Apologies, I didn’t realise the last thread had filled up.

Some links to online resources that may be useful to anyone currently or recently going through this awful experience:

You are not alone - please post whatever you need, or just read if you aren’t ready to talk. I’ve had 5 MCs, and am now sadly at the end of my IVF journey, but want to keep this thread going for everyone else who might find it helpful.

@fleur89 yes! I went through same. pyjamas and sheets.

fleur89 · 19/03/2023 19:24

Aww thank you for the well wishes everyone, and it sounds like it's a normal hormonal reaction based on what I'm reading.

Interestingly this next level tiredness only kicked in on Friday, my MMC treatment was on Tuesday 🤔 Strange it didn't happen immediately.

Sunbird24 · 21/03/2023 11:42

Hi all, sorry I was AWOL over the weekend, hope everyone got through Sunday ok. My best friend sent me a happy mothers’ day message from all my ‘angel babies’ which was really sweet of her but I think I would have found it easier to not have it acknowledged at all. I may have to say something so it doesn’t become an annual thing…

@Sunbird24 my cousin sent me the same I was a bit like ‘wtf’ 🥲 I’m sure she meant well as did your friend

Eggling · 21/03/2023 20:06

@Sunbird24 and @Laura7899 I'm sorry, that must have been so tough. I guess it's that classic thing of people not understanding if they haven't been through it. The fact it comes from a good place doesn't make it easier for you though. Hope you're both doing ok 🤍

HopeAndStrength · 22/03/2023 08:47

Thank you for the kind words everyone.
I'm back at work and have told my line manager what has happened. Seeing how it goes before I decide whether to tell others in my team, as I don't think I am strong enough to handle the sympathy right now (they are lovely people). I tend to crumble when people are nice to me!

fleur89 · 24/03/2023 09:26

Hope everyone on here is okay 💗

I have a question about how long it takes for you to test negative post MC or MMC. I'm 11 days post medical management for a MMC and tested for the first time today. Still a pretty strong positive. My doctor told me to test at 2 weeks and 3 weeks post MMC. It definitely won't be negative by 2 weeks.

Wondering what others' experience is?

My baby stopped developing at 5.5 weeks but getting diagnosed and waiting for appointments meant I didn't have medical management until 10 weeks

I'm 15 days post surgical management and still testing positive. It was still a dye stealer 4 days ago. I tested this morning again and it's now much fainter. I think I'll be negative (or pretty much) by the 3 week mark. But I'm surprised at how slow the levels were to drop. Mine also stopped developing around 6 weeks and I had the surgery when I would have been 9 weeks.

Laura7899 · 24/03/2023 11:01

Hi @fleur89 I’m 3 weeks post surgical management and still a faint positive, my doctor did an ultrasound and said that there’s nothing left in my uterus, still no sign of my period either

Laura7899 · 24/03/2023 11:01

Ps @fleur89 hope you’re doing ok

krissy12 · 24/03/2023 20:38

@fleur89 I was just over 3 weeks to get a negative and 6 weeks today and still no period

fleur89 · 24/03/2023 21:56

@krissy12 @Laura7899 @StarBug12 thank you so much for sharing, sounds like it may take a while to test negative.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 29/03/2023 05:15

It's now almost 7 weeks since my surgery. Seems forever ago.
Had the hysteroscopy yesterday (everything is ok "in there") and getting pap tomorrow (not expecting any issues). 🤞
Have advised doctor I'd like to try again asap as long as everything looks good. Awaiting nurse follow-up to advise when I can begin taking/injecting/inserting hormones again. I can't wait to begin giving myself injections in my ass and inserting giant tablets into my vag again - I really miss contorting myself for the former and the gross discharge from the latter. 😝 In all seriousness, it's nothing when you so badly want a good outcome. I know you all know what I mean. ❤️

Hopefulhoney6 · 29/03/2023 08:03

@Mumtobabyhavoc that’s great news all is looking good 😌 with the tablets up your vag, is that the progesterone? My friend who is just pregnant from IVF said you can actually put them up your bum and it’s much cleaner!!

16 weeks since my D&C and 2 more weeks to wait for a hysteroscopy to remove the scarring / adhesions caused by it 🙄 but then hopefully all will be successful and we can TTC 6ish weeks after that! It’s a long journey….!

countrypunk · 29/03/2023 09:39

A family friend (who knows what we've been through) phoned my partner this morning to tell him his daughter (my partner's friend) is pregnant. No mention of our IVF or miscarriage or even a how are you both.

I want to scream and punch things.

countrypunk · 29/03/2023 09:56

@Mumtobabyhavoc I put the progesterone pessaries up my bum - no mess!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 29/03/2023 16:17

@countrypunk I'm so sorry that happened. Sometimes people don't know what to say, so they say nothing.😶
I don't know what's worse- the saying nothing which seems to ignore the loss or the "I hope you're feeling better" messages (that I got). 🤯
From my heart to yours, I am so very sorry and I truly wish I could make the sadness go away and change everything for you. 💐

Mumtobabyhavoc · 29/03/2023 16:20

The injection is progesterone; the other two are estrogen.

countrypunk · 29/03/2023 16:27

@Mumtobabyhavoc Thank you. That was a lovely message and really did make me feel better 🌻

Can i ask how you knew that there was scarring/adhesions caused by your D&C?

Hopefulhoney6 · 30/03/2023 14:41

@Whataretheodds …. I haven’t had a period since D&C, just v.v.v.v. spotting every month. But I have been ovulating (BBT/temp confirmed) and having my normal length cycles.

Its called Ashermans Syndrome so I went to the specialist gynae in London for that and he did a scan and confirmed a) I am ovulating and b) he could see scarring on my scan.

Whataretheodds · 30/03/2023 16:59

Thank you - sorry to hear that, i imagine it feels like adding insult to injury.

I wondered because I've felt weird in my abdomen since the D&C (not bowels, I'm pretty sure . Sort of twinges. I didn't feel that after the ERP I had last year.

countrypunk · 30/03/2023 20:13

@Whataretheodds Are you sure it's not your bowels? I found pooping (soz) quite painful for the first week or so after D&C, and some sitting positions. It just felt like everything internally was quite sore.

Hopefulhoney6 · 30/03/2023 20:46

@Whataretheodds yeah…. It does! It’s 6 months since we got pregnant and I’m still dealing with the fallout from the miscarriage. But hopefully sorted soon.

how long ago was your D&C? The main symptoms are very bad period pain (at the time of the month) and no bleeding so I’m sure you will be fine. It might just be everything settling down.
