Just to update u all call concentrix today for the first time since they received my evidence no change to my award letter sent out yesterday.

usernamesandgingerbreads · 29/12/2015 19:31

Hi there,
Has anyone self employed successfully proved their 30 hours? I have been told I will need to prove I am a viable business. That is not a problem as I have masses of advertisement, flyers etc but I need to write how I work my thirty hours.

Kelsingra · 30/12/2015 00:12

Hello, I received my letter about having to prove hours, invoices etc from HMRC this morning. I'm not sure how I can do this. I used to keep manual diaries, but bin them when I got a new one (I'd never been asked for them before) then I kept them electronically in my phone calendar. I can't provide invoices because I do nails, I don't give clients invoices.

I'm already having problems with concentrix as my boyfriend put money into my account to pay for a holiday he took us on (he lives/works out of the country so has his post directed to me rather than his parents because they're too old to deal with it) YES I'm well aware how dodgy it looks from an outside point of view, but naively didn't think it would be a problem as I've always explained things to HMRC when I phoned my renewal. They said it was fine, now I'm being to's not.

JBEM4 · 30/12/2015 08:58

That's great news mmblue - hoping I get the same result when I call them 😕

Hawaiiturtle101 · 30/12/2015 11:10

Can you just do some invoices as if you had invoiced them using your records?

camperlove · 30/12/2015 14:28

they haven't asked me yet for those details but I would have a problem no doubt if they did as I mostly dump the records of any work I do, extra from the normal, once I have done it. I used to keep a note book, years ago, and once most of the work was crossed out I would tear the page out and redo a new page. Now I keep what extra work needs doing on word, and once done, I just erase it. much easier.

I think my biggest, huge problem is that my kids use me as a bank. especially my son who cant keep control of his money. most transactions will not tie up. ie this month I transferred £10 to his account, another £10 as thought first didn't go through, then £60 for his rent, then £50 for his train fare home. When at home, he borrowed £40 cash and £80 xmas eve. So when he transfers back into my account next week, the two amounts wont tie up, as it will show an extra £120 transferred into my account, than what went out. Now this is not a one off...........this is a weekly and monthly situation. The girls are not too bad, and seldom borrow cash. But I do know I do things like use my c/c for a monthly train ticket £530, then she pays me back weekly. but with 3 kids toing and frowing..........its a nightmare.

usernamesandgingerbreads · 30/12/2015 15:01

Don't most parents do that though. I transfered three lots of money to my dc account for the same sort of thing. It I a bit crazy really. Its nothing to do with them what you spend.

camperlove · 30/12/2015 16:09

well I would think it normal, but not sure concentrix would though. do you know whether or not they would count this as income? the thing is all the kids net more than me. I don't mind collecting them from the station or driving them to drs but I do need my petrol paid for, else I wouldn't have enough petrol for myself. and I don't mind using my credit card for this and that but they must pay it off. anyone know if concentrix disreguard childrens transactions? Ive called a family meeting that they sit here each and every weekend until two years bank statements of their transactions are sorted. however son works 10 hours away, daughter works every week end except for 1 in 6 weeks, other daughter works every sun. I mean there is just sooooooooooo many transaction to and from son. when he is overdrawn he banks his whole check in my account. I take my money out and pay him cash, or transfer small amounts into his friends account. when he sends me his tax money, I pay it in for him, but if he owes me for his accountant or something I don't trf the exact amount. this all needs to be tied up, so I would like to know if im panicing about nothing.

JBEM4 · 30/12/2015 17:11

My advice is to call concentrix and make sure it's all noted down - they did this for me. As long as all bills are in your name I don't see how random transactions on your bank account prove you're in a relationship but unfortunately it's all down to how concentrix interpret that information. I'm still waiting since this all started back in October - apparently the latest info I sent them has been sent to the decision makers today so should hear in the next week or so if they're amending my claim. My little girl also starts playgroup/nursery in 3 weeks so will need to amend my childcare costs ..... If they stop my payments I won't be able to afford it 😢😢

mmblue1904 · 30/12/2015 18:53

Thanks JBEM4 not sure how young Ave kept sane for so long. I'm just glad it has been sorted hope you get yours sorted soon to.

camperlove · 30/12/2015 18:57

all bills are in my name, they are part of my business overheads, so I wouldn't be putting them in anothers name. as I am boyfriendless, and dateless long term I don't worry about them proving im in a relationship. they cant prove something which isn't happening. I just cant find out if kids transactions count as income. it isn't random. the girls maybe borrow 3 x a year ..they are easy to tie up ..my son about 3 times a week, but due to cash borrowing when home, what he puts into my bank account will not tie up with what goes out of my account to his.

Croy1985 · 30/12/2015 19:49

A1b2 I've not been on in a while, but I'm so glad urs was sorted, just in time for Xmas too xx

Kelsingra · 30/12/2015 19:51

I certainly hope they disregard any payments which are paid into kids accounts. I'm more worried about money my boyfriend (yes I've had him for ages, but no he can't move in as he and my girls don't see eye to eye) paid into my account to cover holidays or going to visit him while he's overseas. Things I wouldn't otherwise do because I couldn't afford it. Though all the bills are in my name they seem to think it indicates that he lives here

JBEM4 · 30/12/2015 20:18

All I can suggest camper is you highlight as many payments to your kids as possible and explain the payments coming in are to cover their expenses (if it goes in then it must have come out of somewhere or gets paid back out) ...

Kelsingra - as long as your boyfriend has no financial links to your address then I'd hope it's up to them to prove he lives with you. I still don't see how payments going in and out of bank accounts prove an individual lives with you 😕

Hawaiiturtle101 · 30/12/2015 21:50

I had payments into my account in my mums name and kids father. .lots of transactions. They never questioned them. All bills in my name and I didn't explain anything in writing as they didn't ask. Don't send too much info. ..I'm also self employed and they never asked if any of the transactions into my account where work related. I don't think they are looking for that. Send them only what they ask for.

camperlove · 30/12/2015 23:42

exactly what I was trying to say........the money went out of my account to the kids...under headings like, fags, booze, rent, train fare, mobile bill, b and b exps etc..those headings were to my son. but the money he transferred back came in as headings like, expenses all up to date with no money owed, no more money owing, part bill owing, tax money, repayment of loan.....but due to the smallish amounts of cash he borrows on a regular basis when at home, his input into my account will be higher than my output into his account. im worried concentrix will say he has given me extra money to live on which I have not declared. that extra difference is usually petrol money I need to charge him to collect him from a distance from home, booze money to see his friends when home, take aways and fag money, then an extra £10 or £20 pounds when I drop him off at station to go back to work for that nights food money, and breakfast money and b and b. its not that im trying to be stingy. all my kids net and gross more than me. There is a difference in what goes into his account, and what he trfs back to mine.

Morgani97 · 01/01/2016 00:44

Happy new year everyone, hope you all get good news soon x

AngryBird2015 · 01/01/2016 11:16

Well I received all my documents back yesterday after sending them on the 1st Dec. A letter just stated they will write to me soon. Anyone know how long it takes from here?

JBEM4 · 01/01/2016 11:46

Mine has been ongoing since the beginning of November although some are done within 2 weeks ....

camperlove · 01/01/2016 20:24

hope everyone had a happy new year.

I am posting this to give everyone hope, and to highlight , it just may be that you don't have to comply with concentrix. it might all still turn pear shape, as its early days. I am also asking someone on here, you are all younger than me, and computer, social media savy, to do an online partition, to make concentrix transparent, and work within the law..... I believe they are not. I will highlight later on.

I firstly joined mumsnet for information about what would happen to me as I did not comply with concentrix. jail, having to pay all money back, having to pay years back, investigation by tax man , what???? no one has answered my question. So I can only assume everyone has did what they were asked to do by concentrix.

I did not find this site, or others, until after I sent the letter to concentrix and my mp stating why I would not comply. Now that I have found this site, I feel even more sure I did the correct thing ......because I have from this site found out that persons information is being scanned into a computer. after talk talk, child benefit, nhs, and tax sites being hacked, im absolutely sure I did the correct thing, also I found from this site, and others, that persons not receiving their paperwork back, or worse, receiving other persons information by post.

My money for December has been paid into my bank account even though I did not comply. who knows what jan will bring.? My deadline was 16th dec, money went in at end of month.

I don't know if this is because I argued each point logically, or quoted a tribuneral case ..... or what. But I am telling all of you ... WHATEVER POINTS OF CONCERN I RAISED, I wouldn't comply had I known my info was being scanned into a computer, never mind by complete strangers.

I feel my reasons for refusing were based on logic and law. (without knowing about the scanning issue).

The reason I would like one of you youngsters to do a pertition is because
............a tribuneral has already ruled you don't have to prove anything...they have to prove otherwise. I have also learned that you do not have to provide your bank records, even the tax man is not allowed to request this when you are under investigation. also, I don't believe anywhere in concentrix paperwork, they state your info will be scanned onto a computer???????? This scares me to death. Why would anyone want to scan my details onto a computer???????????? look at my paperwork yes, I can understand, but scan it???????????

now my situation is a bit different from you younger ones. I don't have a boyfriend sleeping over,...or putting money into my account, simply being not only do I not have one, I am also dateless, and sexless. but the law says, you don't have to prove anything....they have to. so I quoted the tribuneral case...... telling them to prove it.

any one of youngsters able to do a change it dot org ...? if you shy, you can do it under my name....its just that im not computer literate, and my facebook page is empty of friends, as I don't know how to use facebook other than my kids opened it for me to play scrabble on line. have heard of twitter, etc, but what would I be doing with such sites at my age???

Hawaiiturtle101 · 02/01/2016 12:59
