Morning girls.

Rofl at the goings on here. Trips, just do it already!

Fab news for estar Grin

I am soooo tired.thankfully dh has the day off, so he's taken the kids to school, while I lounge on the sofa. With this stinking cold and the lack of sleep over the past week I am wiped out. We got a night flight home. Being business class, we did have lovely flat beds to sleep, but they woke us up at 2.30 Chicago time for breakfast, so only got about 4 hours and on arrival had to drive to Norfolk to pick up the kids. So I'm still a bit jet lagged!

Gonns slob out and watch the bowl again! We had pretty high up seats, so need to see the details properly Grin the huge stack of post and laundry can wait! Though have the dreaded DLA renewal forms to work through tomorrow.

I've not ranged anything for half term yet. I normally take up anything and everything tht is cheap or free to keep them busy! I do still have a farm pass somewhere that I won...Grin

bubby64 · 08/02/2012 19:52

Thanks girlies, Trips, luckily I dont usually get cold sores, just a very sore nose. I have to watch it tho, as if I'm not careful, colds turn in chest infections, I've upped my inhalers already, just in case.
Battling with J over bloody math homework, he lied yet again and said he had done it over the weekend, and is now in a panic to get it done, he also swears that they have not learned it in class, then M pipes up and says "we went over it last week, but you were messing around!" Brotherly love at its best, ehWink

Not me Miss Rubester!!

Tom showed me a FB conversation last night with two lads in his year. One threatened the other that today he was taking a knife into school and was going to stab him....after he had 'banged him out innit!!!' Moron!. Tom was watching the conversation but not commenting. I ended up last night convincing myself that it would happen but that Tom would end up being stabbed I made a note of the names (have full access to Toms FB account - that is one of the terms and conditions of him having an account) and rang school.

Got through to one of the Year 10 team. Explained to him what I had read and my fears. He said I wasn't the first to ring this morning and that it was being dealt with. He also said he wished that Facebook would be banned worldwide. It causes so many problems in school.

Even though he has said all that I am still worrying!! Tom said 'Mam I wont get involved at all BUT if one of them come near me and threaten me I WILL sort them out!!' Oh Christ on a bike there are times when I dont like having teenagers.

At work, sniffing, eyes watering nose running, sneezing and coughing - good look for the works "nurse", don't you think?
Shabs- good for you, but your Tom seems like the sensible type. I was talking about facebook the otherday with some teachers, one said she hated it as her girls (12+15)could never get away from it. Gone are the days when any little rift in school friendships mainly stayed at school, now she says that as her girls have mobiles, laptops and ipods, they are forever bleeping with updates whenever they are switched on, doing course work, watching a film, listening to music, whatever, so the backbiting, bitching and general comments that all seem part of early teenage girls lives are no longer confined as they used to be to school and the occasional telephone call, but are constant. She tells her girls to turn them off, but they say they dare not in case someone gets upset that they are deliberatly ignoring them, which would lead to them being more of a target!

Afternoon.............having my 60 mins peace before the trio get back. Anybody watch that prog the other night on Teenagers with Gok Wan? Harry can`t stand the bloke but I found it very interesting, next week he is dealing with three cases of bullying. Cleaned my cooker this morning............ugh underneath the cooker hood Blush

Just staggered home..........book club meeting with wine tasting.....hic:o
Quite mild here really, though still everything covered in snow, pavements thick ice................yep roll on Spring........I dont do winter:o Came home to a very grumpy H, he went to the school meeting about GSE options, the FIRST time he has been to anything at that school in almost 3 years!! He was furious with Rebecca who apparently slid off to sit with her friend and her parents, he felt she was embarassed to be with him but shes the same with me. He said none of them took any notice what the head was saying, showed no interest, also said their reports were terrible, very disappointed with them. As he only just noticedHmm

Hopstheduck · 10/02/2012 08:09

i am soooo tired. I think i am still on US time. I can't sleep at night, but can't get up in the mornings neither. Loads of snow here today too, and I hate driving in snow but don't have the energy to walk. I want my bed!!!

Hopstheduck · 10/02/2012 08:10

Last one, wed, wasn't very good. dt2 is an insufferable self important know it all who is alienating all his friends! Really not sure how to change that one.

I never take Tom either Rubester. Every teacher who asks me where he is I say 'The slip I filled in says 'Parents Evening' - not a single mention of a child Grin

Hi Girlies- R and I try to take it in turns for parents evenings, but it usually works out I do 3 to his 1. It always says on ours "children are not expected to attend", but I suppose that will all change at High School.
Still full of cold, still at work, people avoiding me like Tyhoid Mary, lol, I am continually going round with hard surface wipes and hand santitiser.
Trips, what side was the Gok Wan programme on? I might try to catch it on line, I have also been following the BBC2 prog about social workers "Dammed if you do", very sad 1st week, much more encoraging this week, I have always felt they have a hard job, and this shows how carefully they have to tread.

triplets · 10/02/2012 13:39

Channel 4 Tues @8pm!
Dreading halfterm apart from staying in bed longer! They all seem to expect to be doing something all the time, cant do it. Had a call from Mac nurse y/day, the lung team from Kings are coming down on Mon to look at Hs scan, we phone on Tues to find out the result, Mac nurse suspects its another tumour...............off we go again.
