Hi ladies! Our last thread was automatically closed because we reached the 1,000 post limit. I was hoping we would be able to start a new thread called First Pregnancy Post-MMC, but unfortunately we are not quite there yet. I know we will be someday soon! In the meantime, I hope you will all join me on here as we continue on this journey together. You have all been an invaluable source of inspiration, support, and kindness for me and I want to thank you for making me feel less alone in this.

About me, for any newcomers: First MMC in February at 12 weeks (baby passed at nine), D&C the next day, found out five weeks later that it was a partial molar pregnancy and currently undergoing follow-up with CX. Second early mc in April. Now impatiently waiting to be cleared from CX before ttc again.

Lovely temp rise @3204ECL, and you have your bases covered with BD. I think it's right to visit the doctor about the spotting, as if it does happen again you have it logged on the records with them. It's feels like a very very long week.

I had a temp rise today. Yey. I think I am going to put the thermometer down once I get to six weeks. Really looking forward to this weekend 🤗🤗xx

bananamonkey · 26/04/2019 07:48

Fantastic @3204ECL!

I still don’t know what to think of my WTF, the spotting has finally stopped, hurrah! But I did pass some gross bits of tissue on Wednesday Envy Then yesterday had some major ovulation-type pains all day 🤷🏻‍♀️

Catconfusion · 26/04/2019 08:56

Yay @3204ECL we're cycle buddies. Mine confirmed in FF too. Ovusense hasn't confirmed yet but it should do tomorrow. Ovusense has moved my ovulation indicator to cd 35 though. I'm not sure I agree. It would be closer to when we dtd though. I'm glad you're spotting stopped!
Xx

@Amanda81 I'm so pleased about your rise today. How are you feeling? Xx

@bananamonkey It now be O coming. So glad the spotting stopped too. Xx

@sadtoday21 I'm doing ok thank you. Even though I know it's still early days I'm starting to feel a bit impatient for first af now. I'm stocked up again with tests now so I'll do another one on Monday. I want to feel like I'm doing something other than just waiting but I know, you of all people, know how that feels!

@3204ECL congrats on O and the end to the spotting. Both must be a big relief. Glad to hear spotting has also stopped for you @bananamonkey

@Amanda81 so happy to hear about the temp rise. I think that's a good idea about stopping temping at 6 weeks. I've heard it won't necessarily tell you much after that point and will likely just cause you unnecessary stress.

sadtoday21 · 26/04/2019 11:27

@3204ECL congrats on a great looking chart! Fingers crossed for the tww! @bananamonkey great news that the spotting has stopped - are you temping to check for O? @Catconfusion great news on the confirmed O! Very happy for you and I have everything crossed for you too!

@AnnaMC214 how's the charting going? That should give you an idea of whether AF is around the corner. I know what you mean about hating the waiting and feeling like you can't do anything about it. Still in that phase now really as I have to wait one more month.

@Amanda81 great news on the temp rise. I agree about stopping the temping after six weeks. Are you still going to do HPTs regularly?

Still no confirmed O for me today :(. Chart still looking pretty awful. Anything I can do to help shorten my cycles? I've never had such long cycles before the mmc/mc.

@sadtoday21 my temps are staying very level now after an initial low one which I think was an anomaly. It's annoying though as I've only been temping a week and a half so I don't know if this is pre or post O! I'm sorry you're having a frustratingly long cycle. I'm sure it's just that the chemical has delayed O like it did with @Catconfusion and it'll be a one off. By the time the month you still have to wait is up you'll be back on track and ready to go. xx

Catconfusion · 26/04/2019 12:11

Thank you so much @sadtoday21 I honestly thought it was anovulatory this cycle. Don't give up hope of it happening. As you know I have pcos so assumed it was that but now just wonder if it was the chemical as @AnnaMC214 pointed out. I really wouldn't be surprised if you gear up again.

I'm wondering whether the Inositol supplement has helped. I started it a couple of weeks ago. It's for treatment of pcos but I'm wondering if normal ladies can take. It's also safe in pregnancy and helpful to prevent preterm labour so I'm going to carry on with it. Also helps with egg quality apparently. It might be worth looking into. I take the Zita West one. Xx

sadtoday21 · 26/04/2019 12:31

Thanks @Catconfusion, I might look into that more! The supplement does seem to be helpful in regulating O and quite safe. I'm starting to wonder if it's possible that I have pcos or at least some mild hormonal imbalance. I did have slightly irregular cycles in my youth, but assumed that was more due to extreme dieting and exercise than anything else. Now I realised that I have six days of EWCM or more each cycle, which seems like a lot more than average and the cycles are way too long. I can't tell if this is due to the mmc/mc or something else, but might investigate further if the next cycle is abnormal as well.

OP posts:
Catconfusion · 26/04/2019 12:49

It's certainly worth investigating @sadtoday21 I would imagine if you do have it it's very mild. For most ladies it's just a pain as ovulation can be a bit unpredictable. Most can get pregnant if they know when. They would have told you if any cysts on your scans but then they do go in pregnancy.

A day 3 hormone test might show an imbalance if your doctor will do one. They wouldn't do mine due to falling pregnant easily. I'm going to ask again if this cycle hasn't worked out. Failing that I might pay for one. My last one came back normal when I was 30 despite the cysts. It would be useful to compare 10 years on.

I'm not sure how well Inositol works if not pcos but as you say seems safe. I've found my mood has been better since I started it too. Xx

Amanda81 · 26/04/2019 13:26

I hope it's O @bananamonkey and so pleased the the spotting has stopped. I never had spotting until after the erpc, and became a regular event for me at 10dpo, drives me insane xx

It's great to have a cycle buddy @Catconfusion and @3204ECL! It will be interesting to see how you are both feeling is you journey along your tww.

Thanks for the back-up in agreeing with me giving up the thermometer at 6 weeks (it helps to have my thinking certified by you guys). I think it's the most sensible thing to do, as it won't tell me much once I get to that point. It was helpful last cycle as I was able to see the Mc before it happened, but yesterday just added unnecessary stress. I plan to do one more test at the weekend @sadtoday21, probably Sunday. Then I will stop and just free-style it. I will probably get a scan at 7/8 weeks and will probably become addicted to scanning, if I get to that point that is.

Not sure what your chart is indicating @sadtoday21 I've read on another thread that a rocky up and down chart is a sign of hormonal imbalances, which I think would be fair after what you have been through, you probably just need a little more time to let your body snap back in to action. I think it will be ready and fully cleansed for when you start ttc in May. I bet you feel like a weight has lifted since you had your test results xx

I'm feeling okay today. Day at a time. Taking the HPT helped with the anxiety yesterday (my DH called it my mini-breakdown as it was so out of character. We are going out for a late lunch/early tea today as a way of finishing the week and celebrating that we are still pregnant. I have booked a visit to the midwife for next Wednesday, which will make me 6+1 based on my LMP. However, I think I am a couple of days behind based upon ovulation. I wish that I had taken notes on symptoms during my first pregnancy as it would be helpful to compare. I recall being a late bloomer in terms of feeling boobage pain and think it kicked in around 6/7 weeks. I am feeling nauseous in the morning, whereas in my first pregnancy I was nauseous in the evening. Weird how the symptoms change with each pregnancy.

Now that you have O confirmed @Catconfusion, how are you feeling? Xx

Only half a day for the weekend...whoop whoop 🙌🙌

sadtoday21 · 26/04/2019 14:39

@Amanda81 it's so strange as I feel the hormones should be more balanced now than after the mmc, particularly now that I know my hcg is back to normal. Are there other hormones that could be out of whack? The temps never lie and they are telling a strange story. I don't know, I guess if I have to have a wtf cycle it might as well be the last one before we can start to ttc again. It takes some of the pressure off at least, although I was sorely tempted to take out the opks this morning!!

I will be v. interested to see how your pregnancy is different from the last, my second one only lasted about a week so I didn't have time to compare. I had mild symptoms the last time though, practically none besides strong sense of smell, small breakouts, a little boob twinging/enlargement, and extra hunger/weight loss. I had no morning sickness whatsoever. I hope your appointment goes well next week and I totally agree about the frequent scans!

I definitely miss being pregnant and I am starting to really want to be again, now that I feel mostly recovered from the mmc/mc. I just hope things work out differently next time. So far we have fallen pregnant every time we tried, but I am scared it could take longer the next time around. Let's hope that what they say about being more fertile in the six months after mmc is true! Right now just trying to take it one day at a time, like you, and reward myself with non-pregnancy suitable treats whenever I feel down about it.

I'm no expert @sadtoday21, but I think that estrogen and progesterone are the key hormones which impact the cycle and influence the bbt chart. So when you are in the follicular phase, estrogen is the key driver in hormone, keeping your temps low. Post O is when progesterone takes over resulting in higher temps. Your chart suggests that there is a fight going on between E and P and neither is winning. Perhaps now that your HCG has been depleted, E and P will fall in line and be less confused with what they should be doing. I'm sure it's not as simple as all that, but it would be worth seeing how the next week goes as you are most likely at zero with the HCG by now, which will allow E and P to relax. Does that make any sense??? X

Amanda81 · 26/04/2019 15:08

I strongly believe that we are super fertile after loss...it will happen @sadtoday21. Are you still taking your prenatal vits? Xx

bananamonkey · 26/04/2019 16:04

I am temping @sadtoday21 but think my cycle is too weird to interpret this time round! That’s amazing that you get so many days of EWCM, I only ever get it a little on one day so blink and you miss it!

Enjoy your meal out today @Amanda81! The symptom spotting can drive you crazy and I’ve decided there’s no good indicator of anything, I’ve mentioned it before but I had 0 symptoms with my first up to about 10 weeks but for the MMC I felt horrendous straight away all the way to 4 weeks after the baby stopping growing.

sadtoday21 · 26/04/2019 16:27

@bananamonkey this is your first cycle after the early mc, right? And you are on cd33 without confirmed O? Just wondering if we are both having the same impact of weird hormones after the early mc.

@Amanda81 yes, still taking the prenatals and the EPO all the way this cycle since no possibility of pregnancy. I'm really not sure whether it helps or not tbh!

OP posts:
bananamonkey · 26/04/2019 16:38

Yes exactly @sadtoday21, had EWCM last weekend and major O pains yesterday but nothing reliable on the OPKs or temps (although started far too late). My last cycles were about 4 weeks long so this is much longer.

Catconfusion · 26/04/2019 18:58

I'm sorry @bananamonkey it must be the hormones settling. So frustrating though. I hope something changes soon! Xx

@Amanda81 Have a lovely meal out. Lots to celebrate. Great you're getting in with the midwife next week to set the ball rolling. It's so exciting!

I'm ok thanks. Really relieved I've ovulated either Monday or Tuesday. Since Monday I've been running to the loo. Even looking at a bottle of water makes me want to pee. I've been up in the night as well which is not like me. I've just been to see Avengers Endgame (3 hours long) with DH and it nearly killed me holding it. I'm thinking it's the hormone change somehow. Xx

@sadtoday21 I think @Amanda81 Is right about the hormone dance with o and p. I really felt like my oestrogen was higher than it should have been. My mood is so much better after O. Hormone imbalances don't always affect fertility and things should hopefully even out soon. Xx

Have a lovely weekend everyone! Xx

sarmum14 · 26/04/2019 22:08

Hi everyone, how have you all been? Hope you're doing well @Amanda81 and I think the meal out is a lovely idea! How's everyone else?

Today DH and I went to the hospital to collect the foetus for burial. It was so weird. They gave us a small coffin shaped shoebox with our names on it. My DH has been so teary all day. I've felt numb. We've also been moving back into our house which is still a building site so have focussed on that instead. I think one day we'll look back on this year and wonder how we didn't just have a complete breakdown.

Drinking wine by the pint at home this evening. Well, not quite pint but fancy large glasses so I never need to know quite how much is in them. Hope you're all doing okay. Sending love. X

3204ECL · 27/04/2019 07:58

@sarmum14 I'm so sorry that must have been such a hard thing to have to go through. Hope the wine helped and the head isn't too bad this morning! Great news on being back in your house. I bet that's a huge relief if a little stressful in the short term! Sending love and hugs x

Catconfusion · 27/04/2019 08:53

I'm really sorry @sarmum14 that must have been a very surreal and upsetting day for you both. Good that you have your house move to focus on but it must have been so hard. You have had such an awful time yet you've been so strong and supportive on here. I'm sure everyone is really grateful. I hope it gets easier now you're back in your home. Xx

AnnaMC214 · 27/04/2019 09:00

Oh @sarmum14 I don't even know what to say. That sounds like such a hard and surreal day. I hope you and your dh find some comfort from the burial and take care of yourselves. Good luck with your house move and I hope it helps to be back in your own place. Sending lots of hugs xx

Catconfusion · 27/04/2019 09:10

Good morning everyone,

I've not been well at all with a banging headache/nausea and I was sick last night too. I had to go to bed early as exhausted. I'm not sure if it's a bug or I've eaten something. Obviously I'm only 5 dpo according to Ovusense (4dpo with FF) so it's crazy to think I'd have any symptoms if we'd conceived. Last time I'd had a couple of days of nausea when I got my very faint bfp at 9 dpo. Maybe it's psychosomatic as I'm peeing lots as well and have mild cramping. I feel a little bit like I'm going mad. I am very sensitive to hormonal changes so could just be the rise in progesterone.

How are you all today? Xx

3204ECL · 27/04/2019 09:17

@Catconfusion you never know and fingers crossed! All good here just the dreaded wait although I'm really not feeling that hopeful after the continued spotting I had after last AF. I'm supposed to be going on a hen do next weekend which is when my AF would be due... really can't decide what to do. Think I might take an early test on the Friday and see. X

Catconfusion · 27/04/2019 09:30

@3204ECL I guess it's just so weird feeling like this again and so soon. Maybe ttc has finally made me go mad. I am beginning to question when I ovulated just in case it was earlier and these are genuine symptoms. I had a dip today as well which could be an implantation dip. I'm trying to not get my hopes up as probably not what I'm thinking.

I wouldn't have thought spotting has prevented you from conceiving. Some ladies ovulate soon after their period and get pregnant. I'd definitely do an FRER before the hen do. Such an awkward time for it. I have a 40th birthday party next Sunday so I'll do mine then but I'm going to drive anyway just in case. Xx

bananamonkey · 27/04/2019 09:40

I’m so sorry @sarmum14 that must have been so tough, much love x x

I’m bridesmaid at my best friend’s wedding next weekend @3204ECL although I don’t know what’s happening with my cycle I’m keen to avoid alcohol for general TTC health, or maybe I’ll just be drowning my sorrows! I’m at my DD’s swimming lesson this morning and I’ve literally seen 10 pregnant women, each one made my stomach sink, thanks universe! It’s so hard to do child stuff like classes and nursery runs as they’re full of pregnant people and I can’t avoid them!
