@jellybeanjc glad it’s going in the right direction, totally normal to worry about trying again though!

@Sunbird24 same almost at a negative. Still bleeding tiny amounts. So hoping that will all clear soon and I can catch ovulation when it will happen 🤞🏼

Sunbird24 · 10/05/2022 21:36

Fingers crossed for you both!

AF started tonight so my next embryo transfer is likely to be 23-26 June sometime, depending when I ovulate. Got my big bag of drugs ready!

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this (sorry TMI) -

Had the misoprostol pessaries 12 days ago on Wednesday at '10 wks' pregnant but baby died at 6 wks. Had very heavy bleeding (soaking through maternity pad in about 30 minutes) so had to go to the hospital. Had a cervical procedure where they removed some of the tissue but they said they hadn't got it all. After that though the cramps/bleeding pretty much died down and for the last (approx) 8 days I've just had light brown bleeding.

Weirdly though, when I wake up in the morning I have a lot of red blood/small clots when I wipe then it's just brown blood throughout the day. I was getting very frustrated and upset with this last night and complaining about it as it just feels like it's not progressing like a period would. It's heavy in the morning, light at night then I wake up and it's heavy again.

After getting very upset about the situation last night, I started to feel bad cramps (I haven't had cramps since being at the hospital). I felt a gush of blood and felt the urge to go to the toilet, and passed a clot that was a lot different to the others. I don't really know how to describe it - it sort of looked like a brain? It wasn't red like the others but red mixed with grey/fleshy and very solid.

Does anyone know what this might be? Am I finally making some progress towards this being over? I passed SO many clots in the hospital I find it unbelievable that there's anything left and I found the sensation of it really upsetting as that first night was traumatic for me.

@boringperson123 So sorry for your loss :(
I bled for 3 weeks after my medical misscarriage, and I am now booked In for a DNC Friday as there was tissue remaining.
I think even with a dnc it says you can bleed for 3 weeks so hopefully it calms down for you.
I seemed to pass lots of blood and clots but nothing I could quite point out as that. I guess can be different for everyone though It does sound traumatising, really hope your doing as okay as you can be.

@Sunbird24 good luck for your next transfer 🍀

Sunbird24 · 10/05/2022 23:17

@boringperson123 that sounds like what I had for the week after my latest surgical back in January - odd bleeding and cramps and then passed something greyish and had no more bleeding after that. It was just a bit of retained tissue as they definitely got my embryo in the surgery and sent it for genetic testing. I did turn out to have a little bit more retained after that which I had to have another surgery for in March after misoprostol didn’t do the job. If you can, see if the EPU will do a scan to check that the process is complete - otherwise you want to do a couple of home pregnancy tests over the next week or two/three to make sure they go back to negative.
I’ve also had a couple of haemorrhages that sent me to A&E, one resolved with probably a similar procedure that you had, and another that needed emergency surgery, so you’re absolutely not alone ref the feeling of those clots. Hopefully you never have to have any further dealings with the EPU after this, but if you do please make sure you tell them you’ve had a haemorrhage before so that they can put it in your notes. Flowers
I’m really sorry you’ve gone through all of this, it’s totally awful.

@LaurenFM good luck for your surgery. I had mine last Friday an all went well.

but now I’m frustrated as already bled for 2/3 weeks with medial management and don’t know when this bleeding to end. Hoping they got all the retained tissue and it’s over with.

my hcg is dropping and was faint ish line 2 days ago. But tested again today and wasn’t much change in the line annoyingly. But maybe I’m expecting too much as it seems to changed so fast in 2 days.

did ppl find there faint lines hang around for a while?

feel like I’m constantly worrying until it’s negative and bleeding stops and cycle resumes.

ChipAndDip · 11/05/2022 20:20

Hi ladies, I hope you’re all doing ok. Wondered if anyone else has experienced similar to me:

I had my medical management for MMC 2 weeks ago today. Scan last Friday showed a very small amount of retained tissue, but sac has passed and uterine lining is back down to 8mm. I haven’t had any bleeding or pain in well over a week.

Yesterday my HPT was still showing a strong positive but over the past 5 days my CM has started to go through the usual stages I’d expect in a normal cycle and today I’ve had EWCM and a positive OPK. I would assume the OPK is being impacted by my hCG levels but with the other symptoms I’m very confused! I’m probably reading too much into it, but hopefully this means I’ll get a negative HPT soon, closely followed by my period to flush the rest of the tissue out.

Has anyone else experienced ovu symptoms while still testing positive?

Cegbee · 11/05/2022 21:06

@ChipAndDip yes I had symptoms of ovulation about 2 weeks after surgical management and a positive OPK but like you I didn't know whether it was being impacted by left over bhcg as I was still testing very positive then too. My bhcg has only just gone negative and Im still waiting for AF 3 weeks later. Such a confusing time!

ChipAndDip · 11/05/2022 22:51

@Cegbee so confusing isn’t it! Thanks for sharing your experience, good to hear it’s not just me. I hope AF arrives soon for you! 🤞

Cegbee · 12/05/2022 04:06

@ChipAndDip you too. I've never wanted my period to start so much!

calimc83 · 13/05/2022 16:06

Gosh I can't believe I'm back in the thread. This is my 2nd MMC in the space of 6 months. I found out at a 'reassurance' scan. The same thing happened with my last pregnancy. I was around 7 weeks or so this time around and should have been 10. We are devastated again, it just hurts so badly doesn't it? My first baby's due date is also 3 weeks away and I feel like this baby was helping me through...I had the MVA procedure yesterday. Physically I'm finding recovery a lot easier than the 'tablet' route. I managed to get a referral for the recurrent miscarriage clinic but the consultant wouldn't agree to test the foteus as we already have 2 healthy children..I'm 39. Time is ticking away, I know my age has played a part I just don't know where we turn next...x

Sunbird24 · 13/05/2022 17:06

Ah @calimc83 I’m so sorry you’re back!

calimc83 · 13/05/2022 17:31

@Sunbird24 I was prepared for the worst but hoping for the best. Just wasn't meant to be I guess. How are u getting on? Xx

Sunbird24 · 13/05/2022 18:21

@calimc83 that’s the approach I take too. I’m in the process of changing clinics as I’ve moved across the country for a new job, hoping to try again next month with one of my 2 remaining embryos 🤞

OP posts:
calimc83 · 13/05/2022 19:32

@Sunbird24 oh everything crossed for you with your embryo? I don't know whether to go down the ivf route xx

LaurenFM · 14/05/2022 13:20

@Indianna2006Thank you, glad to hear your
procedure went well. I really struggled with mine, just felt so emotional. But I feel better after a good night sleep and some rest.
I’m the same, I feel like surely bleeding for a month already means we shouldn’t bleed that long this time round.
I can’t wait to be able to move on and try again. Just feel so lost with everything and like I’ve lost so much time.

@calimc83 so sorry for your loss :(

Indianna2006 · 15/05/2022 18:33

@LaurenFM just fyi I’d been bleeding 2 weeks before the op. I had bled for week after the op and now it’s stopped. And I’ve now had a negative test.

hope it will be the same for you and won’t be too long.

i had sex for first time in 5 weeks hurrah lol.

back in the game waiting to assess when ovulation happens

LaurenFM · 15/05/2022 19:29

Aww good news on the negative test (well at least for now) @Indianna2006 Definitely hoping for the same, it’s so light for me at the moment which i guess is a good sign.

YAY for back to business haha! Hope you ovulate soon! Will you wait for AF or just get on it? It’s hard to know what’s best isn’t it. I’d rather just get straight on it.

calimc83 · 15/05/2022 19:29

@LaurenFM thank you, it's just the worst isn't it x

calimc83 · 15/05/2022 19:30

@LaurenFM with you on that, feel like I've lost out on so much time. Now back at square one x

Indianna2006 · 15/05/2022 19:37

@LaurenFM I am gonna try catch ovulation and get on it!!

last time I ovulated within a week of my negative test. So expecting to be in my fertile week now really So on it 😂

but as it was a bit of a long time ttc for us. Not expecting much but you never know hey. Sometimes it is just luck I think!

LaurenFM · 15/05/2022 19:49

@Indianna2006 i don’t blame you at all! Everything online suggests it’s purely for dating reasons so I’m thinking the same. My husband says we need to relax and not put too much pressure on it.. can’t promise that 🤣 Wishing you all the luck!

@calimc83 Definitely time is going soo slow. Sorry to hear your first due date is coming up too. Life just seems so unfair doesn’t it. Keeping it crossed for you!

RachaelGuinan · 16/05/2022 20:26

Hi Everyone, Sadly I gave birth to our beautiful baby girl, who was born sleeping at 19 weeks 1 day gestation. In the eyes of the law this is classed as a miscarriage!!! I physically gave birth to our baby, as have many other women been through the same situation. This is no miscarriage, i gave birth to our baby.. I went through everything the same as a women who has gone full term would have. I have started a petition and would be really grateful if you would take a minute to read, sign and possibly share this petition please? I believe alot of people will agree that this law is wrong. I'd be really grateful for any kind of support or response this petition gets. Thankyou. Best wishes, Racheal x
