Hi ladies! Our last thread was automatically closed because we reached the 1,000 post limit. I was hoping we would be able to start a new thread called First Pregnancy Post-MMC, but unfortunately we are not quite there yet. I know we will be someday soon! In the meantime, I hope you will all join me on here as we continue on this journey together. You have all been an invaluable source of inspiration, support, and kindness for me and I want to thank you for making me feel less alone in this.

About me, for any newcomers: First MMC in February at 12 weeks (baby passed at nine), D&C the next day, found out five weeks later that it was a partial molar pregnancy and currently undergoing follow-up with CX. Second early mc in April. Now impatiently waiting to be cleared from CX before ttc again.

Indeed @Amanda81 it's bittersweet but glad it's over now. I'm dosed up as it's pretty painful but will hopefully calm down soon.

How are you feeling today? Xx

Amanda81 · 10/05/2019 07:48

It is bittersweet @Catconfusion and I am sorry it's painful. Is it heavier than usual like you anticipated? I'm doing okay, day at a time. I have my three nieces (7, 9 and 12) coming over for the weekend so that is bound to keep me occupied and stop my mind from wandering to dark places. Had another bad dream last night, which is clearly showing my anxiety. TBH I'm doing a good job during the day at being calm and not letting the anxiety surface. We started a conversation about the harmony test yesterday. Have you considered this? Xx

Catconfusion · 10/05/2019 08:24

@Amanda81 it seems pretty heavy. I might cancel a lunch date with a friend and just chill today. It's not unbearable though.

Sounds like you will have your hands full at the weekend but lots of fun too.

We would probably go for the harmony test if there was a significant chance of an abnormality on normal bloods I think. I have friends who've had awful scares with the standard blood tests and had the worry of going through an amnio. The harmony is so much less risky. It seems really accurate too and you'll know the sex. I'm not sure if it's free on the NHS yet. My midwife didn't know when I asked her.

My friend had a 1 in 17 chance of Down syndrome on the normal blood tests. The NHS didn't think twice about booking an amnio to confirm. She'd had three miscarriages in the past and didn't want the risk so paid for the harmony but she's glad she did as baby was fine. My other friend had an amnio when hers was 1 in 150 before the harmony came out. She had an awful time after with paranoia about losing the baby. Baby was fine but it was very stressful.

Another friend saved up for the Harmony as she fell pregnant at 43 and her standard bloods showed 1 in 1500 chance so she didn't need it. Xx

@Catconfusion glad it's the end of the WTF cycle for you. My AF was pretty heavy for the first couple of days but then was back to normal and pretty much stopped now. Waiting to see if I get the prolonged spotting this cycle or if things stop like normal. Hope you enjoy your day and AF isn't too distributive. X

AnnaMC214 · 10/05/2019 09:44

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been about for a couple of days.

@sadtoday21 how is your temp looking today?

@Catconfusion I hope you're doing ok. At least now af is here you can have a fresh new start. Definitely just chill out and take care of yourself. xx

@Amanda81 I think you're doing amazingly. Staying pretty calm during the day is definitely an achievement and I guess it's no surprise that the anxiety manifests in your dreams. I hope you have a lovely weekend with your nieces. xx

@Kiki061190 I really hope you're doing ok. We're here if you need us. Sending hugs xx

3204ECL · 10/05/2019 10:16

Hi @AnnaMC214 how are you doing? X

AnnaMC214 · 10/05/2019 11:12

Hi @3204ECL thanks for asking after me. I'm doing ok I think. Sometimes I think I'm doing really well but I think I'm just bottling stuff up a bit to get by. I stubbed my toe so hard yesterday that I cried and then couldn't stop 😂 I'm looking forward to hopefully starting a new cycle soon but also feeling apprehensive about ttc again.

How are you doing? I hope you're feeling better now that af is winding down. Are you excited to start a new cycle? xx

3204ECL · 10/05/2019 14:02

@AnnaMC214 sometimes I have an control or cry as well! It's becoming less frequent but still happens on occasion.

I am looking forward to trying again but am also a bit apprehensive. Hope you have a nice weekend planned. X

Rainbow8bubbles · 10/05/2019 14:34

@Kiki061190 haven't heard from you for a while. How u doing? X

sadtoday21 · 10/05/2019 16:58

@AnnaMC214 thanks so much for asking after me! I haven't had time to catch up on the thread yet today - crazy day at work! Will make for some good reading later tonight. How are you doing?

I had a huge temp drop this morning, so I guess you were right @3204ECL - large temp spike before AF may be the norm after mmc/mc. It is looking like AF is around the corner, maybe 1-2 days away still. I'm a bit disappointed, but of course it's to be expected since we weren't really trying. Weird though because my boobs have been killing me and I usually don't get pms. Just stronger symptoms post-mc I guess. In other news, I send my last sample to CX next week! I can't wait to ttc again.

@Catconfusion sorry to hear about AF, same boat here I think :(. Hope the pain eases soon xxx.

Thanks @sadtoday21 it's actually been ok. I dosed myself up and took it easy. I hope yours isn't too bad. Roll on getting your final results next week! Xx

AnnaMC214 · 10/05/2019 21:03

@sadtoday21 I'm sorry you're feeling disappointed which is completely understandable. Even when you try to talk yourself out of it it's hard not to think "what if". It's interesting that there have been a few ways in which mc has affected people on here in a similar way. That's great about your final CX sample. It's a good positive thing to focus on. xx

Rainbow8bubbles · 11/05/2019 06:42

I wonder if anyone feels like this too.... I'm due to go back to work next week and I'm scared because I feel like there is no way out like no end to it because I was waiting to leave to have my baby and now I have to wait and I'm stuck here until I get pregnant again. There is a risk imwill miscarry again and I'm scared because I waited nearly three months to then lose the baby and I need faith but I'm scared

AnnaMC214 · 11/05/2019 08:02

@Rainbow8bubbles I don't get a lot of fulfillment from my job and when I got pregnant I couldn't wait to have a family and a new purpose. Then I lost the baby and work just seemed to stretch on ahead of me forever with nothing to look forward to. I dreaded going back but work has actually been a welcome distraction and I feel the most like myself there. It's also helped to remind me there's stuff I'm good at. It might be quite tough at first but hang in there, it will get better xx

Kiki061190 · 11/05/2019 09:01

Hi ladies! I had my procedure yesterday and have to say it went fairly well. The NHS were fab and I ended up being allowed to go slightly earlier as they felt my bleeding had tailed off. Bleeding now like I’ve got a heavy period if that makes any sense but I feel fairly normal!

Just trying to stay incredibly positive and look at this as the first step to hopefully a successful pregnancy next!

Catconfusion · 11/05/2019 09:06

I'm sorry @Rainbow8bubbles it's so hard when you've been so far down that path of pregnancy to go back to normal life! Can you take more time off? I needed more than I expected. Xx

@Kiki061190 I'm so pleased it went as well as can be expected and you're feeling positive. You've still got a rocky road ahead but it sounds like you've got a good mindset so I'm sure you'll have a healthy pregnancy when you're ready! Xx

AnnaMC214 · 11/05/2019 09:27

@Kiki061190 so glad to hear it all went ok and you're feeling positive. I hope your recovery is nice and speedy. xx

3204ECL · 11/05/2019 09:53

@Rainbow8bubbles I felt very similar with the work situation. I felt very negative about there being no end in sight and found it very difficult for a few weeks. Now a few months down the line I'm almost in the opposite place, I've thrown myself in to work more again and I'm actually enjoying it more than I have in years. I'm sure I'll still be looking forward to a break when I'm pregnant again though! My advise would be to take each day as it comes and just know that it will get easier in time.

@Kiki061190 I'm glad the procedure went well and you're on the road to recovery. X

sadtoday21 · 11/05/2019 10:52

@Rainbow8bubbles I can understand how you are feeling - it’s hard to go back to work after, but as @AnnaMC214 said, I found the work to be a good distraction and I still feel that way honestly. Thinking of you xxx.

@Kiki061190 glad to hear that the procedure went as well as could be expected. I hope you are resting today and taking it easy. It’s a long road to full recovery, but you are off to a good start!

@AnnaMC214 what cycle day are you on now? Any temp drop yet?

@Amanda81 are you still having nightmares? Hope you have a bit more peace of mind today and thanks for the info about the harmony testing. How many days until the next scan? Sending you hugs and good wishes!

AF arrived today finally and it feels great tbh. It’s always such a relief for me after mmc and mc to know my body still works. And of course now I’m really counting the days until my next O! My LP was 15 days this cycle, 39 day total cycle after the early mc last month. Compared to 17 day LP and 53 day cycle after the late mmc the previous month. So heading in the right direction! Heavy flow but just going to relax today!

AnnaMC214 · 11/05/2019 11:14

@sadtoday21 it's great to hear af has arrived and you're feeling happy 😊 15 days is a nice normal lp too. I'm on cycle day 41 and 11 dpo so hopefully not too far behind you. No temp drop yet. How long before af arrives do you normally see the drop? xx

sadtoday21 · 11/05/2019 13:21

Thanks @AnnaMC214, I hope yours comes soon too so we can both move on with ttc! I am happy the LP is only 15 days this time and not 17 like before. I hate really long cycles! So, everyone is different, but I usually notice a temp drop 1-2 days before AF comes. Temping is a really accurate way to chart AF, but it gives only a short warning! At 11 dpo, you should be close! xxx

I like the sentiment of your tats @Rainbow8bubbles, glad you’re happy with them.

Pleased the procedure went well @Kiki061190 and you’re feeling ok, take it easy x

Fantastic that it’s your last sample @sadtoday21, I know it won’t feel like it but that does seem like it’s gone quickly, bring on the May TTC!

I’m on day 11 so started the OPKs yesterday but not seeing anything yet. I have had very tender boobs though which I haven’t had since before this pregnancy so am taking that as a good sign hormones are working properly. Am really hoping it happens next week as I go away for 5 days from the 20th!

Hope everyone’s having good weekends x x

Rainbow8bubbles · 11/05/2019 15:22

@Catconfusion I have another week off but it could be forever and it wouldn't be long enough lol
@AnnaMC214 I'm so glad it's not just me that feels this way I guess I just want to get the first day out of the way and it might be okay
@3204ECL thank you I hope your right x

Kiki061190 · 11/05/2019 17:34

Thanks so much for all your well wishes ladies! How long after your bleeding stopped did you get your period and did you track ovulation after your miscarriage? I’m tempted to buy those strips off amazon and see when my body ovulates!
