If you’re going through this, you’re not alone. I’ll post some links to support organisations shortly, but feel free to post, or just read, whatever you need. Flowers

@Sunbird24 thank you, it's nice talking to others who know how it feels. My best friend has been amazing, but she lives 200 miles away 😢

@ChloeN yes, just the one they never mentioned another. Well when they initially scanned me the lady said there was no heartbeat but that she would get someone else to double check, who then confirmed it too, but I kept reading online that people were called back a week later for another scan? But then if my dates were correct which I think they were/are because I got my positive pregnancy test 2 days after my period was due, then baby should have been able to have been seen through my belly? I've no idea, think I'm just clinging onto unrealistic hope xx

ChloeN · 23/09/2022 20:29

@Brokenpancreas94 I think people often get rescanned if the baby is measuring really small, just in case the dates might be really wrong and a heartbeart might start in a few days.

Mine was measuring 7 weeks 2 days so it should of definitely had a heartbeat so I knew there was no chance of them being wrong! I was scanned once at private scan then again at the epu so like you was only scanned once by NHS. However they did tell me at epu I could be rescanned again if I requested before I took the tablets but I didn’t see any point xxx

Brokenpancreas94 · 23/09/2022 20:35

@ChloeN I wish I had asked what I was measuring at now. She did ask me if there was a chance that my dates could be wrong. I will see what they say on Monday when I ring. Feel like I don't know anything, other than "we can't find a heartbeat", I remember it so vividly and I just wish I didn't 😢xx

ChloeN · 23/09/2022 20:42

@Brokenpancreas94 its the worst thing you could possibly hear isn’t it 😣 don’t blame yourself for not asking, it’s really overwhelming at the time xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 23/09/2022 20:44

@ChloeN it really is 😢. I'm hoping I can get some information on Monday. Although I just thought I could probably call tomorrow too even though it's the weekend? I will have to see how my 6 year old is as she has been off school today with a sickness bug 😩xx

ChloeN · 23/09/2022 20:56

@Brokenpancreas94 the pregnancy unit at the hospital I go to was only Monday-Friday which was a bit annoying 🙄 yours might hopefully be open all weekend though! Xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 23/09/2022 21:03

@ChloeN I've no idea! I'll check the leaflet they gave me to see if it has anything on it! Xx

tulipsunday · 23/09/2022 22:28

Oh @Brokenpancreas94 really hope you get some more info soon. Thinking of you. Hope you are doing ok @ChloeN ?

ChloeN · 24/09/2022 07:14

@tulipsunday hey, I’m not too bad! I’m in my first proper tww since, it’s been sooo long 🤣 haven’t got much hope for this cycle so think I’m going to book a holiday instead 🤭xx

tulipsunday · 24/09/2022 08:02

Holiday sounds a great idea! 😄

ChloeN · 24/09/2022 08:11

@tulipsunday how have you been getting on? Xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 24/09/2022 08:50

@tulipsunday @ChloeN I woke up at 3am for a wee and there was a small bit of blood when I wiped and then when I woke up this morning, it's a bit heavier and I'm cramping a bit 😢

A holiday defo sounds good! We are due to go to haven in the October half term, think it will defo be needed! Xx

somethingluscious · 24/09/2022 14:23

I'm had a MMC at 9w2d scan, which they said hadn't grown since 5-6 weeks, but we saw heartbeat at 6w3d.

I have had 3 previous losses over 10 yes ago then had our 2nd daughter so never investigated them.

I am in hospital for chemical management all day tomorrow & they said they will do genetic chromosone testing on the pregnancy tissue.

I checked my HCG again too so I know what level it is coming down from.

Can anyone tell me how long it has tended to take for next couple of cycles to settle down?

The only thing that has tended to be good about losses at 5-6 weeks is I would usually have a new cycle pretty quickly, but I am 44 and I am worried there is another reason than my age for recurrent losses.

Was planning to get some AMH & day 2-5 blood tests & maybe other tests done, plus being referred for recurrent miscarriages.

Sunbird24 · 24/09/2022 15:07

@somethingluscious we’re the same age, my cycles have dropped right back into normal timings from my first period, except when I had retained tissue and had to have another surgery. Hopefully it’ll be the same for you.

Im sorry you’re going through this Flowers

Hi all, some of you may remember me from last month after I suffered an early miscarriage. I tried again right after the bleeding stopped and found out I was pregnant a couple of days ago at 8DPO. I'm 10DPO today and now bleeding again. I'm in total shock. I really thought this was going to be my time.

tulipsunday · 24/09/2022 18:38

Hope you are ok @Brokenpancreas94 sounds like your body is starting the process. Here if you need us all tonight.

@ChloeN doing ok thanks. Period started back today pleased about as hopefully means will be able to TTC in a couple of weeks. Spotty and crampy though which isn't much fun.

@somethingluscious @B1993 sorry for your losses xx

Sunbird24 · 24/09/2022 18:40

@Brokenpancreas94 how you getting on lovely?xx

@B1993 so sorry to hear that lovely, hope your not doing too badly💗

@tulipsunday ah that’s good news that your cycles returned! You planning on tracking ovulation this cycle or just going for it? Xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 24/09/2022 19:03

@tulipsunday @ChloeN i’m doing okay, thank you. Still very light bleeding, which is more brown in colour, and not really cramping now either. I thought it would be faster than this. Partner shocked me earlier though and asked if we are going to try again afterwards, I didn’t expect that. He has been a lot better today though! Xx

@B1993 @somethingluscious sorry for your losses xx

tulipsunday · 24/09/2022 19:14

@Brokenpancreas94 glad he has been better and glad you aren't feeling too uncomfortable. @ChloeN yep will be tracking ovulation though my husband is going to be away at some point potentially around then so guess will have to see🤷‍♀️

ChloeN · 24/09/2022 19:18

@Brokenpancreas94 must of definitely come around to the idea of having another baby then? Xxx

@tulipsunday oh how bloody annoying is that, fingers crossed you ovulate before he goes!

Brokenpancreas94 · 24/09/2022 19:22

@ChloeN it seems like it. I will probably wait for a bit though. I'm a Type 1 diabetic, and have a feeling that that may have contributed to my miscarriage. Diabetes centre like you to go to a preconception clinic before TTC. Although, I never went to one with my daughter, but I think because of this loss, I will try and go just to try and make our chances as high as possible.
Then I think it's because I didn't take the folic acid as much as I should have done, because it made my morning sickness worse, so I was vomiting it up the majority of the time. I know I need to stop with the what ifs 😢 xx

ChloeN · 24/09/2022 19:32

@Brokenpancreas94 I blamed myself not taking folic acid before pregnancy but the nurses at epu said it was so unlikely to have caused it to happen and to stop blaming myself! It’s really hard though, I feel like there’s need to be a reason for it to happen as opposed to just bad luck xx

B1993 · 24/09/2022 19:34

Thank all. I was quite postive as I know statistically you tend to carry to full term after a loss. I'm really struggling to process it though. I feel so lost

Brokenpancreas94 · 24/09/2022 19:36

@ChloeN it really does. I also thought that because I wasn't seen enough or by the diabetes unit at all this pregnancy. Compared to my 1st I was seen weekly from about 6/7weeks, this was in London though. Whereas where I am now in the North East I wasn't seen once, didn't even have my booking appointment until 10+6. Just couldn't get hold of them up here, so bizarre - but it won't change anything now xxx
