Nikkileigh,I had the same letter,I was in a house share I had a mandetory reconsideration which was useless then I appealed and it was overturned,I wrote to them every week, rang then twice a week they're an absolute joke. By sending everything they ask for you are proving you're single. You don't need to mention your ex unless they ask which they probably will. Just tell them you don't know where he's living as I imagine that changes from week to week or day to day as from what you've said he's basically homeless but that's nothing to do with you. Don't give up,I've been where you are now. Go back to your mp and don't leave until you get them to do something, they have to help you x x

Luckymum82 · 17/12/2015 00:20

Does anyone ever have straightforward dealings with them at all?? My money has gone in for a 2nd week after the deadline but I'm worried how much longer it will be before they stop it. I'm due to return to work in 4 weeks and will need to start claiming childcare again but not sure how that will work if my claim is still be looked at. And what happens if they don't accept your evidence? Do you just get nothing at all? This is stressing me out so much!

Morgani97 · 17/12/2015 07:44

Luckymum,if your evidence isn't enough they will tell you and may ask for more,if you've sent all they've asked for there shouldn't be a problem. If they do stop your claim you need to do a mandetory reconsideration x

Hawaiiturtle101 · 17/12/2015 09:21

Mine was very straightforward. The usual letter claiming someone is linked but no name attached. I never contacted them just sent then exactly what they asked nothing more. I wiped out all account numbers on my statements and numbers off mobile phone bills. All bills are in my name and I don't claim single person discount on my council tax as I like to pay it all. I have regular transactions into my account from the Dad and my parents who help me out sometimes. I didn't explain anything. .just sent it in a few days before my deadline. I got my documents back om my deadline day then 21 days later got the letter to say everything was OK. I dont believe there was a name attached to my house. .I think there are general letters sent out to catch the frauds but not aimed specifically at people. They should ask for this info at renewal time rather than in year.

Luckymum82 · 17/12/2015 09:46

Mine was straightforward the last time but it wasn't concentrix that dealt with it. It was another company (can't remember the name now) I sent all the info with a cover letter explaining bank transactions that I thought they might query. It's just annoying that all these different companies don't share the same information as it was only May this year that i sent in my information which they accepted and then got another letter 6 months later asking for pretty much the exact same documents.

AmazingDisgrace · 17/12/2015 14:57

How on earth do they know what post arrives at your address. I get post for previous occupants of my house despite living here for 14 Years. Is our post not private then?

themumfairy · 17/12/2015 16:18

I've today received a letter from concentrix saying that they have info that I have someone else linked to myself or my address.
Admittedly my ex is still on the tenancy from 5 years ago but has never caused problems before so I'm not sure if this would just be flagged up out of no where. I have no post of anyone else's to my address either.
I need to send rent, council tax, gas, electric, water, bank statements and telephone bills to this company else my money will stop. They said they are investigating from April this year up until December 9th. I've got until 8th of January to send them. All my bills are direct debit so can clearly been seen on my statements that I pay them.
I've got them all ready to send and after reading this thread it will be by recorded delivery and I'll probably throw in a stamped self addressed envelope.
I'm so worried, my wages from work cover the bills mentioned so my tax credits are what feed my kids each week.
I'm just wondering are these random checks they do or has someone actually reported me? I don't like the thought of having someone around me who could do that and cause me worry. I'm quite shy and don't really socialise with many people mainly just family and I'm so worried.
After a decision is made do they just pop back off or do they have a habit of reappearing. Tia

themumfairy · 17/12/2015 16:33

Sorry me again. I've been reading through the thread and notice alot have had money stopped. If u send my documents in surely that's the end of it if they accept it? What are the chances of having money stopped before the deadline? January is always expensive (paying off xmas) and really can't afford to lose anything. Monthly wages is hard enough so it's the tax credits I rely on x

Luckymum82 · 17/12/2015 17:27

My deadline was 2 weeks ago and so far I am still receiving payments. I think that money is only stopped if they aren't happy with the info you send or if you fail to send it on time. Your letter sounds exactly the same as mine, it sounds like a huge fishing expedition - not like we don't have enough to stress about at this time of year eh?! X

Morgani97 · 18/12/2015 07:05

Themumfairy send everything they've asked for including any letters you have from gas, electric etc. I don't think anyone has reported you to be honest. Yes there's a few who have had their money stopped and quite a few that haven't. Luckymum I think you're probably right it's a huge fishing expedition and a lot of concentrix bonuses to be paid x

lin13 · 18/12/2015 13:44

i have recieved the same letter yesterday, not sure if to ring up to see what 'evidence' they have or just send the documents they ask for??

camperlove · 18/12/2015 20:03

I think I may have made a big mistake and need advice on what to do. I received a letter last month from concentrix saying, we believe someone else is living with you, send us divorce papers, bank statements, energy bills, council tax bills, phone, mortgage statement, from april to nov 2015.

I immediately thought they MUST be joking. A quick call to them will sort this problem out. I was WRONG in that department.

I told them I was a licenced HMO (house in multiple occupation), im supposed to have people living with me, its my job, I submit tax returns to the fact. I have actually 4 people this week, so you don't need this paperwork. The woman went to speak with someone else, and said , yes we do need it because we believe you are in a relationship with xxx.

I said room 1, definitely not, anyway he only moved in in august, so why do you need paperwork from april. He was living with his girlfriend, and he has a girlfriend. Contact him yourself and ask him for details. The internet has a lot of evidence to prove I am single ill send the evidence. Anyway why him? why not say im involved with room 3 or 4 or 6? They declined my evidence.

So they then said they have evidence to suggest I am financially linked to room 1. I said I am. he pays his rent into my bank account like everyone else. but that's where it ends.( Later I went online worried, and got my credit report. he definitely not showing up on it.) I said therefore you don't need the paperwork.

Then they said they still want the paperwork to make sure I was entitled to claim wtc in the first place.

I wrote them a letter stating they always trying to find another excuse and they cant have my paperwork, I wouldn't send all my details through the post anyway cause of id fraud. None of the paperwork they requested would prove or disprove their allegations. my business has a lot of receipts. They can have my whole tax file at the end of the tax year.! which I will deliver in person to the tax office.

I don't see how they can work out from the requested documents, my income as to whether I can claim wtc. They don't know payment out on xxx is for my gas certificate or payment xxx is for my emergency lighting. Only a full set of records will show my income and the tax year is not finished.

NOW I HAVE READ ON LINE ACTUALLY.....ONE DOES NOT WANT TO BE INVESTIGATED BY THE TAX MAN. I have read horror stories.

Many thanks.
ps. I am genuinely single....even dateless for several long years.
What can I now expect to happen from concentrix/tax man?

Morgani97 · 19/12/2015 10:03

Camperlove, please send what they're asking for if you don't they WILL stop your money. I know it's intrusive and understand you being worried about I.D theft etc. send everything by recorded delivery you can track it as well. It's just not worth arguing with them apparently they're always right (not) good luck x

Hawaiiturtle101 · 19/12/2015 21:15

I sent everything in and tippexed out all account numbers, mortgage roll number, and mobile numbers as I didn't like the idea of my account numbers being on display.

camperlove · 21/12/2015 15:53

its too late. I already sent the letter and the time has passed. I only found this thread after I sent them the letter. that's why I want to know what will happen now.

vodkaandcoke · 21/12/2015 22:42

I had the dreaded letter last week regarding my childcare. I only claim for holidays and when I rang on Friday to get help for this week I was told it had been stopped. Rang Concentrix who were actually nice and he has paid me for this week and I explained I don't have receipts or invoices so he said a letter from childcare provider with dates and what I paid would be sufficient. I'm still worrying myself sick now over Xmas!!

Hawaiiturtle101 · 22/12/2015 13:22

Sounds like they are definitely trying to catch alot of claimants out whether it's single people, self employed or those with childcare costs.

zizi1122 · 25/12/2015 11:19

hello every body , i need help please , i did receive a letter from concentrix : we have information that suggests there might be another person linked to me or my address , i am single mum for three kids 7 years 4years and 2years from 2013 , i have joint account with him from 2010 but after problems and separation i star used my private bank account , but my ex_husband still used the joint account and he have another private bank account ,i am still married , i have every thing in my name gas electric water home rental agreement council tax bills , i did call the concentrix and they told me is because they found my name in joint account ,
the joint account was a normal bank account in my husband name from 2005 to 2010 , and because he is the original owner he refuse to closed , he pay his bills and his loan from joint account , please help me can that make me in trouble

Morgani97 · 25/12/2015 18:23

zizi I think as long as you don't use the joint account you should be ok,do you pay all your bills from your own account? Can you not ask your ex husband to take your name off the joint account. If everything is paid in and out of your own account I don't think there will be a problem, send them everything with your name on and a covering letter x

Hawaiiturtle101 · 26/12/2015 17:40

An old joint account proves nothing. If everything else is in your name, a 2 year separation is not that long and people remain financially tied for many years. I would just send in what they ask for in your name and ignore the joint account.

zizi1122 · 27/12/2015 12:23

hi morgani97 and hawaiiturtle101 thank you very much for the advice , my ex-husband want to keep the joint account like an evidence he pay child maintenance, and he still want to use it , i can not take my name off the joint account , the bank said we must closed no way , i know where he live now and his landlord happy to give him evidence , hi receive all his private letter to his address , his car and his assurance register with his address , when he lift me i did ask him to cancel the land ligne and the internet because i can not ford , but he refuse because he want have contact with his kids and he want to pay the internet for them , he help my kids to improve their level in math and english and teach them french using program in computer
, i pay all my bills from my bank account ( rent council tax water gas electric food ) , and i receive any payment in my bank account , i did ring to concentrix and they told me about joint account . any think in joint account follow my husband ( bills in his name, loan in his name , wages in his name , child maintenance ) , please help me , do you think i must ask my husband to write that every think in joint account follow him ? i can not ignore the joint account my name is their because of that they ask me bank statement for both private and joint , his mobile land ligne and internet from same companie then he give them my address to resolve any internet problem or bring a new wifi box , but never ever i received a phone bills my ex-husband receive total bills by internet , and he pay every think together all phone bills
and he give my daughter a top up phone in his name to contact her if she is not home , he do top up buy joint account for her to talk with his family and me too i do top up by my bank account for her to talk with my family , please help me , i have not any phone in my name , please advice me

zizi1122 · 27/12/2015 12:42

if the landlord write a letter that is my husband live with him is it a good evidence ? and my ex-husband post like bank letter is it an evidence?

zizi1122 · 27/12/2015 12:46

my deadline is 11 january

camperlove · 27/12/2015 15:26

well I am not sure if my mp was of any use? I did get a reply from him saying he contacted concentrix and they did receive my letter and hmo license and to let him know the outcome. but im still waiting for someone to tell me what I can expect to happen. will I be taken to court or something?

Morgani97 · 27/12/2015 18:22

Hi zizi, send them your own bank statements which will show what goes in and out of it. Also send them any bills you have in your name,if they have asked for copies of the joking bank account then send them too but please send a covering letter explaining you DON'T use the joint account. Try and go to your local citizens advice bureau and ask them for any advice if you're not sure about anything else good luck x
