A Manchester Meet up?

MerlinsBeard · 08/02/2010 11:08

Seems there a few Manchester MNers who would like a meet up.

I know the SHineys are having one but feels wrong to gate crash if we haven;t posted!!

I am not volunteering to organise one, just starting a thread so other people can

I am far to lazy and likely to change my mind to do that!!

hmmm I could have made this but found the thread this afternoon, ah well...
hmmm I havn't socialised for years since having DD. Probably would have chickened out anyway

YanknCock · 08/03/2010 15:55

Was great to meet so many of you, sorry not to have got to talk to everyone. Agree evening drinks sans kids would be fun.

I think I blathered too much, my voice is nearly gone again.

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 16:05

hellooooo all xx

lovely to meet you all < mwah >

OMG who do I owe for the second coffee...Yank, Belle, Sez...in my panic to not be late for school pick-up, I ran off without paying for my cappucino

su, ds2 looks ok in himself so unless he gets worse perhaps hold off on the doctor for now ? He does have a rattly chest though, poor ikkle blighter

and for the record, tsc's dd was cute and behaved like 2 yo's often behave ...perhaps because I stole her mini eggs ?

YanknCock · 08/03/2010 16:14

AF, Belle graciously insisted on paying for all of them and I am skint so graciously accepted

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 16:18

ah. ok

well, I will pay for the coffees next time then

I feel like a bill-dodger

belle ...hope you got home safely and thanks for the coffee, love

YanknCock · 08/03/2010 16:22

Well there had to be at least one bill dodger right?

Considering how many people were there on one giant bill over £200, I'm amazed we didn't come up short. Obviously MNers are way more conscientious than most big groups I've dined with in the past!

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 16:29

shit, I will be forever known as the MN bill-dodger..

YanknCock · 08/03/2010 16:36

Seriously, don't worry. Sez at least insisted on paying for her own. I am so bad-mannered I barely protested Belle paying!

dawntigga · 08/03/2010 17:17

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I've told Mumsnet all about the what really happened today here

BelleDameSansMerci · 08/03/2010 17:24

Oh per-lease... Two cups of coffee in return for adult conversation; seeing other lovely children; having time that was just for me? A bargain, I think.

You are both most welcome.

Just one thing though, yank, do try to get some wrinkles before we meet again. It would make me feel so much less like an old lady better!

MissMarjoribanks · 08/03/2010 17:25

Lovely to meet you all today, particularly biblio and her DD who put up with shared a table with me as I messily attempted to eat my lunch with one hand whilst bfing with the other.

I also managed to find a handbag I was after, so a successful day all in.

Definitely up for an evening meet - would be more raucous with wine and sans kids, I suspect.

Saucepanman · 08/03/2010 17:36

Had a lovely time meeting you all, sorry I didnt get to talk to everyone. Found NOTHING in H&M so still no maternity clothes! DD had a good time too, despite saying "muuum this is boring!" I am shattered now

suwoo · 08/03/2010 17:43

I am shattered too and not pg!

Saucepanman · 08/03/2010 17:45

suwoo dd really took a shine to your ds! Did he take his portrait with him?!

suwoo · 08/03/2010 18:02

He sure did. Bless her

MrsChemist · 08/03/2010 18:28

I've just had a nap, I was so tired
Was lovely meeting everyone today, and thanks again for the lift su!

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 18:34

MrsC

next time we meet, could you please not make me look like your fecking granny ?

MrsChemist · 08/03/2010 18:43

I'll try , but I was wearing my grown up clothes today, so I'll have to try extra hard.

bilblio · 08/03/2010 18:49

I'm still trying to work out who everyone was. I'm so bad at names.
It was lovely meeting everyone and I'm definitely up for a night time do.

MissMarjoribanks, I just can't get over the fact you worked on the house I worked at. Small world.
I think you managed very well with your lunch, hope DD didn' put you of your lunch with the baked beans

Now time to get DD in the bath, I bought her a wipe clean colouring book as she was so good while I went clothes shopping. Unfortunately she's now covered in pen. She has some very fetching whiskers.
At least we went shopping after meeting you all.

MrsChemist · 08/03/2010 19:00

Not saying you look like a granny at all AF , just that I look like a child usually.

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 19:01

actually, I am plenty old enough to be somebody's granny

do you get ID'ed much, MrsC ?

notevenamousie · 08/03/2010 19:07

I'm so disappointed! DD still vomiting by evening though. If I'm lucky I'll be next - what a great way to spend our week's holiday. I seem to get so few chances to not be at work and meet people, especially local people who also have children. Am glad you all had a good time and am really trying not to feel sorry for myself.

AnyFucker · 08/03/2010 19:14

aww, mousie

there is always next time
