@Redcrayons I did a bit of Rev but I massively cocked up a file by not reading their guidelines and messed up my metrics. I was looking for files to rebuild it but haven't really had (enough peace and quiet) time yet. I do like the fact you're correcting a file rather than going completely from scratch but I did find a lot of the files really hard to hear, the quality was pretty bad plus them mostly being USA made it quite tricky. I wouldn't rule out working in their stuff again, it's just not my first choice when I've got an hour or two to myself to work.

AppleJane · 09/02/2022 17:49

@8dpwoah the transcription companies all having different style guides does make it tricky trying to work for more than one at once.

I'm just trying to compile a spreadsheet where I can highlight any major differences between them but I'll probably put in all that effort and still bugger up my metrics Grin

AncientWhitedogpoop · 09/02/2022 18:13

Anyone got that N33vo task? I don't even understand the instructions! Been waiting ages for some tasks as well.

8dpwoah · 09/02/2022 18:26

@AppleJane it was totally and utterly my fault, I didn't realise they did dictation files and of course that has its own rules. Felt a right plonker when I realised!

Sheffie83 · 09/02/2022 18:37

Hi all, I have signed up to Appen but it just takes me to a blank page when I log in. Has this happened to anyone else?x

AppleJane · 09/02/2022 19:09

@8dpwoah that's a shame, especially all the unpaid hard work you have to put in to get these gigs!

@Sheffie83 have you tried using a different browser? Are you on the right Appen website?

AppleJane · 09/02/2022 19:10

The right one is Appen Connect.

AnotherOne4 · 09/02/2022 19:39

I got them. Got all excited when I saw the emails. Read the first page of instructions and thought Confused Didn't even try to qualify.
Jambalaya76 · 09/02/2022 19:40

I've just applied for Appen. Their website is a bit privative. It almost felt dodgy handing over my details

Jambalaya76 · 09/02/2022 19:43

@Sheffie83 same for me too

AncientWhitedogpoop · 09/02/2022 20:19

@AnotherOne4 I know I'm not a genius but I like to think I can follow fairly complicated instructions - just as a I do in my day job - but I cannot understand what they actually want people to do! Confused It's like they wrote instructions without writing what the purpose of the task is and what they need us to answer. Like "chose the relative terms" or whatever.
I never normally get invites for tasks with codes so I wonder if they sent it in error? Grin

Hey, just joined this thread. I’m doing everything I can to make a bit of extra cash right now alongside my job to fund my house refurb and add to the savings pot.

I work full time, run my business on the side, write as much as I can, and have signed up to QMee and TakePartInResearch. I’m also selling everything that I think would fetch something.

I’m quite liking QMee as they let you cash out your earnings whenever you want.

Today I’ve earned £3.59 through QMee, applied for four paid online focus groups, pitched an article to a website and sold some eBay stuff.

kpfragglesrock · 09/02/2022 22:31

I screwed up on Rev too. Completely my fault for not reading the probation expectations and I worked on a file that was too long so didn't meet the expected metrics. I did like the correcting aspect rather than typing from scratch.
I was accepted onto WWW but it was taking me too long to transcribe from scratch so I resigned.

Do any of the other transcription companies ask you to correct rather than type from scratch?

Sheffie83 · 10/02/2022 13:30

@AppleJane

The right one is Appen Connect.
Ah ok, I shall check tonight but I followed the link in the OP. I was trying to do it on my phone and on my Mac. Thank you
AppleJane · 10/02/2022 15:28

Prolific is on fire today for me.

evtheria · 10/02/2022 19:14

@AppleJane I’ve had zilch off there this week! Did only start recently, does one get offered more the more they do?

Potatoes invoice through today!

mydogisthebest · 10/02/2022 19:28

@AppleJane

Prolific is on fire today for me.
Monday was good for me. Did one survey that paid me £26 and another 5 surveys that paid just over £6 in total
AppleJane · 10/02/2022 20:28

@evtheria you do tend to get a lot when you first sign up. I check my profile questions every day as they often add new ones. I also do all mine on a laptop. Lots of the studies don't like mobiles for some reason.

ruralwanderer · 11/02/2022 07:26

@mydogisthebest, that's amazing, well done you! How long did the £26 one take?

Redcrayons · 11/02/2022 08:15

Wow £26 that must be a record. I think £6 might have been my best.

mydogisthebest · 11/02/2022 08:47
@mydogisthebest, that's amazing, well done you! How long did the £26 one take?
It took about 3 hours and was really boring but you could do it in parts, which I did, over 2 days.

AppleJane · 11/02/2022 11:34

@Redcrayons

Wow £26 that must be a record. I think £6 might have been my best.

Looking at my spreadsheet, my best was £18 for less than an hour. It was £6 with a £12 bonus if you were correct when they randomly chose one of your answers (guess they really wanted you to concentrate) 😂

Just done one with a £5 bonus. I love the bonuses!!

AppleJane · 11/02/2022 11:38

What I also like about Prolific is that if all the participants take a lot longer to complete the study than they stated they sometimes send an additional payment to make up for it!

LemonJelly76 · 11/02/2022 11:39

Hi all
I did two Appen projects and all fine, auto invoice and paid (can't withdraw as under minimum but that's ok)
But I'm having issues with some stuff like the news surveys, I've signed up but when I go into 'tasks' on the app it just says no tasks yet?

Also signed up to loads and loads of projects but apart from the emails to say I've registered I've not been given any work... assuming this is normal and I'll find out if I've been picked?

animalcrossingfan2021 · 12/02/2022 13:05

Did anyone who did the Tide offer receive government letters about the company you chose as your business account?
