UC disabled child backdate

A few people are waiting for the uc backdate for the disabled child element. So thought I'd make a thread about it instead of doing it on the dla thread lol x

I didn't realise that uc was also backdated if you're entitled to mrc/hrc - thank you for posting about it.
I applied for dla for the first time on 11th July, hoping to hear soon, the waiting is so frustrating!

Well I've just gotten off the phone to carers, to see if it can he reinstated. Apparently it's with a decision maker now, so hopefully not much longer to wait for that x

Glad you made this thread was scrolling for daaays in the other to see if anyone heard from UC yet.
i updated 26th September and not heard anything yet. I put a note on the journal on Monday but nobody’s replied.
the £150 cost of living payment will we receive that a decision was made 23rd September from scan date 21st June. I was reading you have to have had a payment from UC in may or something. It’s all very confusing!

Carers allowance is deducted £ from £ from UC. You will receive the carers element added to your UC but your award will be reduced by whatever amount you receive in CA.

It is worth claiming carers allowance because it is paid weekly and gives you NI contributions.

If you are in Scotland youwill also get carers allowance supplement if you claim carers allowance of around £10 a week. It is paid twice yearly in two lump sums and is in addition to UC payments.
