@Brokenpancreas94 I am no expert but does sound hopeful that you could be near the end. Hope you are ok x

Brokenpancreas94 · 01/10/2022 11:31

@ChloeN @tulipsunday it first started on 24th but it was the brown spotting for a few days then the first little like clot thing was on the Monday but then it was a lot heavier by Wednesday. I've just been to the toilet again and it's alot lighter now, so think maybe I am near the end. Xxx

Hi all,

I hope your guys don't mind me joining I'm having a really hard time. I'll try and give a brief story.

I had a molar pregnancy that was my first pregnancy, and then a year later when I was given the all clear I fell pregnant with my son who is now three. I January we decided we wanted number two. I fell pregnant quickly and was thrilled, unfortunately it was a MMC had a d&c at 8-9 weeks, fell again quickly, same situation d&c at 8 weeks, I am now pregnant again and I'm currently 6 weeks.

I'm terrified, is the reality. It's been a rough year. We have a private scan booked for a weeks time and then the nhs have booked me in to scan me at 8 weeks. Time is going at snails pace. I have no symptoms what so ever which is also sitting uneasy with me.

All I can think is that this will be the same outcome as the last two, it's really taken the excitement and magic out of pregnancy and filled me with fear xx

ChloeN · 03/10/2022 16:06

@Brokenpancreas94 how are you lovely? Xx

@izzyroo92 so sorry to hear, sounds like you’ve had a really rough year! I’m keeping everything crossed for you that’ll be okay xxx

candycrush789 · 03/10/2022 16:10

Just me checking in. I would be 4 weeks post op this Wednesday. Bleeding finally stopped now just waiting on my period. I would be 14 weeks today which is a kick in the teeth really especially as I got an email saying 'your baby at 14 weeks' 😞😞 if only. Majority of the time, I'm now better then what I was I have the odd moment where I cry and get upset. Might be trying again in November, we will see I'm just sooooo anxious of it happening again! Hope your all doing well as can be and keeping healthy 💕💕x

ChloeN · 03/10/2022 18:35

@candycrush789 hey, your blessings being going on for ages! Glad it’s stopped🥰 my period I think was about 4ish weeks from when the bleeding started so not sure how that’ll work for you! Are you not trying again until after your period? Xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 03/10/2022 19:08

@ChloeN I'm getting there thank you lovely. I thought the bleeding was going to calm down now, but earlier I thought I needed a wee so went to the toilet but all that came out was blood and either a biggish clot or tissue - would explain the stomach pain I had today though, it feels like it is going on forever! xxx

@candycrush789 I would have been 14 weeks today too :( xx

@izzyroo92 sorry to hear of your hard time! Hoping everything is well with this pregnancy for you. xxxx

candycrush789 · 03/10/2022 19:14

@ChloeN I'm having a period 1st I know it doesn't mean anything but if it was gonna happen again I'd blame myself because I didn't have a period 1st. Not that I want to, I dont want to even be trying again, I want to be 14 weeks pregnant but you know life's shit and it is what it is I suppose x

@Brokenpancreas94 it's sad isn't it 😞 we must of been due around the same time, by lmp I was due 5th April, but by scans it was 11th. Either way doesn't matter now does it 🤷‍♀️ x

Brokenpancreas94 · 03/10/2022 19:39

@candycrush789 by my last period date I'd have been due around 3rd April! I don't know by scans though, it's so shit xxx

Sophiey11 · 03/10/2022 23:28

Hi all. I hope you all don’t mind me joining this thread. Sorry to you all who are going through this.
On September 6th we attended our 12 weeks scan and was told there was no heart beat. Baby made it to 11 weeks. I originally opted for medical miscarriage. Due to being 12 weeks I had to have to medication in hospital. After 5 days I had still not passed baby, only clots and tissue. I eventually had surgery 2 days later. I am now 19 days post op and still bleeding. Yesterday I passed 2 large & firm clots (sorry tmi) However doctors didn’t seem too concerned today.

  • how long did you all bleed for afterwards and when did your period start?
This is now my 3rd miscarriage and we have decided to book an appointment with a private clinic who specialise in recurrent miscarriage. The NHS referral has a 6 month waiting list just for a consultation. We don’t want to wait that long. We are hoping to get some tests done.
  • Has anyone had tests done after recurrent miscarriages? And what tests were they?
Sorry for the long post and questions, but really struggling to think positive at the moments, and hoping this forum will help. Thank you
Sunbird24 · 04/10/2022 07:07

@Sophiey11 im so sorry you’re going through this Flowers
There is a raft of blood tests they will do to check for your hormone levels, indicators of a blood clotting issue etc and they’ll probably do scans to see if there’s any physical reason they can see with your uterus.

After my last missed miscarriage I passed a bit more tissue a week later (it was obviously not a clot as different colour) and then didn’t bleed any more, but when my period didn’t start on time I discovered I still had some more retained and ended up with another surgery to remove it. Have you done a pregnancy test to check the line is disappearing? If you don’t get a negative by the weekend I’d be going back to the EPU for another scan to check for further retained tissue. They can either give you misoprostol or do another surgery - or both if you’re like me and the misoprostol doesn’t do the job.

It does feel strange wishing for that line to vanish when you so desperately wanted it to appear in the first place, but it gives you a kind of closure in a way, and your period should turn up 2-4 weeks later.

Feel free to ask questions in here or just have a vent if you need it, we all know how you feel.

Hi @Sunbird24 thank you so much for getting back to me. The hospital also advised we look into chromosome testing. So as well as the above, I think that’s an option we will explore.
I have been using the pregnancy strip tests every few days. Today the line was super faint, almost hard to see but none the less still a positive I guess. Tomorrow I have to phone the EPU if it still tests positive. I’m preparing myself for the worst that I may have to have the surgery again. The medical certainly didn’t work for me. 5 days of bleeding and hospital stay just to still not pass the baby. So surgery will be my choice if necessary.

tulipsunday · 04/10/2022 18:17

@Sophiey11 and @izzyroo92 sorry to hear you have been having a tough time.

@candycrush789 glad to hear your bleeding has stopped. Just finished first period since miscarriage. Hoping to give TTC a go this week though not sure we are going to get much opportunity which is a bit annoying 😬

Sophiey11 · 04/10/2022 18:18

Hi @tulipsunday how long did it take for your period to return after MC?

ChloeN · 04/10/2022 18:30

@tulipsunday what CD are you now?☺️xxx

tulipsunday · 04/10/2022 19:10

I am CD 11. Period started just over 3 weeks after I think I passed the sac. Had the miscarriage at home rather than surgery so may be why it was on the quicker side.

Sophiey11 · 06/10/2022 09:15

Hi all. I’m just looking for some further advise following this thread. I am trying to calculate when my period is due. Everything I have read so far advises to treat day 1 as the first day of bleeding. I started medical management 10.09.2022 and bled for 5 days but it’s failed. I then had surgery 14.09.2022. Can you please help with what day I would use as day 1. My cycle is usually 28 days.
I am also still experiencing bleeding from the MMC 3 weeks later. How will I know if I’m having a period or if it’s just continued bleeding? TIA

Brokenpancreas94 · 07/10/2022 02:25

@ChloeN @tulipsunday having the worst contraction cramps now, they're every minute and stoppping me from sleeping, the bleeding isn't as heavy anymore either. Just want this to be over with already 😭xxx

Sunbird24 · 07/10/2022 05:55

@Sophiey11 i would take your surgery date as day 1, rather than when you started bleeding. Have you got a negative HPT now? Hopefully the bleeding stops very soon, but don’t be afraid to call the EPU if you need to.

@Brokenpancreas94 yhat sounds awful, do any painkillers or a hot water bottle help at all?

I spent half of yesterday at the fertility clinic and did my trigger shot last night to prep for my final embryo transfer next week.

Sophiey11 · 07/10/2022 06:21

@Sunbird24 great thank you for the advice. Yes I have had 2 negative HPT but still bleeding daily which is frustrating.

Sunbird24 · 07/10/2022 06:29

@Sophiey11 sounds like things are moving in the right direction then. Make sure you stay hydrated, and keep your iron levels up if you can - either through your diet or with a supplement.

ChloeN · 07/10/2022 07:21

@Brokenpancreas94 oh no bless you 😔 have you been in contact with epu throughout? If you haven’t I might give them a call and explain you’re struggling, it seems to have been going on such a long time!xxx

tulipsunday · 07/10/2022 14:03

@Sunbird24 all the best for the embryo transfer. How are you feeling about everything?

@Brokenpancreas94 How are you doing? Sorry you have been in a lot of pain have you had any medical advice? @Sophiey11 hope you are ok x

Brokenpancreas94 · 07/10/2022 15:26

@tulipsunday @ChloeN I'm doing okay now, bleeding has calmed right down for the first time In a week and a half. I just need to do a test, but I keep forgetting to buy some 🤦🏼‍♀️xxx

Sophiey11 · 09/10/2022 19:38

Hi all. It has been nearly 4 weeks since my surgery for MMC. I am still bleeding and now experiencing period pains. I am starting to think maybe I have had a period straight away after my miscarriage bleeding? Has anyone else experienced this, or is it just still the MMC. I really wasn’t expecting to bleed this long after surgical management.
I also had my first appointment at the clinic yesterday for recurrent miscarriage. There are a number of blood test I need to have. 1 of which is a few days after your period. I am getting paranoid at how long this is going on for, and desperate to know if my periods are going to come back normal. Tia for any advice
