aww lovely to hear the good news about Beth.

I wish I had thought of personally handing it in, shabs! It's in an envelope sealed and sellotaped shut for ds1 to hand in. I did think of putting my phone number on but wasn't brave enough in the end!
I wrote a lovely one for the infant school, which I really do think is fantastic. They got rated outstanding and my comments were quoted on the summar. I dont think I will be quoted this time BlushGrin

Found you! Smile

I am still on a high from seeing Red Hot Chili Peppers in London on Monday (early xmas present from family). It was even lovelier to spend time with dh in dh mode rather than as daddy and to top it all off my brother and my best friend came along to the gig and there was dinner and cocktails involved Wink. Bliss.

I have another happy tale to share. On Friday dd1 left a bag on the bus, it contained astronaut food for her class to try as part of their school topic. DD1 went into school crying Sad. I went to the bus garage and spent a few hours tracking down driver and bus looking for it but had no luck. This morning before I got on the bus I was talking to a lady at the bus stop saying how when something is stolen you start to lose faith in people. I got on the bus, and within minutes a man came up with the missing bag, said he didn't want to risk someone stealing it so had kept it till he saw me Smile Smile Smile. Dd1 went into school like Grin.

Shabba - so glad to hear about Beth. Pixi- Welcome back, glad to hear you an dh had a good time seeing the Chili's, also got news about school bag. People do surprise you at times.
Laptop back, so just sitting here chillin today after spending hours yesterday trying to fnd affordable school coats for the boys, Local town Matalan, Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury all sold out of decent coats in their size yesterday, so had to go to next nearest town and finally found them in Tesco, but only after dealing with unhelpful Customer Services, and then finally a really lovely lady from the clothing department went out back to search and yippee! 2 coats in a style they will wear (a major plus), and at a price I could afford, she was still surprised though when I gave her a very grateful hug and kiss!Grin

Hops - When Osted came to the boys school this year, I was in there assisiting with reading (it should have been IT skills, but as I am not "officially" certificated to teach 7yr olds how to click and drag icons around a picture Confused i couldn't do it when inspectors there!) Anyway, I spoke to them directly about my praise and crititism about the school, so I knew i got my point across!!

Afternoon girls......having 5 mins on the bed, no tittering please I am quite alone!! Had a lovely morning at school with my little ones, they cheer me up no end, Monty kept hugging me nad saying he wuvved me:)
Major problem with our roof, all we need before Christmas, nasty black patch on the bedroom ceiling, H ben up into the loft and its soaking, broken roof tile. Being up there has prompted him again to want the loft cleared, it does need doing badly, but it has soooo much of Matthews things I can`t bear it. Will have to face it I know. Hi Pix, good to have you around:) Any muffin makers out there? Made some lemon and poppy seed ones y/day and they are dry as hell, what did I do wrong?

Trips, either too much flour or overlooking them, I'm afraid. My recipe for lemon and poppy seed uses equal flour to butter, and equal sugar. Plus lots of milk and ricotta cheese. The ricotta helps keep it moist.

I made Halloween cupcakes last week, black icing with little ghosts on top! Ate far too many of them too! Blush

Hopstheduck · 10/11/2011 09:14

overcooking damn iPad!

triplets · 10/11/2011 21:46

Ah ha..............will try again, my choc chip ones were excellent. Went Christmas shopping today in Canterbury, bought nothing!! H couldn`t believe it. I have never seen so much tat and over priced stuff in my life, Christmas needs a serious re-think!

I do pretty much all my non grocery shopping online. High street is just too expensive these days. I started in July I think, grabbing bargains when I get them, plus putting away prizes from my comping too. The kids are nearly done now.

Debenhams has some great bargains and there is usually discount codes around on top and free delivery codes. Ordered dt2 a transformer toy from there last night, I think 70% off. Got dd some board games from Argos 75% off and a gorgeous hat box full of bath things from Asos 90% off. Have bits from John Lewis too, they had big reductions during a summer sale. I never buy anything full price!

Off to the cat sanctuary tomorrow, dh out of the blue told the kids we can have another cat.................without asking meShock Not good timing as we are very hard up atm, Christmas coming etc. Of course the kids are over the moon............I do love cats (sorry Shabs) but have not missed the fleas, hair and vomit............
Talking of Christmas...........are any of you doing anything diff? I am soooo fed up of the same routine, I find it more and more stressful. Already suggested to H that we don`t have a trad turkey...........OMG you should have seen his face Shock :o love it :o

Yup was at Chellesters!! xx

Hopstheduck · 12/11/2011 10:32

Ive never done turkey, dh doesnt like ti at all, and i"m not overly keen. We usually do goose, which is dt2's favourite food. He adores it, and it a shame that he only gets it once a year! I did try giving him duck as a sunday roast and telling him it was goose, but he wasn't fooled!

This year tho, we are tempted by a haunch of venison with herbs, red wine and juniper berries. I've done that over xmas before too, but not for the actual xmas dinner before. Would probably then do goose for new years day instead.

DH is actually terrified of cats. One jumped out once at him and I'm sure he equalled Usain Bolts record for the 100m sprint! Grin I like them but I had one when dd was very small and it was a sod. Kept pooing and weeing everywhere and stealing food. Ate a whole jumbo sausage once on the sly. I was quite relieved when it ran off and didn't come back. Blush

Trills · 12/11/2011 10:42

d'y ever read a thread title and think "that looks interesting" only to realise it's one of the "d'y ever..." threads and not really about the title? :)

(I have posted this before I think)

Your titles are too good - it must stop immediately! :o

Hopstheduck · 12/11/2011 10:50
