If you’re going through this, you’re not alone. I’ll post some links to support organisations shortly, but feel free to post, or just read, whatever you need. Flowers

@Brokenpancreas94 The EPAU told me with a miscarriage you might feel the urge to need to go to the toilet, but when I was in hospital I found it was hard to urinate even though I drank plenty of water.

My bleeding is really light today. I am just waiting to get my last hcg result back and my body temperature is still high so waiting for the progesterone to drop. The consultant signed me off until the 10th, but said I can go back to work earlier. She back-dated it to my scan last Wednesday.

How much time have people taken off work from past losses? I honestly don't know what is best.

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2022 10:07

@ChloeN I have called EPU, I am just waiting for a nurse to call me back with advice on what to do next as it was only the ward clerk who I managed to talk to xxx

I ended up taking about two weeks off I think, I had the op in the middle. I expected to be fit to go back sooner than I actually was, as it's both emotionally and physically exhausting. I hope you feel better soon.

TheHideAndSeekingHill · 26/09/2022 11:51

Can I ask if anyone else has had this? Had a normal but long period after MC, but then between that and next period had occasional outbreaks of bleeding. It would be a lot of blood at one go (filling a pad or two) and then nothing for another few days or even a week. Then again. Seemed to coincide with when I was feeling stressd but that could be coincidence.

I'm a bit worried it means I'm not proper "healed" or there's something left inside me. Worried it'll stop me conceiving again. I don't know whether it's just "one of those things" or whether I should speak t o someone.

ChloeN · 26/09/2022 12:29

@Brokenpancreas94 thats good hoepfully they can help! Xx

@TheHideAndSeekingHill if all your pregnancy tests when negative I guess you can assume it’s all out by now? Did you ever get scanned after the mc to check for retained products xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2022 12:37

@ChloeN they called but I missed the call because I didn't realise my phone rejects unknown callers 🤦🏼‍♀️ so waiting again, but she was with a patient when I called back. Xxx

TheHideAndSeekingHill · 26/09/2022 13:09

Thanks @ChloeN i had surgical management and they said they thought it was all out. Preg tests have been negative. Just so confused about what could be causing sudden gushes of blood though. Hopefully it will just clear up but it’s unnerving.

ChloeN · 26/09/2022 13:18

@Brokenpancreas94 oh how annoying! Hopefully you’ll hear back soon xx

@TheHideAndSeekingHill it could just be your hormones being all over the place I suppose! Fingers crossed it regulates again soon xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2022 13:20

@TheHideAndSeekingHill have you spoke to your GP or anyone about it? I agree it could just be hormones too xx

@ChloeN hopefully not long been waiting since 10am and they called about 12 so been waiting since then, hopefully they don't call when I'm getting my daughter from school! Partner has food poisoning or a stomach bug today 😩🤦🏼‍♀️xxx

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2022 13:29

@ChloeN had a call back, they couldn't get on the system to find out what I was measuring out and the scanner person wasn't in today, but to call back towards the end of the week and they should know. She said because I've had some bleeding even if it's brown to wait a couple of more days, as it would be better to not intervene medically, so I guess I will just have to see what happens in the next few days xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2022 15:20

Think everything is starting now, just passed a clot about the size of a 10p and cramping quite a bit now, dug my hot water bottle out and the cap is missing 😩🤦🏼‍♀️x

ChloeN · 26/09/2022 15:37

@Brokenpancreas94 hope you’re not in too much pain! Hopefully it’ll be over quickly now it’s started, I passed all of the actual pregnancy tissue in pretty much one go xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2022 15:41

@ChloeN I don't even know how big it's meant to be? Or if and when it is all out? Xxx

ChloeN · 26/09/2022 15:45

@Brokenpancreas94 I had 3 clots that was pregnancy tissue, it was quite big tbh. At hospital they said you’d know when it was tissue rather than a blood clot because it would be a pink colour or a dark purple rather than red. Sounds gross but if you touch it it’s not like blood it’s more hard. My baby stopped growing at 7 weeks and it all come out within 5 mins once it started, the cramps went away straight after xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2022 15:50

@ChloeN ohh these clots have been like a darkish purple! Not red! Haven't had any red at all yet xxx

ChloeN · 26/09/2022 15:52

@Brokenpancreas94 does it look like a period clot or different? What I had was nothing like a period clot, it looked a bit like an organ 🤣 it took 5 days from starting of bleeding to then actually pass the tissue though so mine was really slow of just normal blood xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2022 15:55

@ChloeN the clots this morning were similar to period. I guess the most recent one kind of was it's just without the bright red bleeding it's still brown mostly xxx

ChloeN · 26/09/2022 15:57

@Brokenpancreas94 might just take a few days of bleeding then! I was get so frustrated that the bleeding seemed to drag but got there in the end! Xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2022 15:58

@ChloeN same, it is dragging a bit! I was expecting it to be so fast! Xxx

tulipsunday · 26/09/2022 17:03

@Brokenpancreas94 hope you are not too uncomfortable. I had some large pieces of tissue similar to what @ChloeN said. You may have some larger pieces to come. Personally the pregnancy sac looked similar to the other tissue so I wasn't 100% sure but some people can clearly see. We are here to help you get through it xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2022 18:24

@tulipsunday @ChloeN feeling pretty uncomfortable now 😞 had another like clot or I think it was tissue, it's very weird. Had a bit of red as well. What pain relief do people use? Paracetamol never usually helps me xxx

tulipsunday · 26/09/2022 18:29

Paracetamol never really works for me either I used nurofen express capsules

Shefsum · 26/09/2022 20:12

I just wanted to post about my experience in case it helps someone. I had a MMC and was 9 weeks. I was terrified by some of the stories I read about having a miscarriage and convinced I would have a d and c. However I ended up misscarrying at home on Saturday and for me it was manageable with codeine and paracetomol. The pain wasn't nice but it was far better than I had expected and I never felt scared or out of control.

I know I am lucky and this isn't the case for everyone. I would never want to invalidate anyone's experiences but I thought this might offer some reassurance to anyone waiting for it to happen.

Sunbird24 · 26/09/2022 20:16

Thank you @Shefsum, I’m sorry you had to go through it, but glad that it was straightforward for you. Flowers
