Hi ladies

A few of us got talking on another thread and found having each other in the same boat, whilst devastating, helpful. So here is a little thread so we can stay in touch and support each other through this journey.

Anyone who has recently experienced or is experiencing a MC/MMC please join us. We are just on the start of our journey ❤

I found out I had a MMC on 21st December at 9+5. This was following a scan that showed a baby with a heartbeat 3 weeks earlier. My body hasn't let go at all, with no bleeding, so I'm booked in for surgery tomorrow. The hardest thing waiting over Christmas 💔

@AMS19 no I’m still here, have had some lunch and just waiting for the doctors to look through my notes and discharge me however no idea on timings. I was given a shot of antibiotics in surgery apparently so won’t need anymore. The nurse said I can bleed for 10-12 days which will be like a period but any clots or a temperature then to call them.

Stay positive because these procedures are very quick so once they start them you’re in and out or theatre quickly. They do 12 hour shifts so the day shift started at 8 so you have a long time yet before they have a change over. Has the pessary done anything you can feel? Xxx

AMS19 · 30/12/2020 13:19

@DMT1982 they've just said they don't know if it will go ahead now. It isbt looking likely. I dont think I can go through this again tomorrow so I'm gonna elect for the tablets. It will be awful and I may well end up still needing surgery but I just can't spend my life sat in a hospital so gonna have to try it. 80% of the time apparently it does work so just have to hang onto that stat 🤞 xx

@AMS19 you poor thing, what an utterly horrible day on top of everything else you’ve been through and continue to go through.

I totally understand you want to get things moving and as long as they can see you if you have any issues then go for it. They wouldn’t offer it if it wasn’t safe so just remember that. You could find yourself in the same situation tomorrow you’re right but it’s what you feel comfortable with. Sending you a massive hug, it’s so awful for you xxx

DMT1982 · 30/12/2020 14:53

Just to update you i am home now and have come up to bed to relax. I’m not in any pain, just feel tired.

@AMS19 @SuzieDeLaTour @Redfoxinthesnow**@Redfoxinthesnow thinking of you all xxx

AMS19 · 30/12/2020 15:18

That is great news @DMT1982 I'm clearly just out of the luck the last 10 days! Xx

Hi ladies. I'm on my way home. Didn't happen. Knew it wouldn't. Gonna try one more time tomorrow then go down medical management route. What a day! 😭😭😭

@AMS19 I'm so sorry, you must feel so frustrated. I'm in the waiting room & just want it over with now.

DMT1982 · 30/12/2020 16:21

@AMS19 what a day you’ve had! I think you’ve made the right decision to try again because you’ll kick yourself if you don’t as you’ve come this far now and one last shot, hopefully a successful one this time 🤞🤞

@Redfoxinthesnow thinking of you xx

DMT1982 · 30/12/2020 16:22

@SuzieDeLaTour how are you doing, have you had your scan? Xx

AMS19 · 30/12/2020 16:36

@DMT1982 yeah I felt like I needed to try one more time. Ultimately it will still be quicker then starting medical management tonight. But I'll be so disappointed if it doesn't now happen tomorrow. Been such a long drawn out day. Amazing how exhausting waiting around is...

@Redfoxinthesnow thinking of you lovely xx

@AMS19 yes it will be quicker than the MM so you’ve got nothing to lose (other rush your sanity!)
Have something filthy to eat tonight to make up for lack of food today, have a bath and get an early night. It’s New Year’s Eve tomorrow and my birthday so my wish when blowing out my candles tomorrow morning will be for you to have the surgery 🤞🤞🤞🤞 xxx

DMT1982 · 30/12/2020 16:40

That meant to say (other than your sanity)

SuzieDeLaTour · 30/12/2020 16:45

@DMT1982 I’m glad to hear you’re home and not in any pain. Lots of rest for you and I hope you have support at home Flowers
@AMS19 that’s such a shame they couldn’t see you today, I really feel for you. It’s a massive emotional rollercoaster and when you’re mentally and emotionally expecting something to happen and it doesn’t, it’s even more of a head-f*! I really really hope you get seen tomorrow, I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

AMS19 · 30/12/2020 16:47

@DMT1982 I did have my scan eventually and they found I have a subchorionic hematoma, which is a pooling of blood in the uterus. Baby was fine, I saw the heartbeat and it had grown in line with my dates (confirmed me as 8+2) which was amazing. I actually cried with relief while they were still scanning me! But I’m feeling scared that it might get worse and have been reading stuff to scare the life out of me - so silly I know!! Why oh why did I go on Dr Google!? 🤦‍♀️ My DH says I have to stay positive so I’m trying...🥴 xx

SuzieDeLaTour · 30/12/2020 16:51

@DMT1982 Happy birthday for tomorrow!! The start of a new year and a better and happier time for you I hope xx

AMS19 · 30/12/2020 16:54

@SuzieDeLaTour that is amazing news!!! Im so so happy for you!!! Xx

@AMS19 thank you so much!! It was not what I was expecting at all thank god! The lovely sonographers were so kind as I cried my eyes out legs still up in the air, they probably thought I was mad 😀 I did find so much comfort earlier reading all your messages and the support everyone offers each other. I wish I had joined something like this when I miscarried before as there’s strength in finding people who understand what you’re going through xxx

AMS19 · 30/12/2020 17:06

@SuzieDeLaTour yeah honestly having this group is really helpful. I just need to get everything out of me so I can join in the heeling process with everyone else. Make sure you pop back now and again and let us know how each milestone is going! Xx

OP posts:
SuzieDeLaTour · 30/12/2020 17:18

@AMS19 I completely understand, I felt the same. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you and may 2021 be a wonderful year for all of us!! Xx ps I will definitely pop back ☺️ X

ginandtonic80 · 30/12/2020 17:51

All the best luck for tomorrow x

Unfortunately the hospital confirmed that I had miscarried - I really knew beforehand but it's still hard to accept. Thanks for all your support and @SuzieDeLaTour I'm so pleased that you had better news.

SuzieDeLaTour · 30/12/2020 18:47

@Redfoxinthesnow oh I’m so so sorry. It really is the most devastating news to hear. Be kind to yourself, take the time to process it, grieve and heal. Thinking of you xx

MAS50 · 30/12/2020 18:53

@AMS19 I'm so sorry it didn't happen today. Will keep everything crossed that it happens tomorrow. How awful, I'm Sure you're exhausted mentally and physically.

@DMT1982 glad you're home and resting up. Weird update from me, I have really red and hot cheeks! Don't have a temp but must be a weird reaction to the GA 🤷‍♀️ or lack of sleep last night! Hope you manage to have a good birthday tomorrow xx
