Period after miscarriage

Hello, I had surgical management mid July and I'm losing the will to live waiting for my period.

I know that it can often take around 6 weeks to return but I have had very strong period cramps for the past 2 weeks and no sign of AF.

Have also had a few follow up scans which showed no issues.

My OPK results have also been wild- had a peak on 11/08 and then another almost peak on 20/08. Today they are fairly dark again. We haven't tried this month so not sure why I've done the ovulation tests, just for fun I suppose.

Does anybody have any experience similar to this??

@Sdoubleyou, coincidentally my sister lives in Liverpool - never done that crossing to Derry but I 100% believe it would be awful in winter. Blergggh.

@Newgirl21, I know - such a basic Brit! 🤣

amyh2012 · 25/10/2021 15:50

Hey ladies!

Hope you're all well, just been catching up and chuckling at your posts. It's nice to have a little community here 💜 I live in Liverpool! Small world hey 🥰

I'm on CD10 today, quite chilled at the minute. Been discussing the baby making strategy with my other half🤣 I'm going for every 3-5 days until ovulation hits and in his words 'then we'll smash it'😂😂🤷🏼‍♀️ fingers crossed for us all.

I have some pre seed lurking in my drawer actually, I'll add it to my strategy 🤣🤣🤣

Shortmamashortcycles · 25/10/2021 21:49

@amyh2012, all roads lead to Liverpool! Small world indeed...

Loving your OH's attitude - that's the can-do spirit to get another BFP! 💪💪🤣

Sdoubleyou · 26/10/2021 00:03

@amyh2012, "smash it" made me laugh out loud! I found it really helps to laugh and have fun at the process. When I got pregnant quickly my DP said to me "I'm not surprised, you know I'm good at everything". And since it hasn't happened again yet, I keep telling him "you had one job!" 😂 I'm also on CD 10, getting ready to giddy up.

@Shortmamashortcycles, how you feeling? Did you manage to resist testing? If you did, I am sincerely impressed!

Shortmamashortcycles · 26/10/2021 06:51

@Sdoubleyou, I just tested and BFN as I expected. Am 99% sure I ovulated 5 days later than I usually do, so we missed the window.

The good news is that I have to travel for work next month and the later my period is, the more likely it is that I'm back before my next fertile window shuts!

Newgirl21 · 26/10/2021 09:52

Omgosh I'm glad it’s not just my Hubby, too funny 😂😂 with my DS we literally conceived first time after I came off the pill- he hurt his back and was out of action for the rest of the month so he’s convinced he has ‘magic sperm!’ 🤦🏻‍♀️ Men do take a sense of pride it 😂
Hope everyone’s doing ok ☺️

Sdoubleyou · 26/10/2021 18:12

@Shortmamashortcycles, I also ovulated a little later after the MC. Good news if that works in your favour! While reading all of the internet post-MC, I learned that the luteal phase rarely changes, so your cycles will pretty much just be pushed back a few days.

Sdoubleyou · 26/10/2021 18:13

And about our funny partners, mine refused to BD with me yesterday, saying "it's starts tomorrow, I'll be ready tomorrow". I tell ya!

Shortmamashortcycles · 26/10/2021 18:54

@Sdoubleyou, oh that's interesting (about cycles and ovulation post-MC, not your partner needing a night off 🤣)

Hope he's on for tonight at least! Someone should warn teenage boys about this - talk about being careful what you wish for, if only they could understand that in 15 years they'll be literally begging for a night off!

amyh2012 · 26/10/2021 20:29

@Sdoubleyou were cycle buddies! Well for now anyway, my cycles have been up and down since coming off the pill and then after the MC. Probably won't ovulate till after day 20.
Here's hoping it's our cycle!

@Shortmamashortcycles hopefully you ovulate a little later this month so you can catch it and 'smash it' 🤞🏼😂

I've actually noticed that, my luteal phase is always the same, it's 14 days from ovulating on the dot and even when my cycles have been longer or shorter I always have the same 14 days after ovulation.

I quite like the way me and my OH have a laugh about it. We're so open about everything, including laughing about how much TTC has ruined our sex life 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

Sdoubleyou · 26/10/2021 21:39

It was difficult for us at the beginning because he didn't expect to have to be on several nights in a row. He works late during the week so he was less enthusiastic. But we found a compromise and I "sweeten the deal" for him as well. Like this weekend I gave him a shower BJ and let him cum on the body part of his choice (totally owning the TMI!). Lucky guy! And we try to laugh about it during the intense part, but honestly, it just takes a few days into it and we realize that it's fun to do it often :)

amyh2012 · 27/10/2021 10:13

@Sdoubleyou sounds like guys are much better than me! Hey nothing here is TMI, I think we're past that stage of sharing tmi with people we meet on the internet 🤣
It is hard work isn't it, I just wish I could do the whole 'stop trying and you'll get pregnant' thing. That's a load of bollocks😂😂 nobody stops surely, the little devil in the back of my mind will still be counting days and wanting to POAS!!

Sdoubleyou · 27/10/2021 15:13

@amyh2012, someone said that to me recently, "it'll happen when you stop trying". Well, it happened the first time when I was trying HARD. And I can't conceive of a time when I won't be trying to some degree.

amyh2012 · 27/10/2021 18:28

@Sdoubleyou haha I hate that!!!

'Just relax, it'll happen, trust me' 🥲 the only thing that will happen is that I will punch you in the face 😬 trust me 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Sdoubleyou · 28/10/2021 03:02

Dying laughing @amyh2012!! I'll try that next time!

Shortmamashortcycles · 29/10/2021 15:53

Appropriately for this thread, I am having an unbelievably heavy period! Second one after the mc and wow... this was one thick lining!

@Sdoubleyou, @Newgirl21, @amyh2012 - how are you all doing?

Newgirl21 · 29/10/2021 22:34

I’m sorry your having a particularly heavy one @Shortmamashortcycles, hopefully that means your having a good ‘clear out’ ready to start again 🤞🏻
I’m doing alright thanks, still awaiting my scan and extremely fed up, chasing it has got me nowhere so I’m just waiting, but I’ve starting working out again and feeling better for it

Sdoubleyou · 30/10/2021 03:42

@Shortmamashortcycles, my second was intense as well, but it felt like a rebalancing. Good that it was on time too. While it's still shit, at least there are some positives.

My LH levels are rising, on time for Sunday ovulation. We're going to a hotel/spa tomorrow to relax. It's getting really cold here and outdoor spas are a big thing. Should be great with the autumn leaves.

In other news, a friend told me the dreaded "just relax" line tonight and I told her to stop or I'd have to punch her in the face 😂. She understood.

Sdoubleyou · 30/10/2021 03:45

@Newgirl21, hope you're holding in there. I don't want to keep asking, since you can't make it go faster, and I don't want to give you the desire to punch me in the face :) But good to have news from you 💛

Shortmamashortcycles · 30/10/2021 06:31

@Newgirl21, I was finally able to start exercising again a week or so ago too - the post-surgery anaemia is easing off - and it felt so wonderful for my body to move and do stuff unrelated to bloody conception. So pleased you're getting to enjoy it too.

@Sdoubleyou, spa weekend sounds dreamy - have a wonderful time! I absolutely love your response to your friend 🤣🤣🤣 - good on her for taking it well!

Newgirl21 · 30/10/2021 15:20

Thanks guys ☺️
DW @Sdoubleyou, I have absolutely no desire to punch you in the face 🤣🤣 The spa sounds perfect 😍 enjoy!
My Hubby has also whisked me away, he’s arranged a sitter and surprised me for our ‘dating anniversary’ to the place we first met.
I know what you mean @Shortmamashortcycles, I’m slowly beginning to feel like my old self again - exercise can do wonders for mental health. I’m so glad to hear your feeling better ☺️

amyh2012 · 31/10/2021 15:31

Aw @Newgirl21 I'm sorry to hear you're not sorted yet. You must be so fed up🥺 I have everything crossed for you. Hope you had your mind taken off it all with a gorgeous weekend away!

@Sdoubleyou hope you relaxed enough this weekend 🤣 wishing you luck if today if ovulation 👏🏼🤞🏼 I'm hoping to ovulate earlier than day 26 this cycle so fingers crossed my levels start to rise soon!

@Shortmamashortcycles thanks for asking! Doing good thanks, just chilled this time around. Not trying to figure out why, but just going with it! Maybe I'm relaxing 🤣🤣🤣
My last period was my 2nd one from the MC and it was certainly different and last longer. Least we're all in the same boat with it all.

Hope you've all had gorgeous weekends! I have the Sunday back to work fear😒

Sdoubleyou · 01/11/2021 13:25

Hey all, glad you're doing well! Hope Monday isn't kicking you in the butt too badly. I took today off as well, so it's another relaxing day. I peaked on Saturday, so in the TWW now 😬. We smashed it at the hotel 😂. Hoping it works this month cause I can't take a holiday every time I ovulate!

amyh2012 · 01/11/2021 18:01

@Sdoubleyou 😂 smashed it haha so please for you!! I have everything crossed for you. Officially in the dreaded 2ww!!! Sending all the 'baby dust' your way😂🤞🏼

Can you imagine a little holiday during ovulation windows every time? It's like a deluxe version of the handmaids tale🤣🤣 if you've not seen it, you absolutely need to!!

Newgirl21 · 01/11/2021 21:04

I’m glad everyone had a good weekend ☺️
@Sdoubleyou a holiday for every ovulation sounds dreamy 😍

We also ‘smashed it’ twice 😉 I have no idea if I’m able to fall pregnant at the moment or what’s going on. So for me for now the pressure is off (at least until after my scan - whenever it comes through) we’re not using protection so I guess we’ll see 😎
