looking incredulously as Leslie Garrett belts out the national anthem opera style. V amusing.

evilgiraffe · 04/08/2012 22:46

Yes, HalfMum, we can owe all the TeamGB success to Wiggo, because he started it all in the Tour Grin

The athletics has been astonishing, I was in tears watching Jessica Ennis and then again and shaking too for Mo Farah. And then again for the crowd singing the national anthem for Ennis loud enough to take the sides of the stadium off!

evilgiraffe · 04/08/2012 22:49

This pic, HalfMum?

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 04/08/2012 22:50

evil - have also shed a tear a couple of times today. Womens cyclists team, Ennis, national anthem, the news etc. etc. Even DH looks a bit moist of eye.

OP posts:
HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 04/08/2012 22:52

ha ha evil love it!

OP posts:
HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 04/08/2012 22:52

Still laughing at that pic. Nearly as funny as his press conference after the TT.

OP posts:
evilgiraffe · 04/08/2012 22:56

Which press conference? I may not have seen it...

Must go to bed now, even though all this excitement may preclude sleeping for some time!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 04/08/2012 23:06

Was press conference straight after Olympic TT. He swore about 10 times and discussed his stolen wash kit having 'skidders' in it. It was broadcast on Sky and they had to apologise afterwards. Tres amusant.

OP posts:
HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 04/08/2012 23:12

not wash kit, training kit dur

OP posts:
evilgiraffe · 05/08/2012 08:51

Oh, you're kidding? I shall have to see if I can find it on youtube... Grin

SeashellsAllezModInYellowAllez · 05/08/2012 09:05

If you do can you link it? I've only seen edited versions and aI love a good Wiggins irreverent press conference! (see links I posted above for comedy gold)

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 05/08/2012 18:49

evil - I have it saved on sky+, its almost worth getting a train up here to watch it. He is drinking V+T and uses at least 5 different swear words. Classic.

Seashells - loved your previous clips

Goes to hunt for press conference...

OP posts:
HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 05/08/2012 18:57

Found it but it doesn't include the bit about the kit. I will hunt that bit out. He is such a star. 'I don't belive in celebrity, other things are far more important.' here

OP posts:
HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 05/08/2012 19:33

Found the bit about the missing kit..
