@mo22 if I'm recalling your story correctly, you've had some blood for a day or two now (apologies if I have this wrong!). So you may find you do see more blood over the next few days. If you get to the stage you're soaking through a sanitary towel in an hour, you should contact EPU again (or NHS 24 if it's out of hours).

If you do end up waiting and having a miscarriage naturally, a few wise women on this thread suggested a few handy things to help: some thick sanitary pads (more absorbance the better), some puppy training pads (I had to sit on them in the hospital, really helped with leakage!), and something for the cramps (hot water bottle, comfortable old clothes, paracetamol).

It's shit, really shit that we're all here united by a horrible experience, but it's a good group with lots of support.

@MO22 I agree with @Tofu35 it sounds like this may steadily progress.... will you have anyone with you over the next few days?

Hopingforarainbow27 · 07/12/2021 16:10
@Hopingforarainbow27 I had as much blood work as I could done and my scans were checked - uterus and ovaries appeared normal. I was told it was bad luck.... this time I'm taking aspirin though ( disclaimer: I'm not saying it's for everybody) but upon reading lots of other info and threads it won't do any harm ... for me...
i specifically asked about my blood work showing any clotting issues and it didn't ... and I'm hoping if I manage to conceive again I can speak to the GP regarding the progesterone help.... but both mine were silent/missed MC so I don't know if it would be an option for me ....
I had my bloods done and they came back fine. Still waiting on the clotting one to come back, it takes longer. Do you know of the NK cell test is within the blood tests they do?
I'm going to try aspirin too and the midwife said she would give me progesterone as well but my babies had already stopped growing by the time I bled, I started bleeding and next day I had my scan and it had stopped growing 3 weeks earlier. So I'm in the same boat as you :( are you ttc again? I'm going to try again next cycle!

Doodledeedum · 07/12/2021 17:04

@Hopingforarainbow27 hard to answer as I'm not but I am as I'm so aware of my cycle and CM .... I didn't know the clotting one took longer? I asked specifically for that and got told I was ok on that front.... Interesting that you get the progesterone even though you, like I, have the same complication with how we have MC... it's so hard to know what to do. I wanted as many tests as I was entitled to before I tried again as well.... 😞 I think the NK one would be done after three? If not and I was to conceive again and god forbid suffer again I would go privately for this test if I can . ...

MO22 · 07/12/2021 17:07

@Tofu35 @Doodledeedum thanks both, yep I've got my husband with me. I have had on and off bleeding (which was why I went to the EPU and got the MMC diagnosis) since Sat. Went for a long walk today and thought things were happening but now nothing again.

I'm doing a bit of soul searching and wondering if I just do the D&C asap now. At least I can be in control and it's not waiting for another ten days... I am just absolutely terrified of having an operation (I never have).

Really appreciate all the information and support everyone X

AdrianeMole · 07/12/2021 17:17

Just to say @MO22 if you do do the D&C its a very simple procedure they go in through the cervix gently. In fact it only takes about 10 minutes.
I am actually worried that I actually look forward to the anaesthetic a bit too much after various operations in the last 2 years. You feel amazing for like two seconds, fall asleep then wake up in the recovery room.

I might ring tomorrow and ask if it was one of the ones I got! I will let you know. I think there was 12 bloods they did so I would imagine it should be! I'm so sorry your in the same boat as me.
I know what you mean about ttc I'm exactly the same. We never dtd at the right time this cycle. I'm now Cd30 so just want af to come to start fresh!

Doodledeedum · 07/12/2021 18:28

@Hopingforarainbow27 I told myself if the deed happens it happens and it ALL happened around THAT time.... so now I'm feeling all the cramps and pains waiting for AF to arrive and I'm scared it will and scared it won't. I don't even really know what day I'm due I'm just going by 28 days but each time I've had a MC it goes to 30 days.... My therapist advised taking a proper break from it but it's soooo hard when I know everything to look out for. Fingers crossed you have had the results. Keep me posted. X

MO22 · 07/12/2021 19:04

Thanks for this, I think I've built it up in my mind a bit as I've never experienced it, but I think I might just go for it so I can take a bit of control back and get to a resolution so I can try and move on. You've all been so helpful, thank you Flowers

Doodledeedum · 08/12/2021 08:26

Ladies, have periods symptoms changed for you since MC/s ? I feel like my body has changed each time and the symptoms I feel vastly different....

Skl2021 · 08/12/2021 10:43

Hey ladies I'm cd 14 today and no signs of ovulation so did your ovulation change after miscarriage? I'm so scared I'm not going to ovulate 😩 x

BlueForYou3 · 08/12/2021 10:57

@Skl2021 I started using Ovusense as soon as I stopped bleeding to track my BBT. Ovulation was confirmed on CD29 which is about a week later than normal for me

Skl2021 · 08/12/2021 11:01

@BlueForYou3 thankyou that gives me hope 🤞 I don't use bbt but have been using opks and there stark white still and got no ewcm either hope it comes soon! X

BlueForYou3 · 08/12/2021 11:39

@Skl2021 Fingers crossed! Smile I recorded EWCM on CD26 and 27 but I think OPK’s were still picking up small traces of HCG for me despite negative pregnancy tests. Just waiting for AF to arrive now and hoping my next cycle goes back to normal

Skl2021 · 08/12/2021 12:05

@BlueForYou3 I did ovulate after my miscarriage but now IV had my first period since then I thought it would of gone back to normal but guess not! 😩 IL keep checking and waiting! Hope yours goes back to normal!

InvisibleDreamer · 08/12/2021 14:09

@Skl2021 & @Doodledeedum my periods are completely different now 3 cycles post mmc. Very heavy for 3-4 days changing pad every two hours a lot of the time then stops for 24hours followed by lighter bleeding for a couple of days. None of my usual signs of ovulation which is annoying but ovulation tracking with clear blue still shows peak ovulation around my usual ovulation time. Horrible pmt with this period too which I’ve not had since coming off pill in 2018. Hoping that heavier periods and mood swings are a positive as my periods always used to be much heavier & I always used to have more mood swings. It was one of the things I worried about when coming off the pill but never really happened. Crossing my fingers that it means my body is more receptive to being/getting pregnant. Have noticed other health improvements too so hopefully this means my hormone levels are optimal. I’ve no scientific basis for this I just feel like my body is more how it should be.

Skl2021 · 08/12/2021 14:15

@InvisibleDreamer yes IV been looking for ewcm but like u say I might not get that now. I'm using opks so will just keep going and see if anything happens 🤞 hopefully soon as I'm sick of waiting now 🤦

AdrianeMole · 08/12/2021 14:17

So we had a follow up with our IVF doc and because of the late loss and prior loss he is referring us to the recurrent miscariage team at St Mary's for lots of tests. I actually feel worse now as I guess it's a problem to do with me. Tests can't be done until the new year as my body still recovering from the late loss.

Hopingforarainbow27 · 08/12/2021 14:23

@Doodledeedum I phoned and they said they don't do the test for the NK cells 🙄 maybe I'd have to pay private to get that

Doodledeedum · 08/12/2021 14:24

@Hopingforarainbow27 I thought as much which is why I thought I'd have to explore that privately. The blood clotting?

Hopingforarainbow27 · 08/12/2021 14:26

@Doodledeedum I tried to google there but I can't see anywhere that does it? I'm in Northern Ireland!?
She said there is a back log for the blood clotting tests 🙄 so annoying. So I'll have to just take aspirin as a precaution. I feel like it could be the clotting one for me as my blood would be "sticky" sorry tmi!

Doodledeedum · 08/12/2021 14:28

@Hopingforarainbow27 well during my 2nd MC it was mentioned to me by a few of the health care professionals plus my blood is really hard to draw. But my blood work came back ok? Who knowS? I'm surprised this wasn't tested in one of the 12 things they tested for you?!

Hopingforarainbow27 · 08/12/2021 14:30

@Doodledeedum i know 12 tests!! She didn't even say why they don't test the NK one but I didn't ask either lol I always think of things I should have said after!

InvisibleDreamer · 08/12/2021 14:32

@Skl2021 yes I’m not getting any now which is wierd, you may find the same. I had some very strange OPK results after a negative PT after miscarriage bleeding stopped. I didn’t start testing straight away so looks like I missed ovulation had a low result then had a high reading for 10 days in a row and then my first period two days after I gave up on testing. It looks like I ovulated within a few days of bleeding stopping going by when my period started. OPK results these last two periods have been back to normal. It was very odd but perhaps they just don’t work as well for your first cycle for some reason??

Doodledeedum · 08/12/2021 14:36

@Hopingforarainbow27 you'll be able to request a report of the the findings - ask and go to collect them so you have them to hand should you want to go further.
