Please post your experiance from concentrix here, including how long it took for documents to go on system, how long to get documents, the time scale from start to finish (case closed) and what the outcome was

Tango did you phone concentrix to find out your case was closed?

Limes61 · 23/06/2015 16:37

I had to deal with Concentrix in March, accused me of having a partner which was absolute rubbish, they had my landlords name connected with my address (any way to accuse anyone, complete phishing exercise) So mine was all sorted. I thought this issue had died down but logged on the other day to find the thread not only full but well into a third! Hope everyone gets sorted, this thread really helped me.

Just wanted to say, any money from gambling is not taxed and in no way counts as income in the UK. This has always been the case, whoever told you that is categorically wrong, you can win the lottery and not pay a penny in tax. Gambling winnings is not income. I'm an accountant so I do know what I'm talking about. Income from ebay only counts if your running a business though it. Selling the odd item is fine but if you make and sell things regularly for example then you should be declaring that income to the tax man/tax credits.

I really hope I've been clear on that. Money from gambling is NOT income or in any way taxable, and it has nothing to do with tax credits (In this country).

xx

babyalan13 · 23/06/2015 16:57

That's good!!! Nah I only sell a handful of things each month. More coming up to Christmas. Nothing major .how long in total was yours sorted lime

Tango78 · 23/06/2015 16:58

yes babyalan I did phone them and they closed it on the phone and got decision letter a week later took about 7 weeks from start to finish.

Mypubesarestraight · 23/06/2015 16:58

limes the guy on the phone told me gambling would be seen as an income.
Hopefully Concentrix won't see it that way Sad

smokie19 · 23/06/2015 17:02

im with natwest and my child benefit went in fine as normal

Tango78 · 23/06/2015 17:06

Mypubes I play the lottery and it comes out of my bank and I had small amounts of winnings going in and Concentrix had a years bank statements and my check came back ok so fingers crossed.

Limes61 · 23/06/2015 17:17

I am absolutely 100% certain that gambling winnings are not income, I have no idea how someone from CAB can be so wrong when they are normally so good, I guarantee you that it is not income, obviously if you won a lump sum big enough that you would no longer be entitled for tax credits or other banefits then that is possible, up until recently millionaires could claim child benefit but there are caps in place now. But even a thousand here and there is nothing to do with tax man or tax credits. There are lots of websites you can look at, just google tax credits and gambling, I promise you that it has nothing to do with income. Some may disagree with that morally but it is law, please do not worry about the gambling xx

Tango78 · 23/06/2015 17:24

mypubes limes is right if you Google gambling winnings do not have to be declared to tax credits please don't worry you are not going to be fined x

Limes61 · 23/06/2015 17:31

I know I'm banging on about this but I can see how worried you are Mypubes, there isn't even a capital limit to claim tax credits (ie money in bank/savings) unlike other benefits. Only money received in interest is counted as income, so you'd have to have a hell of a lot of money in the bank to earn enough interest that it would even affect your tax credit claim.

And babyalan, mine took about 3 weeks total but this was back in March so before this massive backlog they seem to have now. Utterly ridiculous. x

12fedup12 · 23/06/2015 17:43

Limes 3 weeks you were lucky, they will have had my documents 3 weeks on Friday and still not on system as far as I know!
I am just really hoping that if it goes on this week that I will be one of the lucky ones and have it all finalised by end of next

babyalan13 · 23/06/2015 17:59

Aww so do I!!! I've done every online calculator I can find! And they are definitely underpaying me!! Since beginning of April cause earnings have went down. I better get it back. And apparently my weekly amount should be higher because my husband isn't working and isn't on benefits. So fingers crossed

12fedup12 · 23/06/2015 18:05

That would be great if they owe money and with any luck it's done before your holiday and you will have extra spending money!

I have done all the online calculators as well and I am getting exactly the right amount

My OH on trying to cheer me up on the whole thing said next time i speak to them just remeber they are the guy on the advert with sharon osbourne, in the suit jacket dancing to "dont cha" Its interesting idealisation but kind of scary

jonny82 · 23/06/2015 18:09

Our income declared on our renewal is less by about a grand than we estimated due to maternity so they should be under paying us too.

babyalan13 · 23/06/2015 18:10

Lol!!! Love that! Wouldn't be lovely to get extra payment. Really need to get my daughter a new bed. Didn't want to risk using my wages to get one in case tax credits stopped. Was all set to get her one when I received the dreaded letter from concentrix! So would be lovely.

babyalan13 · 23/06/2015 18:12

Mine the same Jonny with maternity and husband with no income compared to the following year

stresshead99 · 23/06/2015 18:13

Hi girls, I got the letter saying thank you for your documents we will contact you soon about your claim, yesterday. It was dated June 6th, so 16 days to get to me. I got my payment as usual this morning and I am hoping this is a good sign. I can't cope with the stress of ringing them up, sitting on hold for an hour, then being told doh! Or whatever they say. Morgan, were you weekly paid, did they ask you for more info? Baby, is your money due tomorrow? I really want to know if they would have simply stopped my payments by now. I have had 5 payments since this nightmare began, they must have at least looked at my claim on June 6th if that's when my letter was dated. Any hope out there?

12fedup12 · 23/06/2015 18:19

Jonny and baby the income on my renewal was spot on so I know they haven't under or over paid me, surly it can't be any more straight forward lol, really hope you both get a nice lump sum of money owed to you at the end of all this

12fedup12 · 23/06/2015 18:20

Louby76 · 23/06/2015 18:23

12fedup12 · 23/06/2015 18:32
