@Stargazer89 hi. My second mc had me bleeding out so much I couldn't get off of the toilet, if you're filling pads in less than an hour go to A&E. I had endless large clots too,
I felt fine till my partner said he wanted to take me to hospital and then when i stood up I almost passed out and I went down hill very very fast.
I'm not trying to scare you , just keep safe x

Doodledeedum · 21/11/2021 13:42

@Stargazer89 and of course I'm so sorry for your loss

Sunbird24 · 21/11/2021 13:51

@Stargazer89 so sorry you’re going through this. I’d give up on the EPU and ring 111. Keep track of how fast you’re filling a pad as @Doodledeedum said, and try and stay hydrated if you can as well.

Hi @Stargazer89 so sorry to hear what you're going through. I did experience the feeling you describe, but it only lasted 24 hours then slowed to a regular period type bleeding. I did find it scary though so got my DH to come with me when I went to the loo so I didn't have to be on my own. Sending lots of love, it's appalling that EPU is shut on the weekend. I found a hot water bottle helped in the days after alongside pain relief too.

SunAndSea37 · 21/11/2021 20:40

@Stargazer89 also as others have said, do go to A&E if in any doubt, they will be able to monitor your blood pressure too x

Stargazer89 · 21/11/2021 20:52

thanks guys. I am in hospital now, been in one hospital since 2 and now transferred to another to see specialist but been left in a waiting room and not being seen. It’s horrendous because the toilet is down the corridor and door doesn’t even lock properly!

Sunbird24 · 22/11/2021 08:04

Hope you’re home now @Stargazer89

Hi ladies, I’m on day 11 after my surgical management. How long did it take you to stop bleeding or test negative? I’m spotting red and brown quite a bit (a fair amount in a pad each day, never filling a pad though) and I’m testing blazing positive still :(.

Tofu35 · 22/11/2021 09:51

Hey @WorriedGirl91 I think my spotting stopped around 16 days after my miscarriage (10 weeks). I don't think anyone ever told me how long the spotting would last, so at the 2 week mark I was googling it! The first day without a pad on was a real treat though. I suppose your HCG levels will still be elevated if you're still spotting which would account for your positive test result.

teateatea56 · 22/11/2021 11:30

@Stargazer89 I hope that you got the help you need and hope your are somewhere comfortable and safe.

Can I ask a question?
My pain has ramped right down the past two days but I'm yet to see this 'really heavy period' that was described to me - has anyone just had lightish bleeding? I had two things drop into the loo on Saturday morning but I couldn't bare to look. I've not filled a pad up at all and am waking up with them practically clean. Blood is there when I wipe but I'm not sure if Saturday morning was it or if there is worse to come? I will call my EPU a bit later today but I reckon they will just say wait and see what happens. Just wondered if there were any experiences/advice....

Stargazer89 · 22/11/2021 12:01

thank you @Sunbird24 and @teateatea56 I am back home now and resting. They did a “very unpleasant” internal examination and said that there is active bleeding but my cervix was closed. I generally thought I would never stop passing clots and found it very traumatic. I showed the lovely gynaecologist who was training a photo of one of the larger ones and she agreed it was very large - easily size of my hand and then I passed another one similar size in hospital which almost caused me to pass out. They believe those two were the baby and the sack. I passed around 20 more large clots inbetween but I am now just bleeding and passing clots smaller around the size of a 50p and not needing to stay on the toilet so hoping over the worst.
@teateatea56 I said to the gynaecologist that I didn’t expect to pass as much and she said that everyone is different and every miscarriage is different. She said some women experience just light bleeding so fingers crossed that’s the case for you? Also I read about having bad cramps and pain but I didn’t really experience much pain, no more than normal period pain but I believe some women have contractions. It’s just the not knowing what to expect. Sending you all the best

Sunbird24 · 22/11/2021 12:33

@Stargazer89 I know exactly what you mean about the unpleasant internal! Envy (not envy)

How is everyone doing? Sorry to see there are more people who joined us. I saw someone asked about bleeding , for me I bled for 3 weeks, passed some big clots but when they scanned I still had everything there so I had the MVA procedure to complete, took a pregnancy test today in the hope it might be negative but still positive :( probably should have a waited a bit longer.

Can I ask how soon after MC people have started exercising? I went back to netball tonight (it’s been about 11 days since my procedure) and I’m in agony, really bad cramping, hoping I haven’t damaged anything :(

SGChome20 · 23/11/2021 10:47

I wish I didn’t have to come to this board and I also wish it wasn’t so busy. Sorry for what everyone is going through, I’ve been reading through some of the thread.

My story is I got a bfp and then a week later started bleeding, albeit not that heavy. I’ve almost stopped bleeding now I think, it’s very dark brown. Test yesterday was still pretty positive though. I’ll post a pic. My DH is clinging on to some hope that maybe I’m still pregnant but I’m almost certain that I’ve had a loss. My question is do I just keep testing till I get a bfn? I’ve called EPU and waiting to hear back.

Tofu35 · 23/11/2021 13:12

Hey @SGChome20 so sorry to hear about your bleeding and that you and your partner are stuck in that uncertain and stressful time while you wait to hear from someone Flowers

I would suggest you hold off testing until you hear back from EPU, these tests are costly (both money and emotionally!). Hope you hear back soon xx

AdrianeMole · 23/11/2021 19:22

Hello everyone, just found it I am going through a missed miscariage at our 16 weeks scan. We are devastated. Going to hospital tomorrow to decide between medical management or surgery. This has been a long hard road to get to this point of two years of IVF and two early losses before. I am still numb but dying inside remembering the sound of DH crying. I am hurting more for him if that makes sense.

Doodledeedum · 23/11/2021 19:53

@AdrianeMole oh my goodness I'm so so sorry. I do know what you mean, seeing my partner freeze made me hurt and jump to survival mode till he took over again.
It sounds like you've had a very gruelling difficult journey already and this is heartbreaking.... I'm so sorry

AdrianeMole · 23/11/2021 20:01

Thank you @Doodledeedum. I am very sorry for your losses too.

SGChome20 · 24/11/2021 21:26

@Tofu35 thanks, I’ve to take another test in a week but from what I told her she thinks it’s been an early loss.

@AdrianeMole how are you? I can’t imagine what you and DH are going through just now.

AdrianeMole · 24/11/2021 21:45

Hi @SGChome20 thanks for checking, strangely am feeling a bit better this afternoon. Have spoken to lots of people on here, famiky on Skype and text and seen a doctor and have a plan for tomorrow for management. I'm sure I'll feel sad more but the horrendous shock has gone and am looking forward a bit. Still sad of course. Have decided to book a holiday in a few months. How are you doing? Did you hear from your EPU?

Sunbird24 · 25/11/2021 15:43

How is everyone doing today?
I’m having my next embryo transfer tomorrow, can’t muster even a little hope that it’ll end up with an actual baby so not really sure why I’m doing it, but guess it’s worth a try…

@Sunbird24 don't give up hope I have everything crossed for you 🤞✨
I have started my period today. First after miscarriage so my emotions are all over the place but I am happy for a fresh start. X

LittleMysSister · 25/11/2021 15:59

It only takes one time Sunbird :) Don't lose hope x

Sunbird24 · 25/11/2021 16:10

Thanks ladies, I’m trying to think positive, just not doing very well!
It does seem counterintuitive to be glad you period arrives when you’ve just had a MC, but that’s so normal, as it’s another step closer to trying again. There were a few of us in a small but long-standing thread on just that subject - one had a baby recently and another is just coming up to 16 weeks, so it definitely happens!

1stTimeTina · 25/11/2021 16:22

Hope it goes ok @Sunbird24!!

Ah I bet that’s a relief @Skl2021 still waiting impatiently on mine, it’s only been two weeks, but like you say I just want to get back to normal.

Had a low afternoon, so working from the couch with a movie in the background , started reading about the Afghan refugees and it just set me off again, supposed to be out tomorrow night but scared I’ll end up in tears :(
