@Lilifer

Could someone point me to an easy way to learn about spreadsheets? You all seem to use them here and I don't think I've ever used one in my previous jobs, and SAHM mum now since the dawn of time so need to get that skill under my belt ..
This will sound stupid but once you've had a look at a YouTube or similar I'd just get it open and set yourself a pretend task on it, for example make a shopping list (to practice entering text and making it look how you want) and then adding the price of each thing (data entry) and seeing if you can get it to total up at the bottom (data analysis). If you remember that if you want it to do a sum for you, if you click on a cell (square) and type in = you can then click on another cell, type in the + or - or what have you and then another cell, then press enter, it will do the sum for you.

It's infuriating to use when you start but honestly if you can try to make something 'real' without the pressure of it having to work quickly you can tinker about and learn how stuff works without fear of breaking anything 🙂 I think excel is the best Microsoft programme by far once you've learned to love it!

Lilifer · 17/02/2022 11:24

@8dpwoah that's great thanks so much 😊

Does anyone work for Telus? I'm wondering how much the bank charges will be when I get paid?
I'm finding the work is getting easier but I've been disqualified from a couple of tasks because I really don't understand the guidelines. I mostly do 'Result Satisfaction ' tasks now

whysotriggered · 19/02/2022 11:11

Did Telus the same as Lionbridge?

Tinging · 19/02/2022 13:04

@LemonJelly76 I think each bank charges a different amount, mine take £6 each time I get paid by Telus no matter the size of the payment. It used to show as a separate charge but now my payment amount is just down £6, not sure why. I think it’s classed as money received internationally even though it’s paid in sterling so you may find a set charge on your bank website.
Don’t worry too much about disqualifications, I’ve got 13 and have only been asked to take a refresher test to requalify for one.

Tinging · 19/02/2022 13:06

@whysotriggered yes Telus is the new name, there was a takeover last year.

JLbaby · 21/02/2022 07:59

@animalcrossingfan2021 did you receive your Chip reward? I haven’t got mine yet…hopefully today!

@JLbaby no not yet but it does show I have had the account for 30 days. I read somewhere that the bonus is received the day after the 30 days, so like you say hopefully tomorrow 🤞🏻

LemonJelly76 · 21/02/2022 16:35

@whysotriggered

Did Telus the same as Lionbridge?
Yeah I believe so

LemonJelly76 · 21/02/2022 16:53

Just looking now and it seems I may not be able to receive international payments into my monzo account. Sorry for all the questions but do you happen to know what currency they pay in?

Madmoose · 21/02/2022 17:16

Sorry for appearing rather thick, but I haven’t a clue what these posts are about! Sounds interesting though, could you give more info please.

Hi @Madmoose there's so much on here that your best bet is to have a look through the links on the first post and see if anything takes your fancy or something you'd like to know more about in particular.

Although saying that there is a lot there to get through, what sort of skills have you got, what amount of extra work are you looking to do? That way we might be ablw to point you to specific links to start with (I knew I was reasonably good at English, listening and typing so I started out by exploring the transcription companies for example). I'd maybe start with Appen purely because the Facebook surveys although they don't pay much they are straightforward and a good way to see how the whole thing works as a starting point. I'm 12 months in and if I'm honest have got too much work for the time I've got around my two small kids and it's all from suggestions on these threads ♥️

CocoPrivileges · 22/02/2022 11:50

Anyone else doing the qualification quiz for a transcription task called Off* on Ap?

Buster27 · 22/02/2022 13:28

@CocoPrivileges I've done the qualification quiz but haven't been invited to do any actual work yet.

CocoPrivileges · 22/02/2022 14:00

@Buster27 Same! I've not had a decent project in a while so fingers crossed this will yield some work.

Marckusha · 22/02/2022 17:24

Thank you for the information.

@JLbaby got my £20 today hope you received your too 😀

JLbaby · 22/02/2022 19:58

@animalcrossingfan2021 I did too thank you! 😊

MarigoldMoonStone · 23/02/2022 07:51

Has anyone done the qualification for Sto**al on Appen? I can't see the guidelines?
My project tab is blank on Appen today :(
Desperate for a decent project at the moment

TheresALight · 23/02/2022 12:30

@MarigoldMoonStone I was just coming on to ask the same question. I've sent a ticket so hopefully they'll reply along. I haven't had chance luck with the categorisation style tasks in the past though

LostLlamaSociety · 23/02/2022 15:11

I'm having quite a bit of luck with Swagbucks at the moment. I've been following a thread on Reddit about which offers are worth doing and it seems to be paying off - £35 so far this month by playing games through the discover section.

I'm sure everyone has already joined but if not here is my link (alternatively google Swagbucks)

www.swagbucks.com/p/register?rb=4215869

MarigoldMoonStone · 23/02/2022 18:59

@TheresALight ah okay it's not just me being daft then! Will send them a ticket also, thanks :)

PigeonPigPie · 24/02/2022 12:16

Found out yesterday that you can apply to have SFE overpayments refunded (where you haven't met the threshold over the year for repayments). You can message them on 'SFE repayments' page on facebook. I've got £250 refund coming after exchanging three messages! Grin

anxiouswaiting · 24/02/2022 17:13

Well against my better judgement I gave the st*co** exam a go today. It was of course a waste of time reading loads of pages which didn't give much clarity on anything and then a failed exam.
Think I will only attempt ones which seem really easy in future. I really need to find something else, Appen has just been failed exam after failed exam for me lately.
