Hi there. Hope everyone is doing better today. I've officially survived the first day back at work. My boss was lovely and I told a couple of people on my team. I got through with just a few wobbly moments. I'm glad your day went okay Jonesy

Great news on the blood tests VJ and on DH's job Barbie. My boss is just back from Dubai and says that alcohol cost a fortune so there's another great reason to get preggers

Lilac it's so hard to just get on with things isn't it? I'm all over the place at the moment - one minute I'm joking around and feeling like me again. The next I'm unconsolable. But worse is that feeling of total emptiness when you remember and accept that it's happened but just can't imagine ever feeling right again. Maybe we just need to not expect too much so soon.

I have high hopes for next year though -for all of us.

Justbeme how are you doing today?

lilacpink · 10/11/2008 22:18

Hi Curley and Blue, hope you've had good evenings.

Blue - ceremony sounds very thoughful.
Curley - glad you've had support at work.

I def agree with the guilt at feeling ok, then remembering, then thinking is it ok to feel ok

Off to bed now, well watch tele in bed.
Nite 2 all. x

lilacpink · 10/11/2008 22:20

Sorry, meant to say barbie - agree with the guilt of feeling ok... too tired to concentrate, unusual for me (night owl).

mm1509 · 10/11/2008 22:26

Hi everyone,

It is a strange kind of acceptance that you are left with, being on my 3rd mc now I have to accept what comes to an extent.......if you don't you will go mad, trust me. We know we have to give ourselves time to grieve the problem others don't always allow you that time and it is the weeks, months, years that follow that can prove the saddest. We will get there and we will all have our positive outcomes, we have to cling onto that hope otherwise the future is unbearable.

barbie I should be able to meet on Saturday afternoon sometime after 2 o'clock, dd has dancing and swimming before that and dh is away racing in Carlisle all day. I tried to do a contact to you but it looks like your profile settings won't allow it, I think I have set mine to receive contacts if you want to try.

barbie1 · 10/11/2008 22:29

mm sounds good! have you paid £5 to use the cat in order to get contacts etc?

Just a quick post to say hello to all and hope everyone is well

barbie and mm so exciting that you ladies are going to meet!

I'm having one of my feeling-the-emptiness-physically days. I would have been 18 weeks, just wondering what I would have looked like. I seem to be putting on weight, and dont have a baby for an excuse!

I'm sure reading posts on here later on will cheer me up....

VJay · 11/11/2008 09:32

mermaidspurse · 11/11/2008 11:39

Morning everyone, been to the gym and feeling ace,but very spotty, curses spots and wrinkles.
morning sabs down days are so raw - when I have them I just bury myself in a book on the sofa and try not to feel guilty. I am geting close to giving myself the sack and employing someone else!
barbie and lilac yep know Plymouth well, but I am much further down the coast where only mermaids frolic!
mm buy yourself both a big hot chocolate when you meet up on saturday. I had never frequented forums before and it is lovely to see the heartfelt care and support that has come through on these threads.
curly well done for surviving work
vjay I miss studying, all that adrenaline of deadlines which bings me neatly to vm hope you are ok today girl.

VillageMum · 11/11/2008 12:51

Hi everyone! By some miracle I managed to write a thousand words yesterday and another thousand this morning, so that deadline is now dead! .

mermaid, just love your funny posts; I think you should be the writer, not me (the bit about the postit notes nearly killed me!)

Circular, I used to be a teacher but gave that up two years ago to write full time. My short-term deadlines now are all journalism...
When updating your profile on barbie's list just put that you are 25 (like me - 25 is definitely the new 40!)

VJay, brilliant news about your test results - what a relief that must be. I really hope that next time proves to be a long and boring pregnancy for you!

barbie, congrats on DH's Dubai contract, that's wonderful!

lilac, I found what you wrote a while back - about not being pg suddenly overwhelming you while you were just going about your business - very moving. It's the same for me. I think it takes time for the subconscious really to accept it; when the end comes, it's so abrupt that it's hard to take it in on every level.

mm, enjoy your Saturday meetup with barbie - remember to tell us all about it, girls! How are you going to recognise each other, BTW?

OK, back to a few other chores and tasks that are waiting to pounce... ((hugs)) to everyone.

VillageMum · 11/11/2008 12:59

Ha ha, I should add: I wrote a thousand words and NOT on Mumsnet for a change!

sabs, I meant to send you a ((hug)), sorry you're feeling low.

mermaidspurse · 11/11/2008 13:19

vm I have tried to write before with we all have a book in us approach but I became overwelmed with the whole process, its very hard and I admire all those who manage it, let alone those who get past an editors bin. Post it notes is about my limit.
right off to do some work, bypass mn, ebay, new car web sites and the junk mail.x

bluesatinsash · 11/11/2008 14:51

Hey everyone,

Hope your work is going OK Jonesy and curly VM - what magazines do you write for? I'm a regular Red reader. Used to read Vogue but way too frumpy for that now - sigh.

Nothing much doing here today, Just mooching in 2ww land. Going to go out for walk later as its actually dry and sunny .

barbie - as an expert on Estee Lauder - do you recommend their night serum? I'm thinking of asking for it for my xmas as my skin is rubbish just now.

mm1509 · 11/11/2008 15:20

Hi again,

vm well done girl, you have kicked that deadline into touch. You should be very proud of yourself, I know we are.

mermaid Looking forward to the hot chocolate with barbie. I have never bothered with forums before either, tbh on here is just nothing like I imagined forums to be, I think we can all agree about the support just shinning thru on here.

blue Glad it is dry and sunny where you are, hope you enjoy your walk.

Hope everyone else is good today, I'm sure I will be back later to check in on everyone.

mermaidspurse · 11/11/2008 16:57

mm and barbie of course you could both clutch a copy of vms book so you recognise each other
bluesatinsash I think my mermaids scales have gone way past night serum, we should have one of circulars saunas and sit here with a face pack on tonight, I'll supply the chocolate if you bring the pop

Sabs1981 · 11/11/2008 20:24

Hello ladies, its a bit quiet in here tonight...or has everyone gone to sit in the sauna with a facepack on, reading VM's book whilst drinking hot choc???

Thanx for everyones kind words, just kept myself busy with work...sitting down now with a box of after 8's

vm looking forward to your next book (no pressure there then!) which reminds me to get on amazon to order TBM!

barbie hope the shoppers didnt tire you out too much!

MollieMooma · 12/11/2008 08:38

Hello girls, Just to let you know that my broadband and BT vision is down at the moment and I can't catch up with the posts and do my own mammoth message whilst at work.
So Barbie I'm OK, to save you stalking me (I so love it that you do by the way)

Hugs to everyone especially those feeling down, will hopefully be back in the land of MN very soon as it feels as if my arms and legs have been cut off!

Sabs1981 · 12/11/2008 10:09

MollieMooma get your connection fixed soon, we miss you!

I have to tell you all about a dream I had last night. I dreamt that I gave birth to a baby girl. She was such a big and bouncy baby. My dream was so vivid, I can still see her clearly now.

It wasnt my lost angel (who I am convinced was a boy) but (hopefully) my next pregnancy and baby. I always tell my DH that our next baby is going to be a girl.

Anyway thought I would share that all with you. Hopefully I will meet my baby real soon...

Hope everyone is having a positive day

VillageMum · 12/11/2008 12:03

Sabs, what a lovely dream - soon to be a reality I hope!

mm, thanks for making me feel good about myself as you always do!

This is another quick one as RL is kicking in with a vengeance - just realised there's so much I've been neglecting thanks to the post-mc blues. Aaaaah the thought of sitting in a sauna with hot choc all day (what would that do to the inner thermostat, I wonder?!) sounds good though! x
