A Manchester Meet up?

MerlinsBeard · 08/02/2010 11:08

Seems there a few Manchester MNers who would like a meet up.

I know the SHineys are having one but feels wrong to gate crash if we haven;t posted!!

I am not volunteering to organise one, just starting a thread so other people can

I am far to lazy and likely to change my mind to do that!!

DS and I are definites. I will be eating.

snottymcgrotty · 01/03/2010 01:12

Oooh, are you still welcoming newbies ? I'm east of manchester, not far from a couple of others. I work shifts though so will have to double check what I'm on. Would be lovely to be able to meet some real life people (not just read things and reply on mumsnet, or talk to children) >
IF I were able to come, it would be DD1 3.7yrs and DD2 18mths and myself (looking VERY dowdy, tired etc).

MrsChemist · 01/03/2010 10:25

Of course you can come

AnyFucker · 01/03/2010 11:50

of course, snotty

as long as you don't wipe your snot on us

MrsChemist · 01/03/2010 13:33

What do we do if not everyone gets back to us about if they can definitely come or not? Book for them anyway just in case?

AnyFucker · 01/03/2010 13:41

dunno, MrsC

I said right at the beginning of this we should maybe just wing it, because I think there will be a large drop-out rate

there always is, for something like this

and if people are coming and going at different times...?

I dunno what is best, tbh

but then, I am a bit of a "winger" and it has got me into lots of pickles in the past

people get busy, things crop up or they simply chicken out change their mind

BelleDameSansMerci · 01/03/2010 13:41

I'd say book for half of them? What do you think?

Also think we'll have to keep bumping to make sure everyone sees this.

Thank you so much for taking on the booking etc.

MrsChemist · 01/03/2010 14:10

It's ok

I'll keep bumping here and reminding people on facebook (perhaps with the help of suwoo). In a few days we can contact them with the final numbers etc.

AnyFucker · 01/03/2010 14:15

I don't do the FB thing, btw

MrsChemist · 01/03/2010 14:19

Indeed, thanks for the reminder

Also reminds me that there was someone else who had no facebook. I'll trawl the thread and see who it is.

chipsticksmammy · 01/03/2010 14:36

having just moved to manc i'd love to come to the meet up. i've clicked on the FB link so who ever runs it, i'm not a crazy stalker I just fancied coming along

is its still the 8th at the trafford centre?

suwoo · 01/03/2010 14:41

I'm here, I'm here.

Mrschemist, shall I send everyone in the group a message?

AnyFucker · 01/03/2010 14:56

hi chip, you are very welcome

yep, still the 8th at TC

MrsChemist · 01/03/2010 15:15

If you could suwoo, that would be great

KentuckyFriedPenguin · 01/03/2010 15:27

Considering recent events wrt a different meet up, i am going to drop out. There are a lot of names i don't recognise now and this feels too big for me - sorry

suwoo · 01/03/2010 15:48

What events?

dawntigga · 01/03/2010 15:57

AnyFucker · 01/03/2010 16:04

KFP...huh ????????

has something happened ?

MrsChemist · 01/03/2010 16:20

Is it something to do with the B/F mother on the bus thingy KFP?

BelleDameSansMerci · 01/03/2010 18:28

Eh?

KentuckyFriedPenguin · 01/03/2010 19:06

yes the bus woman thread. I have enough trouble with trolls on here as it is, i don't want to meet one irl

Just feeling a bit "wierd" at the mo and meeting strangers is making me a wee bit anxious.

SOrry, i know i'm not making sense.

sorry

KentuckyFriedPenguin · 01/03/2010 19:06

oh god that was supposed to be a wink !!

BelleDameSansMerci · 01/03/2010 19:52

Oh dear, KFP, that's awful. Hope you're feeling more yourself again soon.

bilblio · 01/03/2010 20:13

Hello, sorry, I dropped off the thread.

I'm still hoping to be there with DD, and yes we'll eat.

Meant to check it with my boss today but forgot. She never says no though so unless she has a complete personality transplant overnight we'll be there.

Having never been to the Trafford Centre before what's the best place to head to to park? I know at Meadowhell they have coloured car parks, is there something similar I could aim for?

chipsticksmammy · 01/03/2010 20:16

Thanks AF, will scrape sick off my jumper and wax the 'tache as I cant hide behind the internet in the Trafford Centre
