Hi ladies! Our last thread was automatically closed because we reached the 1,000 post limit. I was hoping we would be able to start a new thread called First Pregnancy Post-MMC, but unfortunately we are not quite there yet. I know we will be someday soon! In the meantime, I hope you will all join me on here as we continue on this journey together. You have all been an invaluable source of inspiration, support, and kindness for me and I want to thank you for making me feel less alone in this.

About me, for any newcomers: First MMC in February at 12 weeks (baby passed at nine), D&C the next day, found out five weeks later that it was a partial molar pregnancy and currently undergoing follow-up with CX. Second early mc in April. Now impatiently waiting to be cleared from CX before ttc again.

Hey @3204ECL I'm sorry to hear about the bfn but could it just be too early? Your chart looks amazing. Probably worth testing on Sunday maybe to check as implantation can take a while. Xx

3204ECL · 03/05/2019 07:01

@Catconfusion will definitely check again if no AF today or tomorrow. FF predicts AF today and my other app tomorrow so we'll see! X

Catconfusion · 03/05/2019 07:02

Well good luck @3204ECL What will you do about the hen do? I'm going to test on Sunday after my bfn at 9 dpo. Xx

3204ECL · 03/05/2019 07:07

@Catconfusion I'm going to test again in the morning and if still BFN I'm going to go. I really want to go and think it will do me good as DH is out all day and eve Saturday anyway so I'd only sit around and procrastinate. Won't drink too much but will let myself have a couple! Good luck for Sunday. How are you feeling and how are the symptoms today? X

AnnaMC214 · 03/05/2019 07:23

I'm sorry @3204ECL - I definitely agree that you should test again though. If it's still a bfn then I hope you find lots of comfort in at least moving forward from that cycle and very much enjoy the hen do. xx

Catconfusion · 03/05/2019 07:27

That sounds like a good plan @3204ECL If not it's just putting your life on hold. I read somewhere that alcohol only makes a difference 18 days after conception. Obviously best avoided but a couple would be unlikely to affect things anyway.

I still have all the symptoms. The cramping has died down a bit thank goodness. I'm also feeling very emotional. I think seeing the bfn has affected me more than I thought it would. We are seeing the doctor later for DHs sperm analysis results. I'm going to ask for the hormone blood test so I'm a little nervous in case the doc says no. Xx

3204ECL · 03/05/2019 07:34

@Catconfusion it must be messing with your mind having the symptoms so strongly and yet a BFN. My symptoms have only been mild yet I still feel disappointment. Fingers crossed for the blood tests from the doctor as this will really help put your mind at rest. Also hope the sperm test results are all ok. X

3204ECL · 03/05/2019 07:36

Thanks @AnnaMC214 will let you know how tomorrow morning goes. Any sign of o for you? X

Catconfusion · 03/05/2019 07:50

It's definitely annoying @3204ECL as nausea is something I've only had in pregnancy, not a usual pre menstrual symptom. I am very sensitive to hcg and it started very early last time. I'll keep you all posted regarding DHs results and whether they'll do the hormone screen. Xx

AnnaMC214 · 03/05/2019 08:16

@3204ECL I feel a little deflated about O. My temp was still up today though lower than the last couple of days. Femometer is refusing to confirm O as it says my previous temps fluctuate too much. I remembered what others had said and entered it all into FF. I get the cross hairs but it's a dotted line. I don't know if the fluctuations are down to post mc hormones. I guess I'll just have to see what happens in about 11 days.

@Catconfusion lots of luck with your appointment today. I hope you get a sympathetic doctor.

Thanks @AnnaMC214 I hope so too. I'm ready to complain if not.

I think your chart looks great. The pre ovulation temps are a bit erratic but that's understandable and it should even out now. Don't worry too much about the dip. I had a dip then a big rise. It's such good news your body has ovulated. Try not to feel disheartened! Xx

3204ECL · 03/05/2019 08:41

@AnnaMC214 my last cycle looked very similar to this and it was my first post MMC. After AF things seemed to settle down and seem a bit more regular. I also had the dotted red line last cycle. Fingers crossed for another rise then AF soon for you x

sadtoday21 · 03/05/2019 09:29

@3204ECL that is the best post-O chart I’ve ever seen. Seriously. I would bet money on that being a BFP and I’m sorry, but no way your AF is coming today or tomorrow! The temps have to drop to the coverline or below before AF comes and you are really far away from it. Did you test with an frer or something less sensitive? Hope that you get a good result tomorrow and totally agree with your perespective on the hen do!

@catconfusion I’ve often wondered about alcohol in the tww so very interesting that you read only after 18 dpo. Where did you see that? Let us know how the test results go today!

@AnnaMC214 the reason the lines are dotted is because some of the temps you entered are at different times (open circles). If you go back in FF and change all the times to the same one and have all closed circles, then you should get solid crosshairs for O. The one concerning thing is that your temp is a bit too close too the cover line today - if it drops below tomorrow then FF might recalculate O and might have been a failed attempt. But you are definitely almost there, if not there already! This is all totally normal and I’d say you are still on track for AF soon. Do you know your usual LP?

Catconfusion · 03/05/2019 09:41

@sadtoday21 I'm not sure where I read it. I read lots about alcohol when I was first pregnant as I had a few drinks one night before I knew. Personally I'm happy to not drink at all while trying but it's hard when special events come up. It's my 40th birthday at the end of June and I may want to drown my sorrows. I'm hoping it falls during the beginning of my cycle.

Thanks I'll let you know how the doctors goes! Xx

AnnaMC214 · 03/05/2019 09:45

Ok thank you everyone. I'll try not to lose heart just yet. @sadtoday21 I wish I knew why I got such a spike on the 27th. Without that value my cover line is much lower. Unfortunately I don't think I can do much about the open circles. When I wake up I am literally wide awake and it seems better to just take the temp then than lie in bed and wait for a better time. I just really hope I get a good high temp tomorrow. When I was using opks my lp seemed about 14 days but then it's very hard to pinpoint the exact day of O with them. I'm finding all this bbt stuff very interesting. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge with me 😊xx

Catconfusion · 03/05/2019 09:56

@AnnaMC214 I'd be tempted to ignore the spike. It could just be a hormone fluctuation. It seems a bit close to O to be a failed ovulation. Your post O temps are lovely and high, even with the dip. Just see how it goes. Xx

3204ECL · 03/05/2019 10:01

@sadtoday21 I must admit the rise again this morning filled me with hope but then a definite BFN on a FRER 🤷🏽‍♀️ will see what the next couple of days bring. I've had more brown spotting this morning as well so who knows. X

sadtoday21 · 03/05/2019 10:16

@3204ECL sorry to hear that, I would have been very hopeful too with a rise like that! Is brown spotting before AF normal for you? Could it be an implantation bleed? I just don't see how AF can be starting when your temps are that high - it goes against all temping wisdom haha!! Hoping that you have a positive test soon xxx.

@AnnaMC214 one high temp could just be a hormone fluctuation, perfectly normal after the mmc! You do have a really nice rise after that low point, so most likely everything will go back up tomorrow and AF is on her way! If you keep temping you will begin to see a drop back towards the coverline 1-2 days before AF comes.

@Catconfusion you are not temping anymore, right? Just wondering if your chart is going up too with all your symptoms. Fingers crossed for Sunday! Will you be around 11 or 12 dpo then?

All this talk of charts has made me feel like posting mine - any thoughts on it? Not much going on as far as I can tell, although there is a slight rise. I am 8 dpo today and exactly 3 months since the mmc. I almost broke down and tested yesterday but decided it wasn't worth wasting the money and possible heartbreak/anxiety. The chance of pregnancy is really low this cycle anyway, so I'm really just hoping for AF to come swiftly. I've decided my LP is probably more like 12-14 days, not 17 like last cycle with the BFP. Before the mmc/mc, I roughly had an AF every month or so. I wasn't tracking of course, and I don't think it was exactly 28 days, but I do think it was about 31 days more or less. With an O of around 19 days into the cycle, I think this would make the LP around 12 (which makes sense if the bfp was for five days last time = 17). Does that seem logical to you guys?

I just read this article on ptsd. It's really interesting as I can recognise some of these symptoms in myself and other ladies on MN. It's three months since my surgery but some days the pain feels as real as it did at the time. I definitely think there should be more follow up with ladies who've had miscarriages! Xx

Catconfusion · 03/05/2019 10:23

@sadtoday21 no I stopped temping. I've come to realise charts can look like pregnancy charts when they're not and vice versa. I felt it would be too stressful reading into every drop and rise. I'll be 12 dpo on Sunday so should be an accurate test.

Your chart looks good and a 12 day luteal phase is healthy. Maybe see if AF comes and test if it doesn't. Not long now until that fresh start! Crazily my AF won't be here for a good week Xx

3204ECL · 03/05/2019 10:32

@sadtoday21 no spotting not normal pre the MMC but I had spotting after my first AF all the way until o. My gut feeling is that my body isn't quite back to normal enough yet but the temping has been making me think otherwise... I'll temp again in the morning and then do a test and see. Only time will tell I guess. X

Catconfusion · 03/05/2019 17:22

So it's looking like DHs sperm analysis might be lost. After all that! We're to call next week to see if it's turned up.

The doctor was useless. I asked for a cd 3 hormone test He didn't know what that was. Didn't know what AMH is - it's a test for egg reserve. It wasn't on his screen so presuming not available on nhs.

He's agreed to do LH, FSH and testosterone. I know these tests have to be done on cycle day 3. He told me to go whenever I want to have them done.

He's also said he's pretty sure we're too old to get a fertility referral on the nhs. They would however give me clomid to stimulate my ovaries if I'm not pregnant in a year.

Grrr so frustrated 🤷🏻‍♀️ xx

AnnaMC214 · 03/05/2019 20:54

@Catconfusion oh no, I'm sorry. How completely frustrating on all counts. Is there any chance you could go back and see someone different who actually knows what they're talking about? When I wanted the mirena coil I was told by my GP that I couldn't as I hadn't had children. This was complete rubbish of course so I went instead to a sexual health clinic who were lovely and very angry I'd been given such incorrect information. My point is that it makes such a difference when you get the right person. xx

Catconfusion · 03/05/2019 21:00

@AnnaMC214 thank you for replying. Yes I will see someone else. I definitely need to go for the blood test he's ordered on cd 3 so I'll do that and then see someone else. He said I can have my progesterone tested too after that.

As for the SA we will call the hospital on Monday.

In other news my symptoms are still there. I had a load of leukorrhea today. We will test in the morning. Fingers crossed we won't need the tests done anyway. Xx

AnnaMC214 · 03/05/2019 21:06

@Catconfusion at least that's some positive progress even if he was pretty useless. Hopefully the next person will be more helpful. I really hope you get some good news tomorrow. xx
