@Ralala so you were right! I was fobbed off with 'do another test in a week' arghh! I guess all I can do is wait. She said it could be residual and to call back if still positive next week.

Ralala · 11/02/2021 12:22

@Mellous ahhhh I knew it😂 fingers crossed that line gets darker... bulk buy some frers for the week ahead .... I have everything crossed for you xx

AMS19 · 11/02/2021 14:50

@PlantMummy87 that's really helpful thank you. Mine seems to have gone back down today so seems my body attempted but failed to peak/ovulate. Hopefully will try again!

@TheDaydreamBelievers oh no so frustrating isn't it. Have you had peaks? Mine didn't quite make it and no temp rise so failed attempt. Really hoping it tries again so I get a shot this cycle

@Mellous definitely a line. Finegrs crossed its a new one 🙏🙏🤞🤞 my FRER went darker weirdly, same as you, but wasn't a new pregnancy, so even a dodgy test or a random hcg surge!

Ralala · 11/02/2021 15:26

So after a period can we trust a pregnancy test again 🤣

AMS19 · 11/02/2021 15:34

@Ralala not in my case! My FRER was still there even after my period. In fairness, my period was SUPER light!

@AMS19 Hi lovely! Yep I am. And yes, mine are now more gradual. And even then, my “peak” was much lower than normal! I’m hoping my next cycle will be a bit better. Out of curiosity which OPKs do you use? I use easy@home. Not sure how accurate they are! Xx

AMS19 · 11/02/2021 16:06

@Summersun001 I've started using the easy@home ones but don't like them as much as the ones I used previously! If I had had a temp rise today I would have just assumed I missed my peak, but I didn't so don't think I did peak! I've attached mine for you to see. I'm hoping my body will try again to ovulate and not give up entirely this cycle xx

@Mellous ahh that’s so annoying they fobbed you off! 🙄 maybe push your GP to get bloods sorted for you next week? By which time your tests might have got darker / lighter so you’ll probably have a better idea of what’s going on anyway! Hope the uncertainty isn’t driving you too mad! X

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/02/2021 20:25

So, my news from today is that I'm going to get testing for sticky blood aka Antiphospholipid syndrome - apparently my healthboard has started offering it for people who have a MMC right at the end of the first trimester onwards, as its quite unusual for that to happen ('common/normal' to discover a MMC at 12 weeks, but 'uncommon/abnormal' for the fetal death to have happened at that point - usually the fetus in a MMC will have died between 6 and 9 weeks. One possible cause is clotting issues so they are offering a test. So I need to call when I next have a period and they'll run bloods.

Summersun001 · 11/02/2021 20:32

@AMS19 ah! Well we started using these in September. Conceived in the October, so I’ve attached my peak from then, and my most recent. Nowhere near as strong and took a while to build! Then it dropped and went back up again. Strange. Hopefully it will be a little clearer this month xxx

@TheDaydreamBelievers that's super interesting. Is that what you can take a dose low of aspirin to prevent? I would really like to have that test done privately if it is so great to be getting that done. You had a scan post 10 weeks didn't you? Yes that is unusual, super bloody tough getting that far, I'm so sorry!

@Summersun001 your peak was exactly the same time I peaked, the day before! Mine was a lot clearer last time, different brand which I actually much prefer. Taken the night off from DTD, will go back to every other day now assuming I don't start to get another surge. I'm pretty sure I haven't ovulated. I've had no temp rise and no ovulation pain at all. Really hope my body tries again this cycle xx

@AMS19 I'm not sure how easy/expensive it is to get done privately as from reading its actually quite a complex testing panel. They have to do 1 test, then if that looks bad, another test 6 weeks later (cannot conceive in the meantime).

If it came back as a yes, it would mean aspirin plus an injected drug (heparin) every day from TTC through to about 6 weeks after the end of a pregnancy, so I blooming hope not! Also has implications for my own lifelong health regarding blood clots etc.

Yeah, the reason I got referred is that the estimated fetal death was 11 weeks, which is unusually late for a MMC in the first trimester.

AMS19 · 11/02/2021 20:56

@TheDaydreamBelievers yeah i agree when I've looked before it wasn't straight forward. I think I'm just desperate to find a reason and I need to just try and again and see what happens. If it happens again then maybe look into further tests.

I have everything crossed it won't be that. Gosh though, 11 weeks. I cant even imagine! 💔
Well hope you won't need it because you'll fall this cycle and have a textbook pregnancy!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/02/2021 21:03

@AMS19 I understand, but I think the hard bit about MC is that its very likely 1) there was no cause or 2) it was caused by good old bad luck (aka funny genetics mix). And actually that's what you WANT it to be because the other causes are 1) much worse and 2) give you a much bigger chance of MC in future. Whereas if it was just bad luck then there's no raised risk in future.

(sorry I've officially freaked myself out reading about this and now really hoping it turns out to be nothing at all and not this!)

AMS19 · 11/02/2021 21:07

@TheDaydreamBelievers yeah you are right, and it being bad luck is absolutely the best outcome. Hopefully this is just another thing to rule out and give you more confidence going into the next pregnancy. Reading stuff always makes it sound terrifying but it's great to know whats going or (or not going on as hopefully is the case here). Sending big hugs

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/02/2021 21:08

@AMS19 thank you :) and also I didnt mean to sound dismissive (if I did) - in Dec and Jan I totally felt like its so unfair and scary that MC/MMC so often has no explanation and is just bad luck!

glowingtwig · 11/02/2021 21:54

@TheDaydreamBelievers that's one of the tests that Prof Regan has ordered for me - I had it yesterday... second one on 10th March. Not sure how long it takes for results to come back.

In other news I'm 12dpo over here and feeling grim. I'm overthinking (as usual) and caved earlier... two tests down and BFNs but then checked and they aren't the sensitive ones. I felt like this two of my previous pregnancies (not the successful one) like a hangover when I'd not had any alcohol. I said to DH either an evil period is going to get me or I'm pregnant again but he was too busy putting the leftover spag Bol in the freezer to reply.

AMS19 · 12/02/2021 05:22

@glowingtwig oh wow if you've had this feeling before then you never know. I've obviously got everything crossed. Woul1d recurrent miscarriage team do some tests and monitor a new pregnancy? Keep us updated xx

Good morning all, cd26 here. Waiting for AF to arrive. I’m usually a 31 day cycle but who knows as I’m not sure I ovulated and my body seems abit up and down .

I’m getting my positive mindset in place though and decided it would make sense to do opks the next few cycles as I’m anticipating ovulation may be different. Are the one step opks any good? Should I splash the cash for the clear blue one? Never done a opk!!!

Thank you xx

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/02/2021 07:48

@Ralala I do the Ome Steps and find them plenty good enough!

AMS19 · 12/02/2021 07:56

@Ralala great stuff. I certainly feel more in control using OPKs. I havent tried the one step but easy@home aren't great. I used overview ones and they were really good too. Definitely don't need CB in my opinion, the cheap OPKs work just as well xx

AMS19 · 12/02/2021 08:05

@TheDaydreamBelievers hope you managed to get some sleep and was too stressed with information overload. Still holding out on you not needing the test because you fall this cycle. Any progress on the temps/opks?

OP posts:
Mellous · 12/02/2021 08:35

Morning ladies. Test today was negative! So I don’t know what the heck was going on the last few days. I really just want my period to arrive now!

AMS19 · 12/02/2021 09:12

@Mellous sorry to hear that. Good you're hopefully clear now though and ready for the next cycle!

OP posts:
SuzieDeLaTour · 12/02/2021 09:17

@TheDaydreamBelievers aww sorry to hear you’re having to go through tests but it’s good that they’re investigating and eliminating causes - it will give you peace of mind for when you do fall pregnant. Just step away from Google - I used to be my own worst enemy googling everything but all roads lead to something hideous!! Just avoid 😀😀 xx
